As he was the day he was born, he waited

To see her as she was the day she was born

The moon agape, hovering in the sky

Reflecting on the nameless ocean

Lapping the rocks upon which he sat

With gentle force

The flicker of torchfires reflecting on his face

The eternal roar of the great waters falling softly upon his ears

As he watched her figure swaddled in red veils

Writhing with languorous precision

On her feet

Her back

Her belly

The red slowly giving way to red

And alabaster

Flesh to his flesh

Flesh to her flesh

Bound together in undulating serenity

In the surging swell

The great ocean's waves

That could not quench their veins

Filled with fire

Blessedly echoing

Heart throbbing into heart

Spine pulsing into spine

Limb twining around limb

Eyes shutting to see

She became he

He became she

She no longer he

He no longer she

In the vast wave

Of the world's breath

They surfed the cosmos

New mysteries unveiled before them

Now constellations among the multitude

Of fiery stars

The universe surging through them

In an everflowing stream

Of cosmic ecstasy
