Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians or Broken by Lifehouse.
Broken was a good way to describe how Percy Jackson felt. It's like he had shattered and couldn't put himself back together. Everything that he had known about himself was in a million pieces. Some were lost and the few pieces he had didn't make sense at all.
Somewhere, in the back of his mind, there were little things he thought were familiar, but they were like the wind. He could feel them, but they were impossible to catch.
But there was one thing he had managed to grasp. A name. He held onto it tight, afraid that it would fly away. Annabeth. He saw a face with the name. It radiated warmth. The only word he could use to describe her was home.
Home. For all he knew, his home could've been Scandinavia or Mars, but his gut was telling him that home was wherever Annabeth was. And recently, he had to depend on his gut feeling a lot.
There were moments when Percy found himself falling apart. What little of his life he had managed to piece together was still fragile. The only thing that had been keeping it from shattering again was her. He held onto her, barely, but just enough.
What had he done in his forgotten life to deserve someone like her? Someone who managed to make him smile, even though he could only remember her name and face. Someone who grounded him, cleared his head, let him get through another day and hope that one day he'd remember the missing pieces.
Broken was how Percy Jackson felt, but now he knew she was there. Annabeth was waiting for him. Home was waiting for him. And he may have lost his way, but he hadn't forgotten his way home.
AN: Very short, but I love this song so much and I thought it was perfect for Percy/Annabeth angst.
I hope you enjoyed it! Reviews are welcome and appreciated!
