Caprica. The name of a dead planet. Dead because of her.

The funny thing is she was actually happy there. With Gaius. Or at least, she could've been, if she hadn't been so obsessed with the plan. It was so beautiful, with its skyscrapers and fountains and marketplaces. Flawed, obviously – like any human creation. Or Cylon creation, for that matter.

A name given to another planet. New Caprica. A second chance. For mankind, and for Cylons too. A second screw-up.

She used to be so sure it would work, it used to seem so clear. Salvation for them all, the end of the cycle of violence. Or escalation? Yes, escalation, of course – you cannot force peace on your enemy.

Caprica. Her name. A nom de guerre she was given as a war hero. Every time she heard it, a reminder of her mistakes. The irony was not lost on her.
