The birds started chirping away as the sun had once again starts to show up in the horizon.
The rays finally reaching the two slumbering people cuddling each other in a warm embrace. One might think that the two are lovers on first glance on how intimate they are. But the rose that is waking up beside the shield knew that it is not the case.
The steamy night they had spent together is nothing but only a moments comfort they had shared. To share and try to release each others pain. To lick each others wounds as a temporary cure to the permanent wound they have in their heart. Covering the pain with pleasure.
Pyrrha, the name Jaune kept calling as he thrusts into her repeatedly as his tears dropped down on his face as she moaned while clinging to him tightly. Ruby knew too well that the moment they shared last night was just a way to relieve each other of the loses they had. Ruby then turned and faced the blonde's sleeping face.
'I wonder what will happen now. I didn't think this through enough. I hope that this won't make things awkward around us.' She thought as she keeps observing the other's sleeping face.
Yawn~* Jaune suddenly yawned as he slowly opened his eyes to see familiar two silver eyes looking at him.
"Good morning sleepyhead." Ruby greeted him smiling as sweetly as she can.
"Hi Ruby." Jaune replied, sleep still evident on his voice. The memories of yesterday then hits Jaune like a sack of bricks. He immediately sit up and realized that they are still naked. It is lucky that the both of them didn't get any cold, but remembering how close they had been on each other during the night he thought that they won't get it anyway. Then as he remembers the night before, he also remembers the words and the name he kept on shouting out of lust, passion, and sense of loneliness.
He then looked at Ruby apologetically, grabbed her hand and clasped it tightly with his.
"Ruby... I'm sorry..." He said with sorrow and pain.
"Jaune it's okay."
"But Ruby I used you... I gave in. I shouldn't have used my vulnerability to do it. It is not an excuse for me to take something important to you. Your first. I've been irrational and-" A finger then placed itself upon Jaune's lip to stop him from talking.
Ruby then embraced Jaune tightly as she spoke and soothingly rubs the back of his head.
"Jaune, it's okay. You didn't do anything wrong. I started it. I don't regret it or feel any guilt losing my first with you, in fact I'm glad I lost it with someone like you. I've also used you last night as a way to also cover my pain."
"But Ruby I-"
"No buts! If you do I'll kick that butt of yours!" As she tightens her hug.
"I also miss Pyrrha. It also hurts me still to know that we cannot meet her again. Yes, I feel a slight pain as you are calling her name over and over despite being with me, but I understand that. I accept that pain and I wish you share your pain with me and let me help you carry the burden you have even through using my body."
"Ruby... Thank you very much." He then reciprocated her tight embrace with his own as he let a few tears once again falls under the woman whom did the same yesterday for him.
A few minutes of them hugging and they then finally felt the cold breeze of morning air and realized on how really exposed they really are. Making them break up of their hug.
"I think we should get back to Ren and Nora before they find us like this." Jaune spoke.
"Oh oh! you're right!" Ruby then started to blush as she saw Jaune's fully nude and toned body once again as the emotions finally goes down and her rational finally returns.
They then picked up their clothes and dressed, their backs facing each other. Once done dressing they then picked up their respective weapons.
"Are you ready to go back Jaune?" Ruby said as she reached out her hand to Jaune.
"Yes." Jaune then grabbed her hand and they walked back to their camp.
"Ruby-"
"Jaune if you are going to apologize once again I'll really kick that butt of yours." She interrupted.
"No Ruby, what I want to say is that thank you for being with me, for comforting me." He then slightly tighten his hold on her hand. "I wish I could also lessen your pain."
"Jaune, I also want to thank you. As you didn't also abandon me during my weakest. You searched and came to search for me. Just you being here with me helps me alot already."
"I guess that's also the same for me. I swear on this moment to continue being there with you and to never abandon you."
They then looked at each other and smiled, and as they do the smile on their faces suddenly turns to laughter as they realized on how serious they are at the moment.
"Why are we laughing?" Jaune is the first to ask the question.
"I don't know, I guess we really are two dorks who can't stay too serious for too long." as she slowly stopped laughing.
"Well that's one of the reasons we have known each other in the first place. But seriously, I promise to never ever abandon you and give it my all also to help you." He then gave her his biggest and genuine smile.
Ruby then suddenly thought at the moment that Jaune looked cool with the words that he had just said in which also managed to make her blush a little.
"Then I'll be relying on you from now on partner." She said as she tries to hide her blushing.
"You bet!" He replied happily.
The two then proceeded to continue down the trail back to the camp as they prepare on the journey ahead. Not realizing that they had just picked up one of the many pieces of each other's broken heart.
Meanwhile in the Camp:
"Ruby and Jaune sure are taking their time." Nora said as she performs her squats.
"Yup" Ren replied to Nora in his usual monotone voice as he cooks their breakfast on the bonfire.
"Maybe we should surprise them!? We can still see them both naked!" She then stops her squats, prepared to rush we're Ruby and Jaune are.
"Nora, No!"
"But!"
"No."
"Awwww~" Nora protested.
They heard and they knew.
So it's been years since I had last updated the story. Had been busy with life since then. I suddenly had a feeling I should continue this story and also the fanfic I also did for Fairytail.
