Confessions

Beck looked at Tori. She was in the same clothes she wore at the rehearsal - skintight jeans, a short boots and a sleeveless top. The evening's air cool draft covered her arms in goose bumps.

"Let's get inside. There we will be more private and comfortable." He opened the door of the RV, stepped aside and invited her in. She climbed in, still in an agitated mood. While squeezing past him, her cheeks got a little blushed, but that seemed to just increase her determination. He had to stop himself from breathing in deeply the faint scent of flowers emanating from her. Beck followed her in and sat on the bed while she nervously stood by his little table.

"Would you like something to drink?" Beck proposed, trying to be hospitable and put her at ease. She just stared him down and shook her head.

"Why did you do that?" Tori asked him. "Why did you kiss me?" She looked him in the eyes expecting an answer.

"I couldn't help myself." Beck decided that honesty was the best policy in this situation. "You looked so beautiful bathed in the sunlight. The song got to me and I lost all my inhibitions, forgot everything and I just had to kiss you." He watched her carefully, hoping for a positive reaction.

"What do you mean by you couldn't help yourself?" She shifted her gaze away from him and nervously moved her weight on the other foot. "You have a girlfriend and she is my friend." Tori wrinkled her nose adorably. "Well, kind of a friend."

"Did you like the kiss?" He tried to get a straight answer from her. 'Please Tori; tell me that you feel the same. Tell me that I didn't just got you in a third word war with Jade over nothing.' He silently pleaded.

"That's not the point." Tori was desperately trying to avoid his inquisitive gaze. What was she supposed to tell him? That she has been trying to get rid of her silly little crush ever since she spilled his coffee and his black opal eyes met hers. That when she came to plead Jade's case, all those months ago, some little part of her wanted to grab him and kiss him right where he stood. That this short sweet second in the music classroom meant more to her than all other kisses she ever had. No, she couldn't do that.

"For me it is the point." Beck rose from the bed, closed the distance between them and put his hand on her reddened silky cheek.

"Beck please!" Tori pleaded with him, her hand weakly trying to push him away. "What about your girlfriend?"

"We broke up." Her hand froze on his arm. Her eyes peered inquiringly in his. Had she heard him correctly?

"You did what? When?"

"I'm just returning from her house." His face slightly darkened at the memory.

"Jade broke up with you over one kiss?" Actually it sounded as something Jade would do. But Beck and Jade constantly quarreled and then mere hours later they were all over each other making up and making out. Tori didn't dare getting her hopes up.

"No, I broke up with Jade and it wasn't only a kiss." He tenderly caressed her soft hair. "Ever since we met there has been something between us. Something we didn't want to face." Tori swallowed nervously and made a step back.

"What something do you talk about? We are friends, just very good friends." She sounded as if she was trying to convince herself more that to convince him. Beck took a step towards her, put his hands on hers and made her meet his eyes. The touch of her hands spread warmth thru his body and filled him with resolve.

"Tori I don't know about you, but I can see now that I was attracted to you from the first time I saw you. The more I got to know you the more this attraction grew. We are not just friends; I don't usually put on a dress and jump from fifteen feet for a friend. I really didn't want to hurt Jade, but I couldn't hide my feelings anymore." He tilted her head upwards, gazed into her warm chocolate eyes and continued softly. "I like you Tori. I think I am falling for you. Every time I see you I have the urge to hug you and feel you close to me. To burry my face in your hair and loose myself in your embrace."

While he was talking Tori's lips turned into a smile. Her eyes began shining in response to the passion of his words. When he stopped talking, he felt her hands wrapping around his neck, her lips touching his. This time it wasn't a dream, this time she was not running away from him. Beck enveloped her slender waist in his arms and enjoyed the feeling of her body pressed to his. After a while their lips finally separated.

"I have dreamt about this moment too. But I never allowed myself to believe that it will really come true." Tori said. "I couldn't act on my feelings because I thought that you two are happy. I didn't want interfere or jeopardize our friendship. But if you really feel this way then know that I love you too."

Beck grinned widely and grabbed her in a tight hug, lifting her feet off the floor. He couldn't believe that someone could feel as happy as he did at the moment. Suddenly Tori's face became worried.

"It's already dark outside. I haven't been home since this morning and I forgot my phone. My dad will freak out and send half of LAPD to search for me."

"It's okay Tori, you can use my phone. After that I'll drive you home." He handed her his phone and sat on the bed waiting for her to calm her dad. After she finished she returned him his phone.

"Okay, I have to go home and do my homework." She told him smiling.

"I'll drive you there." He replied with a equally wide grin. They both got in his car and he drove off. It was a small miracle they didn't have an accident on the way to Tori's house since Beck couldn't take his eyes off of Tori. He didn't care about that, or about the reaction of their friends and schoolmates, or even about the retaliation that Jade will inevitably come up with. All he cared about was that this wonderful girl beside him had returned his feelings. He was happy.
