I DO NOT OWN GHOST HUNT
Chapter Six
Mai's P.O.V
I practically ran out of the school building dragging Rena with me.
"Hey, hey, hey!" I stopped and turned to look at her, she was panting so I let go of her hand.
"What's wrong?" I asked she pulled the ribbon out of her hair and wrapped it around her wrist.
"Nothing I'm just tired," she told me. I placed a hand on her forehead.
"You don't have a fever," I said she swatted my hand away.
"Of course I don't, you don't have to have a fever to be tired," she said.
"It's not like you to be tired," she sighed and started walking.
"Let's go I'm sure Naru will snap if we're late, and I'm sure Gene is missing me," I felt my eyes widen. My hand reached out and grasped her arm.
"What do you know about Gene, is he alright, what do you know about him?" I demanded. She pulled her arm away.
"Nothing, I meant GD," she said looking away.
"But you said Gene!"
"Hey Mai, are you sure you're not the one with the fever?" she joked touching my forehead, I giggled.
"You're probably right," I agreed.
Rena's P.O.V
"You're probably right," I looked down at the ground.
"Let's hurry up okay?"
"Sure!"
"Sure, why are you so easy to lie to?" I whispered.
"What did you say?" Mai asked looking back at me I gave her a smile.
"It's nothing," I told her I walked towards her and patted her head.
"Hey, Rena, why are you doing that?"
"Don't change okay, Mai-chan?" I suggested smiling at her she pulled away.
"What are you talking about?" she demanded blushing.
"Nothing, I was just thinking that Koujo might say something like that," I watched her reaction from the corner of my eye, priceless.
"RENA!" I started running, if she caught up it might hurt.
I walked into the SPR office and froze. Someone bumped into me.
"Rena, why'd you stop?" Mai asked I looked up at Bou-san, Yasu, and John.
"Why are you here?" I asked they gave me a nervous look.
"Well we sort of had a surprise for you," Bou-san admitted. I walked into the office.
"I'm not interested," I said Bou-san grabbed my hand and started dragging me out.
"Sorry, ojou-sama, we're not offering," Yasu told me as he followed.
"Hey, let go!" I snapped. I half heard John telling them we'd be back soon.
"We're really sorry but this is important," John told me he gave me a pleading look so I gave up.
"Have it your way idiots,"
Bou-san's P.O.V
We took her to a little park and she sat down on a bench.
"I go no further," she said. I ran a hand through me hair this was difficult.
"Here," John gave her the apple we'd tried so hard to fine. He was kneeling in front of her. "We're so very sorry for the way we acted that day, it was completely out of line for us, can you find it in your heart to forgive us?" since when did he become so bold? She seemed a little taken aback, I would be too; John was priest!
"John-san is right, ojou-sama, we didn't mean to act so rudely, we won't tell it isn't our place to," Yasu added. She was looking at her lap.
"But we only have one request, if you are going to do this, please allow us to help at the very least tell us what's going on, we don't want you getting hurt, so please don't keep hiding things from us," her hands curled up into the fist.
"You big bunch of idiots," I looked away so much for that plan. "Thank you," I looked back; she had tears in her eyes.
"Shit, stupid wind blowing, dust into my eyes," she said rubbing her eyes. "Why won't it come out?" John smiled a little and pulled her into a hug.
"It's okay to cry if you're sad or happy, you have every right,"
Rena's P.O.V
My hands curled into fists.
"You bunch of idiots," I felt the tears gather in my eyes. "Thank you," I looked up at them and their eyes widened.
"Stupid wind, blowing dust into my eyes," I complained trying to stop the tears as they continued to fall. "Why won't it come out?" I felt a hand on my head pull me forward.
"It's okay to cry if you're sad or happy, you have every right," I bit my lip for a while and then I began to really cry clinging to John's shirt. We stayed like that for a long time, John hugging me, Yasu holding one of my hands, and Bou-san with his hand on my head.
Maybe I wasn't so alone after all.
Naru's P.O.V
I watched as they took her out of the office. The cat looked at them and he looked like he was going to have a heart attack, if that were possible.
"Hey, stop worrying, she'll come back," I told him he looked up at me with those tear filled cat eyes and I had to look away. I walked into my office and left it open long enough for him to walk in before I closed the door. I sat down and he hopped onto my lap, it wasn't what I expected but it couldn't be helped Rena told me I had to take care of him. I tried working but his depression seemed to radiate off of him. I gave up and placed a hand on him while I read my book. The door to my office opened and I looked up at Moto-san.
"He's lonely isn't he?" she asked walking towards my desk and looking down at him.
"Yeah but it can't be helped," I said she placed a hand on his head, well she tried but she somehow ended up slipping and I had to reach my hand out to catch her pulling her to me so she wouldn't fall and wake up GD. She blushed and I was going to let her go when the door to my office opened. I looked up and my eyes widened.
