"Hey, Aether! Wake up! We need your body to be treated!" Paimon shouted as she is worried that Aether is sweating a lot and panting heavily. "What should I do" Paimon thought she is a fairy so she can't lift him back.
"It's impossible..." He murmured "eh! What do you mean by that? Paimon must know too!" She shouted as he just smiled. "my body is slowly disintegrating," he said as he explained that converting different energies and mixing them or forcibly using them takes a toll on his body.
He continued as Paimon stared at him and cannot say a thing.
In the past, it hasn't been a problem at all since his body is Godly. Both he and his sister is as strong as a god or even more. No one could penetrate their skin or even make them sick.
But this is different. Aether lost that godly ability of his. Both he and his sister weakened a lot that they can only resort to using the seven-element to fight the Unknown God again.
But he can't take it any longer. He wants to destroy them as soon as possible. That's why he resorts to such a thing. A dangerous way or a shortcut to gain more of his power back but of course, his body will be damaged a lot. He also knows that no one can fix it.
Only him and him alone.
Paimon stared at him for several minutes before understanding everything. "N-no way...your kidding right..." She can't take thinking of having him disappear before he even achieves his goal.
Aether just laughs at what Paimon looks like right now. "I don't regret doing it but I do regret doing it while not thinking of the outcome," he said as he remembered the day that Liyue fell because of him being late.
"But nothing can be changed now. It's already here, but there is still a way to~
Paimon cut him off.
"What is it!? What is it?! Paimon will help you!" She shouted as he could sense that Paimon mean it. "Khaenri'ah Ruins"
He told her as he explained the way the disintegration process can be slowed down by avoiding using his power for a long period. He estimates that if he did that then he will survive for another year or two.
That will only slow down the process but not stop the process. He then told her how to stop it. It is to destroy the seal. With that, he can get his godly ability back and his body won't be weak anymore.
His body is certainly strong as an Adepti or stronger than it but that is the standard of Teyvat, not his standard.
For him his body is weak. The only way for him to think that his body is strong is if he could withstand everything. Sickness, blade, powers, and even death.
Aether and Lumine are immortals. after all. They walk the universe for hunderds of years.
About the Khaenri'ah, Aether told her about its Creator. The First Ruler of the Khaenri'ah. The Kingdom is the strongest, most populated, and the most advanced nation across the world Teyvat.
No one holds a vision in there or do they have any sort of power. It is a city where everyone is equal and lives happily. They know that there is a God across the Teyvat but they never accepted to be ruled by them.
Their known achievement is...Science.
The nation grows tremendously and become the most advance civilization. One day, One of Khaenri'ah experiments escaped and went on other nations causing destructions.
The scientist barely stop it, but the dameged is too big that it anger the heavenly principle and order the seven archons to punish them.
The vote is... 5-2 the majority chooses the destruction of the Khaenri'ah. And of course, the two gods who declined this protect their own Nation against the wrath of Khaenri'ah experiments.
That Nation don't deserve to he turned into ruin after one failed experiment right? It's better to punish them because of their sin but the punishment that the God bestowed upon them is more crueler.
They destroy the whole nation.
What can a human do against a god?
Nothing
Before the Khaenri'ah even gets destroyed. They gather million of their soldiers for experimentation. It will physically and mentally enhance them to the extent that they will no longer be humans.
In fact, the experiment was success, but the subjects no longer are no longer humans. A lot of them become monsters of several sizes with human intellect and extraordinary powers. Some where like puppets who only fight because of instinct.
The instinct to protect their people even if it means sacrificing themselves.
The one who leads this project is Alchemist Gold. The Khaenri'ah knows that they stand no chance against beings that could throw a fireball using their hand or destroy a whole island. They are just ordinary humans who excel at fighting using spears, swords, bows,s or any big weapon made solely by humans while infusing aura on it to make it stronger and more durable.
But before the project even gets finished. The Kingdom has already fallen. Its royal family has already been slaughtered. That's the time Gold declared to retaliate.
Durin and several monsters sleeping had been sent to Mondstadt, Osial on Liyue, and of course, the other Nations have one too.
The Gods defeated them but hundreds of thousands died in the process. But that is not enough. They killed millions of innocent people in Khaenri'ah. Their anger boils as no one can stop them.
But that doesn't end there. A curse befalls Khaenri'ah making them suffer for all eternity.
That day is the start of "The Abyss" With only one purpose. "To destroy mankind"
One order has been passed down from generation to generation of any surviving Khaenri'ah people hiding in the abyss. "Strengthen our forces and one day we will Retaliate"
After telling it to Paimon. She is cursing a lot that what the gods did is never been right. But soon she finally gets back to her usual self. Paimon told him that Childe is well and alive and how he scared him for he thought that Childe died even though it was not. The Liyue hasn't yet been constructed but they will come back and visit soon. After all, Aether hasn't yet forgotten the promise to Ganyu.
Paimon asked Aether where is their next destination.
