A Ouran Host Club Fanfic

Chapter 6

Oh Dear...

I sat on the hard, cold bench, nose stuck in a book, 'He's late' I thought. I sighed and kept reading.
Many people passed by, not one of them who I wanted them to be. I glanced at my watch. Time seemed to be going by as slow as possible.

A few moments later, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up to see, Ko directly in front of my face
wearing a big, stupid grin.

"AHH!" I screamed and fell clumsily off the bench. Ko stood there, trying to hide his laughter. I
glared at him, causing him to hold his hands up in surrender.

"Sorry!" He held out his hand. I took it, and he practically threw me in the air. "Did you wait
long?"

"Yes!" I exclaimed, proceeding to whack him on the head. "Come on or we are going to miss the
movie!" I took his hand and sprinted for the movie theater. Ko just shook his head and followed.

We made it just in time for our movie, and got good seats too. Hands still clasped together, I lead
him towards the middle of the theater.

"I heard this movie was amazing." Ko said with a grin. "I can't wait."

I smiled back at him, head turning towards the screen. The movie was your typical action packed
guy film, with a little blood, cars and fighting. I reached for the popcorn, and felt Ko's hand.
Blushing, I pulled it back, mumbling sorry.

Ko reached back for my hand and held it again. I blushed even deeper, embarrassed. The movie
continued, but all I could think about was his hand in mine.

"Poke, poke!" A little voice whispered behind me, a finger on my back. "Found you, Haru-
chan!"

"I knew this boy would be trouble! Unhand my daughter at once you fiend!" Tamaki shouted
over the movie, causing people to shush him in response.

"Seriously, Boss." Said the Twins. "You really need to calm down..."

Tamaki grabs me by the shoulders, hugging me tightly. Great, another one of his episodes. "My
precious little girl! Are you hurt?"

"I am just being strangled by a psycho maniac who thinks he is my dad!" I shouted.
"Where is this fool? I will tear him to pieces!" Tamaki looked around wildly, looking for the
strangler.

"Tamaki, so you really have to freak out EVERY time you see me with a boy? My real dad
behaves better than you." I complained as the Twins attempted to pull Tamaki's arms off me.

"She's right, Boss." Hikaru said, his twin nodding in agreement.

Tamaki moved from one side of the room to the only corner in a matter of seconds.

"SHHHH!" the other audience members complained.

"Sorry." I apologized. Everyone sat down, continuing to watch the movie.

It seemed to be over in a matter of seconds, and as soon as it was over, I took Ko's hand again
and bolted for the exit. We ran down the street for a few minutes, then stopped to catch our
breath.

"Phew, I think we lost them..." I sighed.

"Haruhi?" A voice questioned.

Oh crap...

Hiro appeared in front of me, a puzzled expression on his face. "And who is this?"

"Ummm..." Well, now it's to late to run. "He is a friend from my old school. We ran into each
other the other day and decided to meet up to catch up."

"And his name is...?"

"The name's Kimura Ko. " Ko said with a smile, holding out his hand.

"Pleasure... I am Shirohima Hiro." Hiro noted, ignoring Ko's outstretched hand. "Haruhi, are you
busy tonight?"

"I had planned to cook dinner tonight…."

"Splendid! I will come over then!" Hiro said, grinning with excitement. "First, tell me where I
might find your home?"

"Uh, my dad doesn't approve of me having people over without permission." I said, hoping he would change his mind.

"I will make sure to leave before your father returns." Hiro stated.

"I don't cook very well so you might not want to come..." I explained.

"Anything you make will be delicious, Haruhi." Hiro smiled, as if nothing could change his mind.

I gave him the directions reluctantly knowing I would regret this later. "I cook around six, so
you can come anywhere between then. Ko, lets go."

"Goodbye, my princess!" Hiro called, blowing a kiss at me. That guy seriously gives me the
creeps…

"So I'm guessing that's another one of your 'lovers'." Ko said, trying hard not to smile again.

"You know what…?" I said, balling my hands into a fist.

"I was only kidding!" Ko says as he starts to run away.

"Get back here!" I shouted, chasing him around. We ran down the street, not caring that people
were watching as we laughed, screaming at each other. It was as if we were kids again, wild and
crazy, always having fun.

Finally, we found our way to my house, our fun ending yet again. "Do you want to come in too?
I don't think I need to be alone with that creeper…"

"Sure, as long as you make some good food!" Ko said, walking ahead of me.

"Shut up! Last time you ate here, you said it was the best thing you ever tasted!" I pouted at him.

