Chihiro woke up. She felt like she was hit by a truck full of bricks and itching powder that caught on fire. She sat up with her head ponding. She was expecting to wake up in her room in her bed, but she realized that this wasn't her bed when she realized how uncomfortable she was. She looked down…There was a person underneath her. She almost freaked out…but then she realized it was Naoi. Lots of realizations…

She looked at his face. He was so adorable when he was sleeping. She reached out to move his dark green hair from out of his face. She had the irresistible urge to touch it. She reached out to touch his cheek, but when her fingertips touched the cold skin she pulled back. but then she tried it again, and this time she rested her palm on his cheek. His cheek was cold, but when her hand rested on it, there body heat began to even out, and soon enough it was the same temperature. A hazy blush formed a crossed her face.

She probably would have sat there longer but then his eyes opened. At first he didn't reregister that his best friend/crush was sitting on top of him. And it took her a while to completely wake up from her haze. He blinked and looked up at her and they locked eyes. "Chi?" He said. They both turned a bright red. Then Chihiro retracted her hand from his face, freaked out, and fell in the process. "Naoi I am sooo sorry." She said sitting on the floor. He touched his cheek.

"It's okay, I know my face is attractive." He teased, that only made her blush even more. "Naoi!" She cried in an embarrassed tone. He laughed. "Ow…" Chihiro said grabbing her head. It was a little bit too soon to act silly. He frowned as he saw the bandage on her forehead and her swollen cheek. "Chi…" He said. She touched her own cheek, looked at him then smiled. "It's okay, the swelling will go down once I started moving and stuff…like usual." She Said.

Naoi raised an eyebrow at her. "like usual…" He thought. She stood up. He cringed when he saw all the cuts and bruises. She looked down at herself. "Well I can't go to school like this…" She said. That's when a humming mother came in. "Good morning kids! Hope you slept well!" She sang. "Yeah…" Naoi said standing up. His mom walked over to Chihiro. "Here Chi, I found this uniform from when you left it over here, you can where this…" She said. Chihiro smiled taking it from her. "Thank you." Chihiro said.

Her mom looked at Chihiro's body. "And…" She said holding out some other clothes. "I figured you would want to cover yourself up right?...You don't have to if you don't want to. I hope I didn't offend you or anything." She said. It was a pair of black tights and a school jacket. Chihiro smiled. "Not at all…thank you." She said taking it. His mom smiled. "Well kids you better hurry if you want to make it to school on time." She said in her sing song voice again. Naoi and Chihiro nodded. When Chihiro got dressed she walked into the kitchen/dining room. Koichi was sitting at the table. "Good morning Chihiro!" He said all ready for school.

Chihiro smiled at him. "Good morning!" She said. Ever since she got her memories back she was always so happy to see Koichi alive. Then in came Naoi. "Morning brother!" Koichi said. "Yeah, morning." Naoi said lost in thought. Then Chihiro gasped. "Crap…" She moaned. "What is it?" Asked Naoi and Koichi. "My school bag! It's in my room!" She said. She turned pale. Naoi walked up to her. "Don't worry she's gone at this time of day right?" He said putting a hand on her shoulder.

"She doesn't normally go to 'work' after we fight." She said. Naoi looked at the floor. Chihiro walked out of the kitchen. "Where are you going?" Naoi said. "To get my bag." She said putting on her shoes. Naoi's eyes widened. "You can't go back now! She'll kill you if she catches you." He said. She froze with chills, that was more true than it should be. But she shook her head and put on her other shoe. "I can't go to school without my bag silly." She said her voice shaking. She reached for the door knob, but Naoi stopped her. "I'm not going to let you go." He said. She looked up at him. "Then what do you think I should do? I can't just go to school and be like "Oh my aunt beat me to a freakin bloody pulp so I couldn't go get my bag" Now can I? They'll send her to jail and I'll be gone! I'll never see you, or Koichi, or your mom or even your dad ever again!" She snapped. He froze. Looks like he wasn't the only one who had been thinking about it.

He sighed. Then he got an idea. "I'll get it!" He said. Her jaw dropped. "Naoi! Are you crazy?" She whispered. "Maybe…." He said opening the door. She grabbed his arm. "No! If she catches you she'll sue your dad for trespass." She said. "Then I won't get caught." He said still walking out the door. "But you can't just go through the front door!" She said. He Started to climb the fence "Who said anything about the front door?" He said. "Naoi!" She Said. But he was already over the fence and in her back yard. "Idiot." She whispered.

Naoi snuck through the back yard avoiding all the windows. He peeked into the front yard and sure enough her car was home. He sighed. Then snuck over to her aunts bedroom window. The blinds were shut but he put his ear to her window. He could hear her snores from a mile away. He gave a breath of relief and went back over to Chihiro's window. He pulled the spot on the screen that Chihiro showed him when they were ten years old when she snuck out to have dinner with his family, the screen popped right out. He carefully placed it down on the ground and quietly opened the window. He then snuck into her room. He looked around. Her room colors were pink and white.

