Broken Hearts Combined Chapter 11: Taking a 'Leep' of Faith
The Jade Realm A realm of Magic A realm of the old ways A realm of possibilities, a chance to better oneself That is what Ranma and Britanny are after
When the spell Theo had cast is complete, Ranma and Britanny are teleported from the Diggers mansion of earth to the starting point of their quest in Jade. An area known as 'Leep's Point' in the Dim Crag Mountains
Ranma and Britanny look at their surroundings. They are literally at the bottom of a mountain near a mountain range Brown stone that goes as high as the eye can see Around these mountains, the area is grassy, with no signs of life for miles
Ranma then turns to Britanny.
Ranma: So Britchan, do you know who the "Ol' Geezer" Master Julia was talking about is?
Britanny (Thinks for a moment before speaking): Hmm I think so But I'm not sure
Ranma: Oh?
Britanny: I think mom was talking about Master Leep.
Ranma: Who's 'Master Leep'?
Britanny: From what mom would begrudgingly tell us, he was the master, and teacher in martial arts. He's supposed to live in these mountains, which are near Seer's Hamlet
Ranma: Seer's Hamlet?
Britanny (Nods her head): Yeah. Seer's Hamlet is one of the four major cities in the world of Jade.
Ranma: Okay So, we climb up there and meet this Leep?
Britanny: I do believe so. Mom said this was the starting point of our quest
Ranma (Blinks): 'Our' quest?
Britanny: Yeah. Mom sent you on this journey, and because you're my 'master', I got to go with you, so it's our quest.
Ranma: Okay Well, let's get started Hey Britchan
Britanny: Yeah?
Ranma (Smiles): RACE YA'!
And so Ranma takes off climbing at a fast pace.
Britanny: HEY! I'll show you!
And now both Ranma and Britanny start climbing the mountains at a fast pace, trying to see who can reach the top first.
After climbing up a good couple of vertical miles, Ranma and Britanny take a rest on a ledge. Both are out of breath from the energy they exerted while climbing.
Ranma (Breathes heavily): Man That, HUFF Was cool I, PUFF Beat you!
Britanny (Breathes heavily): Only because you, HUFF, cheated! PUFF
Ranma: Takes on to know one
Britanny: Hey! I do NOT cheat at anything!
Ranma: Oh really Well what about the time we were racing around the house and you tripped me with your tail?
Britanny: That was an accident!
Ranma: I'll bet it was (Smirks). Especially when you pounced me right after and tried to tear of my shirt, while rubbing yourself all over me
Britanny: Hey! You fell in the mud And I had to get my scent back onto you Besides You know you liked it Puuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Ranma then blushes a deep crimson as soon as Britanny does that. Britanny smiles at Ranma's reaction and then kisses him on his right cheek, and he blushes an even deeper shade of red. Britanny then eyes Ranma and smiles at him mischievously
Britanny: Oh Ranchan Want to take a break? I mean, we're in no rush to get up to Leep's Point, Right? Puuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Ranma then begins to sweat. Britanny is staring to come onto him again And the worst part is, he doesn't really know how to handle Britanny's actions, so he does what he usually does Treats it like a challenge
Ranma: Um Britchan
Britanny (Huskily): Yes Ranchan?
Ranma: RACE YA'!
And with that, Ranma is once again climbing the cliff at an incredibly fast pace.
Britanny (Stares in shock, then blinks): DAMN IT RANMA! GET YOUR BUTT BACK HERE NOW!
And so Britanny chases Ranma up the mountain again
Finally, after some more climbing, they make it to what appears to be the top. They look around in awe. All the mountains are so close together, that it's shaped to have many valleys within it, and a few 'smaller mountains' within it. There's vegetation of some sort almost everywhere Except where there are the definite outlining of buildings, and when there are actual steps carved into the rock. Before them lays a pathway through the mountain valley and to a large fortress-like area
Ranma: Is that Leep's Point?
Britanny: I think so
Ranma: Well, let's get going The sooner we get through, the sooner we can find out what I'm supposed to do.
