Daily Interference Chapter 8

Chapter 8: Bring them Home

MERLIN

When the manservant awoke, he found himself strung up in chains. He panicked, not knowing what on earth was going on. Where was Arthur? Where am I? What happened? He whimpered a little, trying to scan the room he was in. His chest ached, his whole body ached. Something inside him was scratching, scratching at his insides.

His magic. It had lost control the last time he was awake. How it had done that, Merlin was not sure.

"Arth…" Merlin tried to call out. Then he remembered. When his magic let loose, he injured Arthur. That made the warlock panic even more. "Arthur!"

"Merlin…" Came the whispered reply. Obviously, the prat of a prince was sleeping, which was a good thing… right?

"Arthur," Merlin called hoarsely, trying to send his magic to wake his Prince up. His magic felt as if it were trapped. Magic chains? Of course.

Then the doors burst open.

LEON

"I want my son found, okay?" Uther roared. He had been shouting to the Knights for a good quarter of an hour about what had happened in the past twenty four hours and how Prince Stephen was no friend to Camelot.

"Yes, sire. Could you please suggest to us where he might have been taken?" Leon asked as he gazed around the council room.

"Prince Stephen comes from the land in the North East," Gaius explained. "He might have been taken there."

"Thank you Gaius. This makes things much easier." The Knight nodded in acceptance. "The knights that I have chosen will ride out at first light tomorrow at dawn." He bowed to the King and to the rest of the court before turning and leaving.

"Sir Leon." The King called. The knight froze and turned back to his majesty.

"Yes, my Lord?"

"Bring my son back. Make sure he is well and make sure he safe."

"I can't promise you that he won't be injured. From what I heard, Prince Stephen can be a cruel man."

"Just do what you can to make sure that my son if safe." The knight bowed to the King and left.

Going down the corridors towards the rooms of the knights that slept in the palace, Leon asked a passing servant to get the stable workers to prepare four horses before dawn tomorrow morning. The servant done what was asked straight away.

"Leon." A low voice called. Leon stopped and turned to see Gaius hobbling towards him.

"Gaius, how can I be of service?" The Noble asked, waiting until the old man fell into step along side him.

"I know Prince Stephen will have Arthur in the castle, but not alone. Merlin has disappeared too, it's likely that Merlin is with him. Will you bring Merlin back too?"

"I will not do that to a friend, Gaius. I will bring him back." Leon said. Gaius nodded in acceptance and turned up another corridor, clearly worried over his ward.

Now, all Leon had to do was get Arthur's most favourite Knights.

ARTHUR

When Arthur woke up, it was only semi-conscious. He could hear Merlin calling his name, and he sounded panicked. Why was he feeling panicked? Arthur wanted to open his eyes, but he no power in his body seemed to let him.

His waist line was very painful. What happened to him? The side of his head also hurt. Really what happened?

"Arthur!" A panicked voice called out. Merlin. Merlin's magic let loose, and it was powerful. The Prince could remember getting blown away….before the darkness. Was that how powerful Merlin was? Or was he even more powerful? Could he kill? Arthur wanted a full explanation and to do that, he needed to wake up.

Then a door opened. Heavy boots thundered across the cold stone floor Arthur was lying on. His eyelids snapped open and he jumped up onto his feet. A bad thing to do. He grunted, doubling over and clutching his side. He would need to inspect it, but not when angry Prince Twat was here.

"What do you want?" Merlin murmured.

"Merlin, shut up." Arthur snapped, not wanting Merlin to get hurt when he finally noticed Merlin strung up against the wall. He winced inside, knowing nothing good was going to come from this.

"That's it. Obey you're Prince." Prince Stephen snarled. Merlin said nothing more. "Guess who's coming for you? Yes, your precious little knights are coming, but that wont matter. They'll not find us."

"Don't under estimate them." Merlin chuckled.

"I could kill you now. But where would the fun in that be?" The Prince of the North East growled in laughter, stomping over to Merlin and punching him in the gut. Merlin doubled over, his face painted in anger, a thing Arthur rarely saw etched on Merlin's face.

The next thing was a blur. Merlin's leg snapped out and kicked the Noble. Arthur had to keep his laughter inside him when he toppled over, landing on the floor. Merlin's expression was mixed with a bit of shock, fear and surprise. Arthur knew what was coming now and went and stood in the way of Merlin. He was not going to hurt Merlin now. Within a few minutes, The Prince was back on his feet, shoving the Prince of Camelot out of the way, his arm stretched out towards Merlin.

"ācēocian!" The Prince roared. Merlin's breath became short and painful, a red mark appearing around his neck, like a burn, like a bruise. His lips were turning a shade of blue, his vision fading and glassy. Arthur couldn't bare it.

He ran into Prince Stephen, breaking the connection of the magic spell and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw some colour come back into Merlin's face before he fainted again.

"He'll pay for that. He will not harm me and not get away with it."

"I will like to see you try." Arthur muttered.

"I'll be back, and when I am back, he'll be sorry." The Prince grunted before turning and leaving the door, shutting it, but it didn't lock.

Arthur laughed. He had an escape plan. But first, he needed Merlin out of those chains.

Sorry guys for the wait, not much to read but I needed to update. I have had massive writer's block but I so can't wait for the next update! I know what I'm writing about and I just can't wait to put the whump in, but can you guess who it's going to be for? Of course we all know it's going to be…
