She runs.
Wild. Raging. Shattered.
The storm goes on. Ash-grey clouds roll overhead, directing the beautiful symphony of howls and patters. They are promises, promises of a future and-
(just not the RIGHT kinds of promises)
When she can run no longer, she collapses onto the sloughy sand. It sinks beneath her knees and / s h e h a s n o t h i n g t o s u p p o r t h e r / she cries out. For where is he when she needs him most? Why is he not by her side, holding her hand and whispering sweet nothings into her ear and twirling a strand of her hair around his finger? She craves his touch, the sound of his voice, his bright, twinkling laughter that rings in her mind, and that contagious smile that positively absolutely totally makes her melt and causes the world to disappear. She longs to link her arm with his and skip along the beach, splashing each other with salty water as they go.
All she has left of him are their son and their precious memories.
"Run, baby, run," he whispers, grabbing her hand and tugging her along with him. Together they run down the beach just as they used to. "Don't ever look back. They'll tear us apart." (She doesn't point out that they already have.) Their fingers lock and their steps are synchronized, leaving a trail of footprints behind them. And she's smiling and laughing and asking him where he's been. But he just smiles and she giggles, feeling like the happiest girl in the world.
"Run with me, baby."
Heeey y'all :D I got a new laptop! And guess what? Her name is Clover! Sadly, it's not a Mac, but hey, it's good enough for me. I got sick of waiting. So um, this is my first story on my new computer, and I haven't gotten Microsoft Word yet; I'm just using notepad, so the um format might be a little weird ;c I don't know thooo. DIDN'T Y'ALL MISS ME? :)
Alsooo, I'll be taking requests, I think! But I'm a little overwhelmed right now, 'cause I need to keep working on First and Last and I'm thinking about doing a SYOT. But for those of you who are reading First and Last, don't worry! I won't give up on you!
Oh, and did anyone catch the reference to the song Check Yes Juliet (is that how you spell her name?) in here?