Britanny: What WE'RE supposed to do, you mean.
Ranma: Right. Sorry Britchan.
Britanny: No problem
And so Ranma and Britanny walk together along the clear stone pathway to get to the fortress. When they get there, they can see A LOT to it. The walls are at least 20 ft high and seem to be carved from the stone, and mixed with woods and metals. There are large tower-like structures jutting out at different points throughout the area, all of them are done in a tube-like shape, with a larger cube on top, with all sorts of support beams connecting the tube shaped part of the towers to the cube shaped parts. These towers are also the size of a four-story building.
Ranma is amazed by something else he notices as well. He feels many, MANY powerful auras going off at once, exerting all sorts of energy into the environment around it. This is definitely a place a warrior would go
Ranma Britanny: Wow
Ranma: Britchan
Britanny: Ranma, if you say "race ya'!" one more time, I am going to kick your ass all the way to the middle of this fortress
Ranma: Okay
And so Ranma pounds on the large gate of the fortress. It is slightly taller than the rest of the fortress, at about 25 ft. Suddenly, two female warriors with staffs jump down from atop the gates. Both are fair-skinned, and brown eyed, but one has long blue hair and the other short brown hair. Both girls wear a skimpy green cloth outfit that is a hybrid of a tunic and a gi top with a gold trimming, and green bracers on their legs, with the same gold trimming on the part of thee leg-bracer that is near the knee. The Brunette walks towards Ranma and Britanny.
Brunette: Okay you two! Who are you and what are you doing here at Leep's Point?
Ranma: Um I am Ranma Saotome, student of Julia Diggers, and I came here to see Master Leep, so that I could
Brunette (Interrupts): WAIT! Did you say "student of Julia Diggers?" As in Armsmaster Julia BRIGAND-Diggers!?
Ranma: Uh Yes And this girl here is my friend, Britchan.
Britanny (Waves her hand): Hello! I'm Britanny Elin Diggers. Adopted daughter of Julia Brigand-Diggers. And you two are?
The brunette and blue-haired girls stare at them in wide-eyed awe
Ranma (Confused): Um Hello?
Britanny: Are you two okay?
Brunette (Shakes her head): Oh! I'm sorry. My name is Luan. And this is my partner Carla. We are both former ninjas currently under the tutelage of the old, perverted martial artist here, Master Leep.
Male Voice: And who are you two calling perverted!?
Both Carla and Luan tense up at hearing the voice.
Male Voice: STEALTH GOOSE!
Carla and Luan then jump in shock, something having grabbed their butts.
Ranma Britanny (Wide-eyed): WHAT THE HECK!?
Carla: Stupid old man!
Luan: Stop using us like that!
Male Voice: OH HO! You forgot rule number one. NEVER take your eyes off of me Hello? Is that a werecheetah? I haven't seen one of them in fifteen years And she looks fully developed too SEALTH GOOSE!
With that, there is a short old man glomped onto Britanny. Britanny's tail stretches out while all the fur on her body bristles and stands on end.
Britanny: EEK! GET IT OFF!
Britanny then uses her arm and smashes the old man off of her chest. The man does a flip in the air, and lands in front of Luan and Carla It's at that point they all get a good look at the old man. He is about 3.7 ft tall, he is completely bald, a bushy gray mustache, somewhat pale skin, and he wears a white gi with blue trimming, an orange sash, and he carries a wooden cane.
Ranma: Are you master Leep?
Old man: Yes I am Master Leep, teacher of martial arts.
Ranma: Are you really Master Julia Diggers' teacher?
Leep (Arches an eyebrow): Yes I am indeed Julia's teacher But Did you say "Master Julia"?
Ranma (Nods his head): Yes
Leep (Looks at Britanny): And I take it the werecheetah is one of Julia's children.
Britanny: Yep! Julia is my mom!
Leep: STEALTH GOOSE!