There were only a select few times he had been in her room. Most of them where when he was younger… He pretty much knew where her main stuff was. He turned and saw her school bag next to her dresser. He cringed at the sight of the dresser. Everything on top was scattered and there was blood on the bottom shelf were she hit her head, there was also blood on the floor where the glass shattered. She hit the dresser so hard that the other two draws were slightly opened. He hurried and grabbed her school bag…But then he remembered his mom telling him this morning after he got out of the bathroom that Chihiro was going to stay with them for a little while.

He put the school bag down in front of the window and went over to her closet. In side it were some boxes full of old stuffed animals, dresses, and her other two school uniforms. He grabbed one of the biggest bags she had and through it onto her bed. He neatly put the uniforms in it and one of the dresses just in case. He walked over to her dresser.

He opened the first draw, there were tee-shirts and stuff he neatly grabbed the first stack and put it in the bag. He opened the next draw. Jeans skirts and shorts….Since it was summer she'd need shorts…But she probably wants jeans too. "Come on Naoi! Think like a woman!" He told himself. He grabbed a couple pairs of each thing he thought matched the shirts. Then he was about to open the third draw. He hesitated. Not because of the blood on it, but because there was only one possible thing that could be left in it.

Pajamas…and undergarments.

He stood there for a moment with his hands on the handles. "It's just underwear! You get moms mixed up in your laundry sometimes! " He thought. He shook his head. "But this is Chihiro's underwear…." He whispered. He took a deep breath. "Stop being a perv! It's not like you're going to imagine her in it or something" He told himself. He took a deep breath and opened the draw.

Panties….panties everywhere.

He was slightly fazed. Then he got his act together. He grabbed the first pair. They had a straw berry design with green ribbon on the top. "Well these are cute…" He said to himself. Then blood ran out of his nose. "'not going to imagine her in her panties' huh? You lied to yourself!" Said a voice in his head. Naoi threw himself back. "I'm not a perv. I'm not a perv. I'm not a perv. I'm not a perv. I'm not a perv." He kept telling himself. He sat up and wiped the blood from his nose. But it was just sooo hard not to imagine, "Oh chi why couldn't you have plain white panties?" He whispered. He just grabbed the bag and dumped the whole draw into it.

"There…" He told himself. Then he heard footsteps from the other side of the house. "Time to go!" He said throwing the bag and school bag out the window and jumping out it. He quickly but quietly shut the window and popped on the screen. He picked up Chihiro's things and ran for his house. Chihiro was waiting on the porch. She walked over to him. "Finally! I was getting worried." She said. "Piece of cake." He said handing her the things. "I grabbed you some things to stay over…" He said. "Thank you" She said taking it from him.

"Well its almost time to go, ima grab my bag." He said going in. "Okay." She said. Then she opened the big bag of clothes. He seemed to have got everything she would need….But what's up with the excessive amount of underwear?

"Bye mom we're leaving now!" Said Naoi as they were off to school. Chihiro looked around. "Where is Koichi?" She asked. Naoi and Chihiro started walking. "He had to go to school early for a club." Said Naoi. "Oh, sounds like Koichi." Said Chihiro. "Does the SSS have a club meeting today?" Chihiro asked. "In school or out of school?" He asked. "Both" she said. "I don't think so, you never know with Yuri though." He said casually.

Chihiro started to talk about something, but he zoned out. He saw her hand. It was so small a sleek. He touched his cheek. He remembered when he woke up this morning with her touching his cheek. It was soft and smooth. He really wanted to hold her hand. He wanted to hold it all the way to school. But he didn't dare try it. Why wouldn't he do something? Why didn't they talk about it? He just stared at her hand and then she stopped walking. "Naoi? Are you alright?" She asked. He didn't realize he was lagging behind her.

"Yeah, sorry I just zoned out." He said. She looked at him for a moment, but then she smiled. "If you say so!" She said. He sighed, He was slightly aggravated with himself. That would have been the perfect moment to say it. What if she was waiting for him? After all, she did confess her love twice. So the rest of the way to school way silent, besides the usual conversations they had every morning. They hardly ever talked about the SSS before the second chance. None of them did, but of course all of them were always thinking about it. How could they forget?

The teachers always thought it was weird. All of the SSS members became friends and came up with their club on the first week of high school. It was weird because most of them came from different schools. The SSS was a Community Service club…basically a club that helped out the community in a bunch of ways. Naturally Yuri was against it, she wasn't one for community service. But what else could their club be? An Academic Club? Certainly not considering most of them were complete morons.

But since Yui was unable to attend school like normal kids….The SSS had a group outside of school, which Yuri liked much more. Naoi had fallen asleep on the bus ride. Chihiro looked at him, and then laughed silently. He must have woken up a lot last night. That's just how he was, always worrying. When the subway let them off, Hinata, Otonashi, and Kanade were waiting for them. Kanade and Otonashi were holding hands. For a moment Naoi envied them, but then Hinata interrupted his train of thought.

