Callie looked out over her balcony across the rain blurred Seattle sky. She hadn't gotten much sleep the past couple of days considering her daughter Sofia had just began kindergarten. Callie always worried about her adorable raven-haired mini me. Callie was a very protective mother, and she absolutely adored her cute daughter. Just as Callie was walking in from the balcony, her house phone rang. She checked the caller ID, and noticed that it was from the elementary school that Sofia attends.

"H-hello?", Callie answered nervously.

"Hi, Ms. Torres. This is the front office at the elementary school. On the way home from school one of the buses got into an accident. It was the bus that your daughter Sofia rides. Everything is ok, but some students, including Sofia were slightly injured. We think she has broken her arm. We have her here in the nurses office waiting for you to come get her." the woman at the front desk spoke reassuringly.

With that, Callie hung up the phone in a panic, grabbed her purse, and ran out the door and drove to the school. When Callie got there, she saw Sofia curled up and crying because of the pain in her small, broken arm.

"Hey, hey baby, I'm here. Mama's here." Callie rushed to her side and spoke calmly with tears gathering in her eyes.

"Mommy, it hurts. It really hurts!" the child screamed.

"I know. I know, sweetie. I'm gonna take you to the doctor and we're gonna get you fixed and feeling better." Callie wiped away her daughter's tears.

Callie gathered Sofia gently in her arms and into the car. She drove to the nearest hospital, Seattle Grace Mercy West.

Callie sat in the waiting room for what felt like hours with Sofia until a beautiful, blonde haired, blue eyed woman came out into the room.

"Um...Sofia?" the woman spoke in the most soft, gorgeous voice. Callie's eyes immediately shot up to its source and the air was sucked from her lungs. She had never seen someone so beautiful. Callie's eyes were locked onto this beautiful goddess of a woman.

"Sofia?" the blonde spoke again.

Callie immediately snapped out of it.

"O-oh. Yeah, sorry. That's us." Callie was embarrassed for staring much too long and picked Sofia up and followed the woman into one of the back rooms. Even from behind this woman was indescribable. Her soft, toned curves visible even though they were hidden under not so flattering scrubs. Even then, Callie seemed to think her scrubs were incredibly hot. As they reached the back room, the blonde extended her hand and introduced herself.

"Hi, I'm Arizona Robbins. Chief of Pediatric Surgery." Arizona smiled. Her smile was the brightest and biggest Callie had ever seen. It was adorn with killer dimples, which took Callie's breath away. It seemed to light up a room, hell, it made Callie feel better, even in the current situation.

Callie extended her hand to Arizona's "Callie Torres."

Their hands touched and it sent a shock through both women. The way each hand molded to the other. The softness of both. Both women just started at each other, mesmerized. The handshake lasted longer than either women thought, and Arizona nervously pulled her hand away, not wanting to. She wished she could hold this stranger's hand forever.
