Electrical outlet, idea from Skylark Evanson. Enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: I own nothing.
POV: Kevin
I plugged in my electric razor into the bathroom outlet. My face had been getting stubbly for the last couple days, and I liked to keep my skin smooth. I pressed the "on" button and the little circular blades started rotating and buzzing. Gently, I brought the contraption to my face and started working on the right side.
"Kevin!"
I froze. No one was supposed to be here, and I didn't recognize the voice at first. "Who is it?"
"It's Gwen, smart-ass! My power's out and I need to finish showering!" She started creaking up the stairs.
I still stood there frozen. She hadn't finished her shower yet. She hadn't gotten dressed yet. So that means-
Gwen stood before me in the doorway in, unfortunately, a hot pink bathrobe. I had been hoping for less. Her red hair was in wet strings and fell almost hideously around her face. There were still some missed shampoo suds in the back. "Get out. You can shave later."
"Why can't I stay and make sure you don't fall in the shower? It can get slippery in there."
"Ha, you're funny." She brushed past me and started the water. "Out."
Reluctantly, I put my razor down and left the bathroom. "Tell me when you're decent again so I can shave!"
There was no answer, so I assumed that she was already in the shower and couldn't hear me over the sound of the running water. I stood, leaning against the wall, waiting for her to be finished so I could finish trimming my half-shaven face.
"Come in!" came Gwen's call a few minutes after the water had shut off.
I entered, and again came across her bathrobe-clad body. I turned my razor on again and lifted it towards my face.
"Not yet. I still need to dry my hair." Gwen yanked the cord out and plugged in a hair-dryer that I didn't know I had.
"Where did you get that?" I yelled over the sound of the dryer.
"Brought it with me!"
"Can it wait a few minutes?"
"No!"
In spite of her refusal, I unplugged the hair dryer and plugged my razor back in. "Can't you use your mana to power it? Or to dry your hair in general?"
"Are you crazy?"
"Maybe." I smirked at her and continued to shave.
An orb of mana suddenly surrounded my razor and it ripped out of my hand. Gwen threw it on the tile floor and it shattered to pieces. "I need to dry my hair."
"You broke my razor!" I yelled at her.
"I know." She plugged her hair-dryer back in and turned it on.
"You broke my razor!"
No answer.
"Why the hell would you break my razor?"
She turned the power up on the hair-dryer and I kept yelling at her, when suddenly everything went dark in the bathroom and down the hall outside.
"Great, now my power's out too," I groaned.
"You shouldda let me dry my hair the first time."
