Sometimes Gus would look at her and feel nothing but pity. He didn't like seeing someone so kind being treated so badly. She was such a nice lady who cared about every living thing and always saw the best in people even when everyone else could see nothing but bad. She was in his eyes an angel. Gus wasn't very popular with people and wasn't the smartest or even the bravest of creatures but he was full of heart just like her. She would look after him and his brothers and sisters; feed them, clothe them and sing to them.

She had golden hair the colour of straw and rosy lips that matched the colour of her cheeks when she blushed. She was slender in frame and ever so light footed. Her voice was smooth and when she spoke she reminded him of a symphony playing a beautiful melodic song. When she sang it would give him goose bumps and he would find himself smiling and his feet moving without his knowledge to edge closer to the noise.

She had no idea the effect she had on those around her, that those who were not pure of soul would feel jealousy because they wanted to be her and that all else worshipped her.

She wore rags charred at the seams and covered in soot however no matter what chores she did she still smelt of flowers and was still the most beautiful woman who graced the land.