"The last time I was here, I was 12. I didn't have a wide variety of food back then, so I wouldn't
have known the good from the bad." Ko said, grinning at me again.

"Well, then I guess I will just have to serve you dog food!" I stomped inside.

"Haruhi! I was only joking. Come back!" He followed me inside.

"SURPRISE!" yelled some all too familiar voices. Not again….

Before me stood the Host Club, looking very pleased with themselves.

"HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET INTO MY HOUSE?" I shouted irritably.

"I had a spare key made." Kyoya said, fixing his glasses. "You had left it one day at school, and I
figured we may need it some time, so I borrowed it for a little." He tossed the key to me.

"Well, I guess it's a party now." Ko says, throwing his hands over his head.

Not wanting to deal with the Host Club right now, I started on dinner. Not only was I going to
have to go through a dinner with Hiro, but with the whole club as well. Ko followed me, helping
me prepare.

"So, this is going to be awkward…" Ko took the words right of my mouth.

"No duh, smart one. " I said smacking his forehead.

There was a knock on the door, and I could only hope and pray it wasn't Hiro. But of course it was.

He came right to me, grasping my hands. "My dear Haruhi, what are these fools doing here? Were they invited?"

"Some of them were." I said, glaring at the Host Club.

"Haru-chan, the food smells amazing!" Said Honey, and Mori nodded in agreement beside him.

"Thanks. It should be ready soon." And as soon as I said that, the timer rang, and the table was
set.

Everyone sat down in silence, waiting for someone to start eating first.

"May I make a toast to our wonderful hostess, Haruhi, for having us, this evening?" Hiro said,
trying to be gentleman-like again.

"Cheers!" Everyone shouted in unison. After that, the silence vanished, and the party began. I
have to say, I even enjoyed myself.

The Club members brought some of their favorite board games, and Kyoya brought a few
movies. We played and watched for hours, having fun the whole time. I taught the club members
how to play "Commoner" games. Tamaki talked the whole time, showing me that he knew how
to play each and every game. His favorite was hide-and-go-seek, which surprised me that they
hadn't even played that game before. The whole time, there was a smile on my face.

As the commotion died down, and everyone decided it was the best time to leave, I realized I had
to clean up this whole mess before my dad got home.

"Don't worry about it. I have asked for our finest cleaners to arrive in a few moments, but it will
add more to your quota." Kyoya said, leaving after that notion.

"HARUHI!" Tamaki hugged me tight. "I had a wonderful time! Thanks so much for your
hospitality!" He smiled at me, and I couldn't help not smiling back.

"I am glad to hear that." I said.

"Goodbye, My daughter!" He said over his shoulder.

Arms wrapped around me, and I found Hiro turning around to hug me. "I had a good time too,
my beauty."

"Uhh… that's good." I sat there blushing, trying to pull his hands away from me.

"Farewell." He said solemnly.

I stood there waving back to all the smiling faces of my friends. Until now I have been afraid to
call them that.

"Few, that was fun." Ko said, leaning against the door frame. "I would have to say I had a good
time too."

"I'm glad I was able to spend some time with you today, even though most of the time you made
fun of me." I stuck my tongue out at him.

"You know I was joking." He said with a frown. "Well, I better go. My mom is going to freak if
I stay out any longer." He started to walk out the door then stopped, then turned to look at me.

"What is it?" I asked him.

He stepped closer to me, closing space between us. My heart started racing, and I stood there
frozen to the spot. He leaned down until he was right in front of my face. Our faces got closer,
and closer until…

A shoe hit the back of Ko's head.

"OW!" He turned around to find a very angry Ranka behind him.

"TAKE TWO STEPS AWAY FROM MY LITTLE GIRL!" Ranka shouted. Ko did as he
said. "Turn around so I can see your face." Turning, Ranka finally recognized Ko, and another
shoe was thrown at his face.

"Dad, seriously?" My face was red with embarrassment. "Is that really necessary?"

"My Haruhi!" Dad cried, running towards me. "Are you ok? Are you hurt? I saw all those
troublemakers leaving and hurried right on up here, and just in time too." He glared at Ko.

"I guess I'll see you at school, Haruhi." Ko said, hightailing it out of there.

"Ugh thanks a lot…" I said, walking towards the bathroom.

"I am sorry, Haruhi! I thought you wanted that scary boy off of you!" Dad sobbed behind me.

"Just leave me alone!" I ran into the bathroom, thinking about again another fail of a kiss I would
have to deal with. Why does this keep happening to me?
