Chapt. 1- Dieing (I wish)

Rai was staring at the ceiling. He felt its presence pressing down on him like a thousand flat rocks. This was his punishment, but what was his crime?He needed the oblivion of sleep. Just a few hours.

He dragged his duvet and pillows off his bed and out onto the balcony of his small flat. Most of the balconies in the building had cheap plastic garden furniture on them, but Rai's was empty.

Tyson had taken the news surprisingly well, but it barely dulled the pain. Tyson didn't feel the same way. Rai sighed. Great. Another sleepless night.
