In the nearly empty roads of Tokyo, a black limo drove out of the city into the nearby suburbs. Inside of the limo, the air was tense and a tad awkward.

Unable to bear the heavy silence, Kagami posed a question.

"So, uh, when you say awakening...what does that mean exactly?"

Hiroshi crossed his leg over and leaned back into the seat.

"It means exactly what you think. Your transformation into a vampire,"

"I think what Taiga meant was; why now?" Akashi clarified.

This time, it was Masaomi who answered.

"When a child is born from a vampire and human, they are born as human and undergo a transformation at the age of fifteen. You three would've gone through it had your mothers not suppressed the transformation till you were much older,"

Akari scrunched her eyebrows in confusion and asked, "Then why now?"

"Your mothers' bond is why. I've already told you about how powerful their 'bond' was and when you three were born, they realized their bond and connection to each other transferred to each of you. So, because you three met much earlier than intended, your hidden and sealed abilities triggered each other,"

"Then is there a reason why you're so sure we'd transform tonight?" Akashi inquired.

Hiroshi tipped his head towards the window, "Look out at the sky. It's a full moon."

"Transformations only occur on a full moon," Masaomi stated. He wasn't looking at the teens when talking but at a file. If he weren't here right now, Kagami would've assumed he didn't care about Akashi with the way he treated the boy.

"There's another thing I want to know. How the hell did you know that we three were together?" Kagami leaned forward with a frown.

"We placed trackers on you. It's a highly advanced technology not released to the general public as of yet but when you were all born, we got it embedded in you," Masaomi replied in a nonchalant tone.

"Wait, you mean you've been watching our every move like...like some kind of stalker?"

Hiroshi glared at his son, "It's not stalking if it's your own children. And we did it for safety reasons. It's not like we check what you're doing every hour of the day."

Akashi didn't seem too surprised. He more or less expected this given he knew what kind of man his father was. But he also knew where Kagami's anger came from. After all, having a tracker in you just means you're being monitored wherever you go.

Akari was baffled at this news but didn't say anything and just sat there in silence.

Now Kagami wished he hadn't opened his mouth because the limo seemed tenser than ever. He just wished they'd get to the warehouse quickly.

It felt like hours before the vehicle finally entered private property. The driver came to a stop in front of a massive and rundown-looking warehouse and the passengers of the limo filed out.

Looking up at the sky, the moon was at its highest peak and there wasn't a single star in the sky.

Akari felt a brush of the cool night breeze and shivered. It was creepy out here.

Masaomi ordered the limo to wait outside the gates while the rest went in. They walked onto the stone-filled ground and glanced around as if making sure no one was following them.

Kagami was never too keen on going to such shady places given his aversion and fear of ghosts. He struggled to keep a straight face as the group made their way into the building, pushing open the large steel doors and locking them.

There was a switch on the side which Masaomi turned on and a dim light brought brightness into the dark building.

Akari scrunched her nose smelling what seemed to be sewage, rust, and mold.

"It stinks," Hiroshi said what she was thinking. "When the hell was this place last used?"

"Several years ago. We used it for storage mainly but after the place kept getting robbed, we abandoned it and moved location," Masaomi replied and glanced at his watch, "It's two minutes to midnight."

Hiroshi looked at the teens and commanded, "You three stand in the middle and keep a good enough distance from one another. Masaomi and I will be outside. And just a warning, it'll be incredibly painful so just bear with it."

"What?" Kagami and Akari asked together but the two older males had disappeared behind the door.

The three redheads looked at each other with varying expressions and stood a good two meters away from each other.

Eventually, the clock struck midnight and the moon was at its highest peak. From the broken roof, the moonlight drifted down and fell onto the three teens who all suddenly froze.

Akari was the first to collapse on the ground screaming as a hot and searing pain pierced her chest. It wasn't long before the two boys joined her, holding the pain a bit better.

Instead of screaming, Kagami let out a lot of grunts and groans as the blood in his body began heating and the cells started mutating. However, as time went on, even he couldn't help but let out some cries of pain.

Akashi could feel his muscles shifting and adjusting. His bones, his skin, his flesh – everything was changing and it was excruciating. As someone who grew up being taught to hide his emotions, he tried his best to not let his intense pain show but in the end, he couldn't hold back his wails.

After a good ten minutes, their physical appearance began changing. Their eyes became a bright red (more so than they were) and their hair grew out and became stark white. Their canines grew and sharpened and their fingernails became longer and sharper.

It felt like an eternity before the pain finally simmered down and their hair and eye colors returned to normal.

When the transformation was finally over, each of them was covered in sweat and panted. Kagami felt like he'd just finished playing an intense match with Aomine and could barely move his limbs.

Soon, the energy spent on the transformation caught up to them under the guise of tiredness and they ended up blacking out.

~Somewhere in Japan~

An old-looking man opened his eyes showcasing red pupils. His face morphed into sheer anger and he sneered;

"So, those disgusting bastards were still alive. And they've awakened,"

He waved his hand and two figures dressed in black dropped from the ceiling.

"Find the warriors in charge of eliminating the hybrids seventeen years ago. Drag them to me,"

The two figures gave a firm nod and disappeared into the night.

The man tapped his finger on the arm of his chair and closed his eyes again before smirking.

"My dear daughters, did you really think you could protect your children from me? They'll soon be joining you three in the afterlife,"

He let out a dark chuckle and looked outside.

'The moon very bright tonight.'
