At my 'home' this evening, after I had took a good nap from the somewhat long day at school, I blinked my eyes open and looked at the city clock, which read six twenty-five.

Six twenty-five?! Oh no, I was late to going to Gumball and Darwin's house! Well, at least I thought I was, since I was sort of unsure what exact time I should come over.

I quickly rubbed my eyes to get the sleepiness away and looked at myself in a piece of mirror that I had found and kept two days ago and scanned myself in the medium-sized glass.

I didn't really care how I looked that much, but I wanted make sure I didn't have any smudges of dirt on my face. I was satisfied when I found nothing and flipped my bang out of habit before putting the mirror back at its place.

I quickly flew up into the sky to find my friends' house. Even though I didn't get any proper directions on where or how to get to their house, I followed my gut as I looked down and scanned all the different houses there were on the blocks.

I dove down a little closer so I could get a better look. As minutes passed by frequently, I began to think that I was getting lost. I didn't start panicking however, but I became saddened that I didn't my friends' address in advance.

"Carrie!"

I heard a voice call my name from a very close distance. I whirled around, trying to find the voice.

"Carrie…!"

It was Darwin's voice. I turned around and looked down and saw Darwin waving his arms at me to signify that their house was where he was standing in front of. I quickly dove down from the sky until I was right beside the orange fish.

"Hi, Carrie!" Darwin greeted with a smile.

I flipped my bang. "Hey, Darwin."

I followed a happy Darwin into his house. I took a brief glance around and made a mental note that the Watterson's house was pretty neat. As soon as I floated inside, Gumball gasped and came up to me, excitedly cheering, "You're here!"

"Uh…yeah," I stated awkwardly, as I didn't know what else to say.

Without any hesitation, Gumball took my hand into his and led me upstairs. "C'mon. I'll show you my room."

When we got to his room, Gumball stood in the middle of it in a proud stance, fists on his hips with his chin up. I put my hand over mouth to hide my growing smile. The room had looked like a normal, regular room. Even though there were some clothes scattered about in odd places, I didn't mind it.

A contraption placed in the corner of the room that looked like a bed stacked on top of another bed caught my attention, as I'd never seen something like it before.

"What's this called?" I asked, floating to the top bed.

"Oh, that's called a bunk bed," the boy informed me.

I silently nodded, studying the 'bunk bed'. "This is where you sleep?"

"I sleep on the bottom bunk. That's my sister's bed," he explained as I hovered above the neatly-made top bunk.

I flipped my bang. My voice came out meek. "I like your room…"

I sighed, suddenly thinking of how it would be great to live in a house and have my own room instead of living in the abandoned area with just the open air and the black sky to be my roof at night.

Gumball must had noticed my change in mood and climbed the ladder to the top bunk and sat next to me. "What's wrong, Carrie?" he asked in concern.

"I… I wish I had my own room," I admitted in an almost whisper. "Or, m-my own house…"

There was silence between us for a little while, until Gumball finally spoke up gingerly, placing a gentle palm on my shoulder. "Well, maybe you could spend the night here for the night…"

My eyes shoot up at him, utterly surprised at his idea. "Really? W-where will I sleep?" I asked airily.

"With me," Gumball said with a grin that showed no malice or pity. Just genuine kindness.

I knew I could feel myself blushing, but thankfully the cool air circulating the room prevented my cheeks from heating up too much.

I found myself tongue-tied at his kind offer. "W-w-with you?"

"Yeah, I don't mind. You are my friend," Gumball assured, patting my shoulder.

My heart soared as a shy smile formed on my face.

"Thanks, Gumball."

"Who wants to play a board game!?" Darwin shouted as he burst into the room with a rectangular box in his hands, startling the blue cat and I apart.

Gumball let out a nervous chuckle. "O-okay, Darwin!" He then grabbed my hand to guide me back downstairs to the living-room to play the supposed board game.

I was beginning to think that this was the luckiest day of my life.
