How Cam was here, he had no idea. He was dead wasn't he? So why was he standing in his girlfriends room, watching her bawl her eyes out?

I'm a ghost. He concluded. It's been two weeks since he first found that he could visit his family and friends, so what other explanation was there? None that he could think of. Why was he able to visit these people, visit Maya though? They couldn't see him. Maya couldn't see him. And it broke his heart every time he watched her cry, but he found that he couldn't leave her.

He loved her so much, he never meant to put her through this pain. He thought his being gone would be better for her, she wouldn't have to deal with him and his problems. But now, as he watched her sob hysterically again, he realized what a horrible mistake he had made.

But it was too late.

Maya wanted to hate him. She wanted to hate him so much for leaving her. But as she sobbed into her pillow, she knew she could never hate him. She loved him, so much more than anything. And even though he left her, she couldn't hate. She couldn't.

When it happened, she was in denial. Then she got mad and stayed mad until the day came when she just couldn't take it anymore and broke down, crying into her sister's shoulder. She had said that she hated him, that she didn't want to miss him anymore. She didn't mean it. She loved Cam and if she stopped missing him, she would eventually forget him. She didn't want to forget. Missing him meant she still had her memories of them together, and she never wanted to lose them.

Squeezing Hoot to her chest, she tried to calm herself down. She was crying so much, it was getting hard to breath. But, it felt hard to breath anyway.

Sitting up in her bed, she wiped her eyes. She was thankful that she had the house to herself, so no one could hear her breakdown again. It's not that she was embarrassed by her tears, she just didn't want her family to stress over her. As much as she appreciated their support, she knew it was hurting them to see her so sad all the time.

"Oh Hoot." Her voice cracked, her eyes filling up all over again. "I miss him so much."