With that, Leep is once again on Britanny's chest. Britanny is shocked at first, but then her shock turns to anger
Britanny: YOU PERVERT!
Britanny grabs the old man off of her, and smashes him into the ground. Britanny starts beating him up.
Luan Carla: WAIT FOR US!
With that, Luan and Carla join the fray and all is enveloped in a dust cloud as they all beat on the old perverted master of martial arts When the dust settles, the three women stand triumphant.
Britanny, Luan, Carla: THAT'LL SHOW HIM!
Leep (Sitting on a nearby rock, and drinking his tea): Indeed Now I know that the pig-tailed boy is definitely something
Britanny, Luan, and Carle look down to see that what they were beating on was Ranma
Ranma (Bruised, bloody, and broken as he lies on ground): Ow
Britanny (Covers her mouth with her hands): OH MY GOD! I'M SO SORRY RANCHAN!
Luan: STUPID OLD MAN!
Carla: THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!
Luan and Carla lunge at Leep, but he just holds his cane out, and with a flip of it, sends Luan and Carla flying hi into the air. A minute passes and both girls finally land in a heap.
Luan Carla: Ow
Ranma (Gets up): Look old man I want to ask you a question
Leep (Sitting on the rock calmly): Ask away young man.
Ranma: Listen, I want you too teach me. Please.
Leep looks at Ranma for a moment, as if sizing him up. But then the old man just shakes his head.
Ranma: Listen this isn't just some request. I was sent her by Julia Diggers to go on a quest and possibly learn from you.
Leep's eyes widen with that. He then looks Ranma over seriously, with an appraising eye. After a few moments of studying Ranma he then shakes his head again, albeit sadly
Leep: I am sorry young warrior. I cannot teach you. Even though Julia Brigand was my best student, you are a male. I do not teach men However if your werecheetah friend would like to learn I would be happy to teach her STEALTH GOOSE!
With that, Leep glomps Britanny again with super-sonic speed. This is beginning to annoy Ranma and Britanny.
Britanny (Barely containing her anger): Listen Old man You have three seconds to get off of me, before I open up a can of whup-ass on you One Two
Ranma, wanting to avoid another fight, asks the man or some cold water.
Ranma: Hey, old man, can I get some cold water?
Master Leep nods his head, and then orders Carla and Luan to bring some cold water. When they come back with it, Ranma pours it over his head and become a woman. Master Leep, Luan, and Carla's eyes bug out of their heads at the sight.
Carla Luan: WHAT THE HECK!?
Leep: J, Jusenkyo?
Ranma-chan: Yeah Well, will you teach me now that I'm a woman?
After awhile Master Leep soon gets over his shock and nods his head. Leep glomps onto Ranma-chan
Ranma-chan: PERVERT!
Ranma-chan then punts the old man into the fortress.
Britanny: GOAL!
Ranma-chan: Hey, Luan, Carla? Carla: Uh Yes?
Ranma-chan: Can me and Britchan go in now?
Carla: Uh Sure I guess Follow Luan and me. We'll take you to where the pervert most likely landed
After that, Ranma-chan and Britanny are let in. After all, they are both girls, and Master Leep only teaches women. After walking around for a bit, they see many other women training there. (And all of them wearing the same skimpy outfit that Carla and Luan do). Ranma-chan then asks them a question.
Ranma-chan: Are all of these people students?
Luan: Yes.
Britanny: WHY WOULD THEY WANT TO VE TRAINED BY THAT LECHER!?
Carla (A bit miffed): Same reason you two do That ol' geezer may be a Gods damned pervert, but he is also the greatest martial arts instructor to women in all of Jade!
Ranma-chan: That makes sense
After a bit of walking they find a small open-area tea 'house' with lots of shrubbery around it. They can see Master Leep sitting at a table drinking some tea. He then looks over to Ranma-chan and Britanny.
Leep: Luan, Carla, you two may go back to watching the gates. I have need to talk to Ranma and Britanny.
Luan Carla (Bow the heads): Yes master!
Leep: And one more thing STEALTH GOOSE!
