Chapter 6: Aggressive Assault

Once they made it to the chapel doors Kyle and Brian, made sure their submachine guns were ready, Kyle then spoke.

"Okay, there are a lot of them in there." He pointed out as they formulated a plan, "We're gonna have to rush in fast and shot, don't take a break if you can help it."

"Got it, blitz style attack, or only chance against that many enemies," Dave replied, before asking, "How do you Angela isn't in there?"

Kyle peered in carefully through the window, taking care not to be seen.

"She isn't," He replied, "I'd spot her immediately."

"Okay, let's do this," Dave replied.

"Right."

With that Kyle kicked the door open and they both charged in, guns blazing. The Ganados inside never stood a chance, with the element of surprise on their side Kyle and Dave were able to shoot down nearly all of them before any weapons could be raised by the Ganados. The Ganados that survived the initial attack recovered from the shock and grabbed their weapons, Kyle and Dave quickly reloaded and holstered their weapons they pulled out their handguns to pick off the stragglers and soon all the Ganados in the chapel were dead, after another quick reload Kyle and Dave examined the area. The chapel was fairly large and had the usual appearance of a normal church, however it obviously paled in comparison to the castle next to it, after careful examining the wall to their right they found a connecting door that would lead from the chapel to the castle, they quickly hurried through the door and entered the castle's main hall.

The castle hall was much larger than the chapel, large enough that the whole chapel could easily fit inside. The walls were made of worn stone and floor was a pattern of flagstones. Several pillars held up the upper floors, there was a large staircase that led up to the upper floors and in front of the staircase was a large, worn statue that was impossible to identify anymore. They looked around, Kyle then spoke.

"Great, this is gonna take forever," He complained.

"Kyle..." Dave began, concerned.

Kyle shook his head.

"For all we know Angie could be dead by now," He stated, before shaking his head, "They could be doing anything to her, I've gotta find her quickly."

Dave sighed.

"Well, freaking out isn't gonna help, we have to do this calmly," He explained.

Kyle relaxed slightly.

"You're right, sorry I..." Kyle began but Dave shook his head.

"It's fine, let's just keep looking," He replied, "We'll start with that room over there".

He gestured to a door directly opposite the front of the statue, Kyle agreed and they quickly headed over to the door, it was luckily unlocked and they entered. They found themselves in a smaller room, some sort of guardhouse, the only features, apart from the window, was a single chair and a chessboard. Dave walked over to the chessboard and examined it, the white king was the only white piece on the board, it was currently held in check by several black pieces. Kyle slowly approached and felt his foot hit something other than stone, he looked down, it was a black chess piece, a knight. Kyle sighed and picked it up and then placed it on the board, in position to put the white king into checkmate. Just then there was a loud rumbling sound and then, silence. Dave spoke.

"What the hell?" Was all he said.

Kyle thought for a moment.

"Sounds like it was coming from the main hall, let's check it out." He explained.

"Right."

They returned to the main hall and found, to their surprise, that the statue had moved to the side and there was a hidden stone staircase leading down somewhere.

Guns drawn, Kyle and Dave headed down the stairs slowly and eventually came to a door, it opened and they found themselves in an underground hall, it was obviously a secret base. Unfortunately they soon encountered Ganados, including a Dr. Salvador, they quickly opened fire on them. Soon Dr. Salvador was the last one standing, it got a little too close to Kyle and swung the chainsaw in an attempt to behead him. Kyle quickly dropped to the ground and narrowly avoided it, he then fired a shot straight up, passing through Salvador's chin and out the top of his head, destroying the brain, the Ganado dropped dead and Kyle stood up, leaned against the wall and caught his breath. Little did he know that the section of wall he was leaning against was actually a door, disguised as part of the wall. Also unbeknownst to him was the fact that the fake door led to the room where Angela was imprisoned, she had heard the gunfire and knew it had to be Kyle but couldn't call out to him, Fernando had been right, the room was soundproofed. Once he had recovered Kyle examined the wall and noticed something, he then stood up and turned to Dave.

"Dave, look at this?" He said.

Dave came over and saw what Kyle was pointing out, they could just make out a seam in the wall, Dave sighed.

"A door, hidden in the wall?" He stated, shaking his head at the cliché.

"Yeah, but it's electronically locked, we've gotta find the control panel, if we're gonna open it," He explained.

Angela heard this and felt hope, now there was a real chance she could get free. Kyle sighed and looked around.

"Now what?" He asked.

"There's nothing else here, let's see," Dave mused as he looked around, "There's two possible ways to go, north or south."

"We'll go south first," Kyle decided.

Dave nodded and they both headed south, away from the hidden door. Once they entered the door to the south they found that the castle was also a disguise, the room they had just entered resembled an armoury, likely used by the terrorists behind this incident as the Ganados seemed incapable of using firearms. Kyle shook his head.

"This is getting us nowhere," Kyle complained, "Is their anything further this way."

"Doesn't look like it, we better check in with HQ." Dave replied.

Kyle nodded and pulled out the radio, soon Rachel responded.

"Hey Kyle, any luck?" She asked.

"No, nothing, there's no sign of her," He informed her, "We're still looking."

Just then Amy leaned against the back of Rachel's chair and spoke.

"Don't give up you guys, she's there somewhere." Amy told them, "Oh yeah, Kyle, don't worry, she's still alive. They're not stupid enough to do something like that."

Rachel nodded.

"Yeah, she's still alive, you'll find, oh," She began and then stopped as she remembered something, "If you do come across the labs before you find Angela, just grab the sample as you pass, save you the trouble of backtracking."

"Fine, okay, we're gonna keep looking." Kyle replied.

Switching the radio off and placing it away Kyle and Dave prepared to return and search the other doors.