"About time you got here! What took you so long brat?" He said putting Naoi in a head lock. "Idiot let go of me, I'm not afraid to use my hypnotism in public…" Naoi said. "Would you quit lying about that? That's just not possible in the real world." Hinata said not letting go. "You wanna bet, toilet paper?" Naoi said. "You two are pathetic!" Otonashi said. "It's not my fault Otonashi! The idiot started it!" Naoi said. "Exactly, you started it." Hinata said. Chihiro started to giggle.

"Good morning Chihiro." Said Kanade in her soft voice. Chihiro turned to Kanade. "Good morning Tachibana!" Chihiro said. Kanade looked at Chihiro's appearance. She thought it was odd. And she saw the large bandage on her forehead. She looked up at Otonashi. He nodded showing he noticed too.

"Come on Idiots! You're going to be late for class!" Said Yurippe walking with Noda and Iwasawa from a distance. "Coming!" Otonashi called. "Let's go guys." He said. They all nodded and followed.

So lunch time began and Chihiro sat in the corner of the room not in any rush to get up which wasn't usually like her. "So her garment is a little weird for summer time." Said a familiar voice. Naoi looked up. It was Otonashi. He sat next to Naoi. "Yeah…" Naoi said. "The Aunt?" Otonashi asked. Naoi nodded. Otonashi sighed. "That bad huh?" He said looking at Chihiro. "Yeah…" Naoi said. "What happened?" He asked. Naoi shrugged. "Not my spot to tell…In all honesty I really don't know, she hadn't told me. And the part I saw I rather not repeat. All I can say is it's gotten to the point where my parents are letting her stay at my place for the next couple days." Naoi said.

Otonashi looked at him. Then nodded. "Okay…" He looked at Chihiro. "Shouldn't we go talk to her? She looks sad." He said. Naoi sighed. "You can try all you want, but as soon as you get two feet in front of her she'll smile and act normal…" He said. "Well I'm not the only one who's noticed…Kanade and Hinata were wondering too. And look around you." Otonashi said. Naoi did. Quite a few people were huddled over whispering looking at Chihiro. "There's gonna be a lot of talk…Its been awhile since Chihiro's come to school this bad." He said. Naoi nodded. "I know."

Chihiro stared out the window. She was so SO happy she got a second chance, but she sometimes wished she had gone to heaven. She felt her bandage. Her Aunt's voice rang in her head. "it's your fault your parents died that day!" Chihiro put her head on her desk. "You're a worthless little bitch!" She wanted to close her eyes and pass out

"Iwasawa!" Naoi and Otonashi said as the young female guitarist stopped in front of them. She tucked her short chin length pink hair behind her ear. "Hey…" She said. "What's up?" Otonashi said leaning back in his chair. "I wanted to ask about Chi…" She said. Naoi looked at his desk and frowned. Of course everyone wanted to know, but Iwasawa of all people was one of the ones who deserved knowing EVERYTHING that happened. Besides Naoi, Iwasawa knew Chihiro the longest then anyone in this school. And Chihiro was like a little sister to Iwasawa.

Otonashi remembered how Chihiro reacted when Iwasawa was obliterated. He never seen her so violent, Chihiro even hated Yui for a while when she replace Iwasawa in the band. Naoi looked around to make sure no one was listening in, than he waved Iwasawa to come closer. She Put her hands on the desk and leaned in.

"…Yesterday night I heard her aunt yelling at her, I think Chihiro forgot to clean a room or something, There were crashes and shattering noises so I ran over there." He whispered. Iwasawa nodded. "When I got there and looked through the window, She was beating the life out of Chihiro when I got in there Chihiro was on the floor, I stopped her and brought Chihiro over to my place…Chi doesn't want to call the cops because she doesn't want to leave the SSS…" Naoi whispered.

Otonashi's eyes widened….That was way more information than Naoi told him. But he understood why. Iwasawa's hands curled into fists. "That bitch…" She whispered. "Maybe you should talk to her Iwasawa! She trusts you the most and you understand where she's coming from the most considering violent homes." Otonashi said. Iwasawa looked at her Chihiro. She weakened at the sight of the beat up girl. "Yeah…I should, but it'll be after school." She said.

After lunch Chihiro got a note

"Walk with me after school

So I think I'm having a little bit too much fun with the afterlife ._. So chapter 6 and on is now known as "Angel Beats: Repeat" I would make a separate it into a different fanfiction, but it's still about Naoi and Chihiro X3 soooooo live on "A Lost Heart" ! I'm also probably gonna watch some episodes over again to get a grasp on their personalities again ^^; I think I'm doing a great job though! Im just having a hard time making it funny… I think once TK and Noda and a select few others come in it will be less dramatic and more funny :3