With that, the old master is a blur, and Luan and Carla get 'goosed' again!
Luan: DAMN IT! WILL YOU STOP THAT!
Carla: YEAH! YOU DIRTY OLD MAN!
Leep (reappears back in his seat, smiles): Heh Guilty as charged
Luan and Carla then walk away fuming in anger, Ranma-chan and Britanny then look at Leep with hesitance.
Leep: What are you two waiting for? Come on and sit down. We have much to discuss Like what are your experiences in fighting, what is it you're trying to accomplish, and how did you Ranma; get your Jusenkyo curse, among other thing of course?
With that Ranma-chan and Britanny look to each other. They then both sit opposite to Leep, and they start telling what they've been through thus far.
After awhile of getting acquainted, Ranma-chan is surprised by what Leep has to say once Ranma tell him that he is/was the heir to the Anything Goes School or martial arts
Leep (Wide-eyed): WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU ARE OF THE ANYTHING GOES SCHOOL OF MARTIAL ARTS!?
Ranma-chan is blown back by the question, and answers Leep as best he can.
Ranma-chan: Well, my father is Genma Saotome. He is one of the two students to learn the art of Anything Goes, from Happosai, who is the Grandmaster of the School of Anything Goes Martial Arts.
When Ranma is done with his explanation, Leep breaks down into laughter.
Leep: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA! Oh, I can't believe Happi is still alive after three hundred years! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!
Now Ranma-chan is a bit confused.
Ranma-chan: Wait You know of Happosai?
Britanny (Folds arms across her chest): Makes sense They're both perverted old men after all
With that, Leep nods his head and explains
Leep: Well, that's simple really. Happosai is my older brother.
Upon hearing 'that', Ranma-chan and Britanny's jaws drop and their eyes widen in shock. This old pervert is related to the other old pervert. This makes Ranma-chan's muscles tense up.
Ranma-chan: Excuse me Master Leep
Leep: Yes?
Ranma-chan: I have a question Is Happosai from the Jade Realm, like you then, or were you two born on earth.
Leep: Happosai is indeed from Jade. For you see Happi and I are brothers that are twenty years apart in age. Our father Shinryu was the original founder of the Anything Goes School of Martial Arts. His style was invincible, as it was the true representative of the Dao, or Yin-yang; the balance of a warrior's feminine and masculine sides. When our father, God rest his soul, was on his deathbed he decided that it was time for Happosai and I to take on the titles of 'Grandmaster of Anything Goes', and continue our family art However both of us were inexperienced compared to him, and as a result, he could only teach us one aspect. After studying us, he decided to teach Happosai the Yang, or male sect of the Anything Goes School, since Happosai was a very aggressive person. Our father, seeing the 'gentle' soul I was, taught me the Yin, or female sect of the Anything Goes School. So as a result, I teach the branch of Anything Goes for female fighters and Happosai teaches the branch of Anything Goes for male fighters. The result ended up with me being able to only know how to teach female fighters and Happosai only knows how to train male fighters.
Ranma takes this information with a grain of salt It explains many things He now understands why Julia understood how he fights so well Her style IS Anything Goes But the version for female fighters It also explains why Happosai is so adamant about only training men, even though he loves to cope a feel from women. After all, it's not that the old pervert wouldn't love to train women, it's because he doesn't know how!
After a bit of getting acquainted, they get to business so to speak.
Leep: So Ranma Why did you specifically come here for? What is your full reason?
Ranma-chan: Well, to be honest, Julia set me on some sort of quest I'm supposed to search out all ten Weaponsmasters of Jade, fight them, and then enter the Tournament of Arms
Leep takes a moment to consider this.
Leep (Mutters): So This Ranma is the one
Ranma-chan and Britanny are confused by that comment and ask Leep what he means.
Leep (Shakes his head): Don't worry It's not important for now. But if that is indeed your quest, then you must search through both of the continents to face all ten Weaponsmasters. After all, not all of them live on just the East Continent.