"Rena it's not—
"Eugene," the cat jumped off my lap and ran to Rena who picked him up. She turned on her heels and walked away. I sat there stunned, what was that look in her eyes?
"Rena," I called getting up to follow her. Shit I had to steady Moto-san again. I followed Rena but when I walked out she was sitting in between Bou-san and Yasu talking with everyone else. I turned back around and sat down at my desk; I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked up at Moto-san.
"You don't want to go outside," I commented.
"No," I wasn't expecting an answer I looked up at her. She was holding her hands tight and her eyes were slightly wide with fear. I looked back at my book.
"You can stay here,"
"Thank you,"
WEEKEND
Rena's P.O.V
I was cutting vegetables for lunch. I shook my head as my thoughts flooded back to that day at the office. I spotted Moto sitting on the couch she'd grown more confidant with the trials even her personality had changed. Well with me anyway, she was getting full of herself. Especially since she knew about Gene. I'd scolded him for that but he said she wouldn't say anything. I was keeping a close eye on her.
"Hey Rena," I looked up at her.
"What is it?"I asked she gave me a curious look.
"Don't you ever think that your shiki want to move on?" I yelped as the knife made contact with my hand.
"Shit!" I wrapped a cloth around my hand; this was getting awkward very quickly.
"Why the sudden question?" I was bleeding a lot.
"Don't you think they have the right to choose?" I felt my face grow cold.
"You think Rena forced us into this?" Gene asked.
"Well—
"I'm going out for a while," I said making my way towards the door slipping my violin on my back. I stopped at the door.
"Gene can you please stay here all of you, I'd like to be alone," I said as soon as I closed the door.
But—
Please Pharaoh
I ran down the stairs and away from the building.
I was lying down on the grass of a park.
"I don't think I know the way home," I whispered looking up at the sky through my hand. I felt an emptiness begin to settle in my chest. "That cloud looks like a wolf," no answer, well that was disappointing and expected. I sat up and picked my violin up and was about to play my favorite song but I hissed in pain. My hand was bleeding, I couldn't play like this. My eyes widened at the realization I bolted up and half ran to the nearest drug store. I walked around the inside and found what I needed, peroxide, gauze, and bandages.
I was sitting on a bench trying to patch myself up. It would be rather depressing if I couldn't play the violin anymore.
"Why is that I always find you when you need help?" I looked up.
"Len-kun," I smiled a little and looked at how pitiful the situation looked.
"You remember my name?" he asked I nodded.
"Would you mind helping me?" he smiled and sat down taking over. Soon my hand was bandaged and was feeling better.
"You play the violin," it wasn't a question.
"Yes," I placed a hand on the cover.
"What happened to your hand?" he asked I flecked it a little.
"I was cooking," I reached into my pocket. "Here, I thought you might want it back," he looked at it for a while.
"You keep it, something tells me that you need it more than I do," I looked at the handkerchief.
"Well I'm not going to say no," I told him putting it back in my pocket. He scoffed.
"Do you need me to give you a ride?" he asked I nodded I knew where I was going now.
"Yes please I'll tell you how to get there," I told him he nodded and walked me towards a car, I raised an eyebrow.
"Nice," he smirked.
"Thanks,"
He pulled up in front of the club.
"Is this the place," I nodded.
"Thank you, Len-kun," I said.
"Be safe okay Rena-chan," he told me I smiled.
"I will," I walked towards the club and nodded to the security guard who let me through. I walked straight to the bar and sure enough Kazuki was sitting there talking to Takumi. He looked up and bolted up off his seat he ran to me and grabbed my shoulders.
"Rena-sama what's wrong?" he demanded. He was looking over me and I raised an eyebrow.
"Do I really look that bad?" I asked half smiling he glared at me.
"Do you really want to know?" Takumi asked I smiled at him and Kazuki glared at him. I gripped Kazuki's sleeve when he tried to go beat up Takumi, I leaned into him.
"Kazuki, do you think it would hurt less to die?" I asked softly tracing patterns into his shirt he froze. Lately I'd been thinking what if it was too late. Maybe that's what that dream meant. And if it wasn't than maybe Syaoran might hate for not looking for him sooner. He held tighter onto me.
"Don't say things like that, if you thought that you wouldn't have looked for my help," he told me. "You're twin doesn't hate you, who could ever hate you?" so I'd said that out loud. I let him hug me.
Syaoran wasn't here, Koujo had Mai, Gene was with the other shiki, and Noll. I closed my eyes. Noll I was losing him too wasn't I?
Other P.O.V
"Did you hear? Veronica's plan is working. Slowly, the other Lin twin is losing all hope."
"Does he look like he'll wake up?"
"Who knows?"
