Maka finished reading the book she was reading aloud to Petal and noticed that the little girl was sound asleep, her head resting on her crossed arms. Maka put the book down and gently picked the girl up. Maka quietly asked Sunny where the little girl slept before walking up the stairs. She walked down the hall, before almost walking right into Soul who had just walked out of his room. He followed Maka then opened Petal's room for her and watched she slid the girl into her bed, brushing the hair away from Petal's face before closing the door behind her. Soul gave her a curious look before she met his gaze.

"What?" Soul frowned.

"I never thought of her as the motherly type." Maka shrugged.

"You don't know a lot of things about me Soul." Then with that she walked downstairs leaving a confused Soul.

"Excuse me?" Maka asked as Soul ran a hand through his snowy white locks.

"I thought about what you said...About not really knowing you and I-" Maka watched as Soul tried to form words.

"I want to really know you." He finished. Maka took a deep breath then released it before agreeing.

"Ok." Soul gave her a toothy grin, showing his shark-like teeth.

"Cool."

Maka glanced around the small Cafe that she and Soul were currently at. They sat at the back, away from prying eyes.

"How about you ask a question then I ask a question...You can pass if you don't wanna answer it?" Maka suggested. Soul shrugged.

"Sure."

"First of all...How old are you?" Maka asked. Soul blinked.

"18." Maka frowned.

"You look like you're 40."

"And you look 15 with those pig-tails."

"MAKA-CHOP!" Soul rubbed his head as he glared at her.

"For your information...I'm 17." Maka pointed out.

"Did you ever graduate high School?" Maka asked, eyeing him carefully.

"I was homeschooled, so in a way yes." Maka frowned.

"Did you?" Maka nodded.

"I skipped a couple grades so I graduated earlier."

"Smart-ass." Soul said as their drinks arrived. Maka sipped at her Iced-Tea.

"What's your family like?" Maka tensed up.

"Pass." Soul frowned.

"It can't be that bad Maka." Maka looked at him with her mint-green eyes before finally sighing.

"My mama died when I was 4 and my papa a man-whore who's the Police Detective." Maka said quickly. Soul studied her, looking for any emotion as her face was blank.

"I'm sorry to hear about your mother." Maka gave a small smile.

"It's fine." Soul released his breath as she asked him the same question.

"My father owns his own company. He owns the "Blue Bird Company". I work for him from time to time but I own a smaller company that he gave me. The "Blade Chord Recording Company." Soul said before taking a long sip of his coffee.

"My mother plays the piano and the clarinet. And my older brother, Wes, plays the violin." Maka blinked.

"I knew the Evans were rich but I didn't know that they owned the "Blue Bird" and the "Blade Chord"...Even though "Blade Chord" is small it's pretty famous Soul." Maka told him. Soul shrugged.

"What kind of music do you like?" Soul asked.

"Techno, trance, modern music." Maka answered. Soul frowned at that.

"Don't judge my music tastes! What about you?" Soul tilted his head.

"Jazz." Maka blinked then frowned.

"I never understood Jazz..." Maka then looked back at Soul.

"Can you play like the rest of your family?" Soul answered but slowly, as if unsure if he wanted to tell her.

"...piano..." Maka smiled.

"You will play one day right? Please Soul!" Soul gave her a careful look before nodding.

"My music isn't the best though Ma-" Maka cut him off.

"I'll be the judge of that when I hear it! I'll bet you're really good anyways!" Soul let a smile grace his features.

"You're really weird." Maka stuck out her tongue.

"Says the guy who kidnapped me." Maka countered.

"Hey! I did no such thing!" Soul said in a "mock" shock voice. They both erupted into laughter, causing everyone to glance at them then look away. So...that was how Soul and Maka spent their afternoon...getting to know each other.
