Chapter 1 - Giving Unstable Teenagers Godlike Power!
Pop.
Oh. The teleportation thing worked.
As my eyes open, I notice that as I open my eyes and I see the Earth. A large beautiful ball of life, pain, triumph and failure. Yup, that's definitely humanity in a nutshell.
I guess I should introduce myself? Hi there! Alex Tian, of… I think the Earth y'all are currently on? Appreciater of Pokemon, comic books, cartoons, anime, and sports.
Yes, one of these is not like the other. I'm the nerdiest jock you will ever meet.
Now that the intro's over… I gaze at the blue marble humanity calls home.
You know, I picked the moon as my starting location because I wanted the extra Character Points from the CYOA page, and my powers could help me survive the hostile environment and get me down to Earth easily. I think I'm glad that I got to see this. A reminder of what I came here to do.
I put out a ping for the secret base I arranged for. Using the Blue Lantern Rin- wait what?
Oh. I was wearing a Blue Lantern Ring. For those not in the know, it's a Green Lantern Ring.
But blue.
You can throw your eggs now.
Okay, but, for real (HI RYUJI) it operates off the emotion of hope instead of willpower, and is more focused on support than offence.
It can create constructs, gives its user flight, enhanced durability and strength, and can provide mass healing and buffs, like Othala, but better. But it's not for me.
I glanced at my other wrist, and on it was a white smartwatch with green highlights on it and a black screen. The Omnitrix. A device capable of blowing up multiple galaxies if sabotaged. It allows its user to transform into any alien… if I didn't give it a handicap because I needed the extra points.
Coincidentally it's also not for me. Hey, I just need to apologize to Taylor for nerfing her powerset.
"Activate Seeker protocols."
As I finish the command, I perform my first transformation. My body shrinks, and becomes red and blue. I look like an oversized rubber-ducky, but those in the know realize that I'm not made of rubber.
"Porygon-2!" I call out… or at least try to. Vacuum of space, nearly forgot about that.
The Blue Lantern ring and Omnitrix fly off to find their wielders. I think you can guess who's getting one of them, and the other is inspired by that fanfic with Captain Kaleidoscope. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense.
Now some might say handing over actual power over to a kid who- oh fuck she's older than me in my current body. I am… 16, by about a month.
Anyway, Taylor. Tremendous power. Given to a girl who was able to kill the closest thing Earth has had to a walking god (besides the Endbringers) with frickin bug control.
Was it possibly a bad idea? ABSOLUTELY.
Did she deserve something as grandiose as it after what had been done to her? …refer to above answer.
Taylor
"Somebody please!"
The stench of the locker was bad enough outside. Inside it?
Again, I feel vomit rising in my throat. How many times could I throw up my breakfast? I morbidly wonder about breaking the world record for doing so.
I spit out chunks of puke yellow, and finally lose the will to fight.
"Please… someone…help me…"
CRASH!
What was that noise? It sounded like it happened really close to m-hrgh.
I'm about to hurl again, but the door to my locker flies open. I fell about 5 yards into a crater right outside the locker.
As I try to get up, I puke again, and a green light floats in front of me. A white wristwatch is… floating in the air?
Before I could react it started to speak.
"Seeker protocols for Omnitrix completed. Locking on to User Taylor Hebert."
The watch flies onto my wrist… and I start to feel faint.
"ERROR! ERROR! User in critical condition! Activating failsafe protocols!"
I black out soon after.
Alex
As for the other… She's drowning. She's in a bad situation, and when future circumstances make it worse, not only is the world determined to drive her insane, things from other worlds are trying to drive her insane (go fuck yourself, Queen Shaper). Hopefully, the ring will help stabilize her mental health, while giving Panacea a chance to be Amy for once.
Amy
"Ms. Dallon!"
My eyes snap open. I look up and- oh I've fallen asleep in class. Again.
Vicky glances over, from the next desk over, concerned. My heart swells at affection, which is then instantly joined by guilt.
"Sorry, Mr. Brown, I didn't get much sleep last night."
Mr. Brown frowns. "Ms. Dallon, you need to start taking care of yourself."
I put on a fake smile and start agreeing with everything Mr. Brown says. Fastest way to get him to shut up.
And that's when things got weird.
Suddenly, a blue light flies through the window, nearly beaning Mr. Brown in the head. Vicky rises from her desk, ready to swing at something, and my classmates jump below their desks. Well, the smart ones at least. There are some idiots getting their phones out to record being attacked by a parahu-
The laser beam turns at a 90-degree angle and goes towards me.
I raise my hands to cover my face… and nothing happens.
Slowly peeking at the light, the laser trail was gone, and the light seemed to contain… a ring?
It was made out of blue material and had an indescribable logo carved attached to the top of the ring. Actually, it kind of looked like a janky Tie Fighter, from those Earth-Aleph space movies.
It could also talk.
How do I know this?
"Amy Dallon. You have the ability to instill great hope."
That's why. As I'm contemplating a response (or just trying to figure out how to move my mouth after witnessing such a bizarre situation) the ring flew onto my finger.
My clothes changed to my hero costume, but instead of the white robes, with red trim, the robes were now blue, with the red trim being replaced by white.
"External mental factors removed."
I started to float off the ground and looked at Vicky. She looked just as stunned as me. Emotionally for me? There was still love, sure, but it was sibling love, not "god she's so hot I wanna fu-"
"Welcome to the Blue Lantern Corps."
"... what?"
"The Blue Lantern Corps is a peacekeeping organization responsible for the medical and supportive duties. Members utilize the Blue Lantern ring, which is fueled by the emotion of hope."
I have… a ring that can heal people with hope?
"Affirmative."
AND IT CAN READ MY MIND!?
"Affirmative."
I glanced at the classmates recording what was going on.
Eh, I can deal with Carol later.
"WHAT THE FU-"
Alex
Why do I feel like somebody's going to be really mad at me?
Anyway, I Teleport into my secret base, located in a pocket dimension. This was going to be fun!