Ranma-chan (Blinks): East Continent?
Leep: Yes. Jade is separated into two continents. The West and East Continents.
Ranma-chan: Okay Since you seem to know this place Leep, what is the full set-up of Jade?
Leep smiles and goes one step further. Using the Hidden Weapons Technique he puts his hand into his gi top and pulls out a map, which he then gives Ranma and Britanny. They are both grateful for it.
Britanny: Gee Thanks Ol' Geezer
Ranma-chan: Yeah This will save us a lot of time
Leep: Indeed But I have to ask you a question Ranma
Ranma: Yes?
Leep: Are you two sure about this? Going on this quest that Julia has set both of you on in a sense?
Ranma-chan: YES! I have been training since a young age to be the best. I will not back down from any challenge that rears its head!
Britanny: Yeah! And anywhere Ranchan goes, or anything Ranchan does, I'll be right behind him to back him up!
Leep: Very well Then I propose this to you two. I want both of you to train under me for a month. Then I will take Ranma to fight the first Weaponsmaster, and afterwards, tell you two where the other Weaponsmasters of this continent are.
Ranma-chan: Listen, it's a tempting offer, but I'm not sure if we want to. After all I have to be able to enter the Tournament of Arms.
Leep (Laughs): Don't worry. The Tournament of Arms isn't for another eight months. And since the Weaponsmasters always fight in the tournament, fighting them beforehand, and defeating them will allow your victories to give you a clearer path in the Tournament of Arms.
Ranma-chan considers this for a moment before she speaks again.
Ranma-chan: Well, if they're going to be at the tournament anyway, then I should just wait for the tournament to fight them.
Britanny: Yeah That does make a bit of sense
Leep frowns for a moment. He then knocks Ranma-chan on the head with his cane.
Ranma-chan (Grasping her head): OW! WHAT YOU DO THAT FOR!?
Leep: Listen If you don't travel Jade, then you will not gain new knowledge and strength and when you enter the Tournament of Arms, you will ultimately lose! Do you understand?
Ranma-chan thinks it over, and, with a bit of persuading from Britanny, decides to stay and learn under master Leep.
Ranma-chan: After considering what you said, we have come to a decision.
Britanny: We accept your off and humbly ask you to take us on as your students.
The old man then smiles a bit lecherously at them.
Leep (Gets up from his seat): Follow me
Ranma-chan: Where're we going?
Leep: We're going to get you and Britanny suited up You're my pupils, and you shall wear the uniform of my school
Ranma-chan and Britanny look down at the uniforms they are wearing. The outfits are the exact same thing that they saw the other students wearing. That is the skimpy green cloth outfit that is a hybrid of a tunic and a gi top with a gold trimming, green bracers on their legs, with the same gold trimming on the part of thee leg-bracer that is near the knee, and dark green thong panties for underwear
Put simply, they are not pleased
Ranma-chan: This is so damn humiliating
Britanny: Grr Damn pervert
Leep (Smiles): Ah yes You two look exquisite in those outfits. I must say that you two make this old man happy he's lived for 280 years NOW GIMME SOME SUGAR BABY! STEALTH GOOSE!
With that, Leep is once again gone in a flash! Leep copes a feel from Britanny's butt, and then ends up glomped to Ranma-chan's chest.
Ranma-chan Britanny: GET AWAY AND GO TO HELL!
Ranma-chan and Britanny then smash the old perverted master, making him fly through the roof of the building used for the changing area.
Leep (As he flies through the air): WE'RE GOING TO HAVE SOME FUN NOW! OH HOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ranma-chan: Britchan
Britanny: Yeah Ranchan? Ranma-chan: I get the feeling this month isn't going to go by fast enough
End Chapter 11
Next Time: Ranma-chan and Britanny have been training with the pervert for a week now All the female students take a liking to Ranma And, Leep decides to treat the girls to a trip to one of the hot spring resorts in the Dim Crag Mountains. (Though who the trip is really the treat for, is anyone's guess )
