"Is Batman Back?"

"The Dark Knight Returns!"

"Reports indicate he was throughout the east side last night, fighting the crime wave that-"

"-with the death and unmasking of former Batman, Damian Wayne many are left speculating-"

"What does this mean for Gotham?"

"With us we have Diana Prince, Ambassador of Earth to over a dozen other planets she once fought alongside Batman as the dynamic and beautiful Wonder Woman."

"Jai West, retired superhero and author or "Life in a Flash."

"Harley Quinzel author of "Behind the Smile: A look into the Mind of America's Madman.""

The three large screens played the videos simultaneously beside each other. "I believe whoever is wearing the mask should give it up. Batman is a legacy that has been tainted enough." Diana was still radiant, she barely aged these last decades.

"People do it because they want to help people, because they think they can, maybe this new Batman has what it takes."Jai West was already a man himself, and he looked so much like his mother.

"This city is still a warzone, always has been, always will be." Harley Quinn is old, and for years now she has appeared on TV arguing against Batman and how its his fault the city is the way it is. Dick Grayson disagreed. He know that a couple of decades ago James Gordon Jr. poisoned the cities baby forumla with a drug that would bring out the worst in people. Maybe it actually worked. Maybe this all traced back to that on case, and maybe it was Dick's failure.

"I'm done."

Dick spun around in his chair to see his son, dripping wet and without a cape. "That was fast."

"Long story, but thats not the first time I was stuck in a refrigerator." His son's jaw drops, his eyes on the screen and Dick spins around.

"HahahaAHAHAHAHAhaha... hahaha..." the cameras cut away but Dick sees enough.

"Suit up, we have to go back out."

"The sun is up."

"We don't have a choice Andrew. The anyone with joker gas is an immediate threat."

Three canisters were set off remotely over the internet each with a localized encrypted hotspot. Proxy managed to hack into it after some work and the two Batman were quickly on their way to figuring it out. The Sun had set now and the two men had not slept in over 50 hours.

Proxy's discoveries lead them to a warehouse.

"I'm not picking any heat signatures up."

"Dick, I'm getting a message from Diana on the old JLA frequency, shes okay but understandably pissed." Oracle spoke to the Batmen. "She wants in the mission."

"How does she know we'd get the mission?"

"She's not stupid."
"Give us five minutes, then tell her."

"I've got it." Andrew says from behind the binoculars. "Not sure why by he's running cold, it might be cloaking himself somehow. "

Dick nods. "We're going in, Babs, whoever this is, we can't risk-

"Someone else is there, attacking him!"

"Move!" Dick orders and they grapple upwards, swinging over the gap and through a large glass window.

"Always with the entrance!" A voice crackled in the darkness.

The warehouse was dark and their target exchanged blows with a man in a cheap black and purple armor. Their target was wearing a metalic suit and wore make imitating the joker. The vigilante was younger then Andrew, and carried his punches too long, putting too much power behind a punch that shouldn't be more then a jab.

Dick thought of all the times he had met that madmen on the streets, in the air, at sea, underground. How many times he had killed and gotten away with it, a part of him always wished Bruce would have killed him but in the end it was his own lover, and he got robbed of the fight he always wanted. The fight were he would either kill Batman, or Batman would kill him.

To bring back the memory of that man was an insult to everything the Batman ever stood for and Dick delivered a kick from the air, but the man just smiles, and falls stiff.

"Did you?"

"No, Dominic, I didn't kill him. He poisoned himself. He never planned on getting out of this alive."

The younger Batman stepped towards the third vigilante, "Dominic Grayson?"
