Broken Hearts Combined Chapter 13: The Wild Horse Vs the Stealth Goose
It's been three full weeks since Ranma and Britanny have been training under Julia's former teacher, Master Leep. Ever since Ranma said he would learn, Leep has taken him, Britanny, and Leep's other students much more seriously
The training regimes are tough on their endurance and physical form. Running many miles at a time and going as fast as they can to strengthen their endurance and increase their speed. Having them literally punch boulders, to increase their physical strength. There are all the bamboo poles Leep has set up, for them to increase their balance and skill. Having them do all sorts of menial exercises like push-ups, crunches, sit-ups, jumping jacks, chin-ups, squat-thrusts, and such to keep their bodies in top shape. And then there's the daily, if not hourly sparring sessions, where Leep puts students of similar skill against one another to test all of their attributes.
But the training is not only on the body Leep also takes their souls and minds into account.
To strengthen their souls, and clear their minds, Leep has been taken time to help his students meditate. Though some just get bored and use the time to sleep.
Leep (Meditating): Ummmmmmmmmmm
Ranma-chan (Sleeping): SNOOOOOOOOOOOORREEEE
Leep then hits Ranma-chan on the back of her head with his staff.
Ranma-chan (Rubs the back of her head): OW! WHAT YOU DO THAT FOR!?
Leep then hits Ranma-chan on the head with his staff again.
Leep: This exercise is for concentration, NOT for you to catch up on sleep.
Ranma-chan (Mutters): Stupid old man
There is also the ki and chi gathering exercises. Using chi to take in energies from the earth around you, and ki to tap into one's own energy reserves. This is also a way of concentration. It helps purify the soul, by clearing the mind and becoming one with themselves and the world around them. Britanny and Ranma have taken to this quite easily, and made a few attacks of their own. One Ranma has developed from his Neko-
Ken The Razor Cat Claw
Ranma-chan and Britanny go into a standing stance. Both breathe a bit heavily. The gather energy from around them, from the earth, the sun, the water They gather their own ki as well, letting the energies flow around them They then hold out their hands, allowing the ki and chi to go to their hands. Suddenly, the energy takes the form of 3 ft. blades on the end of their fingers. They then take a swipe in the direction of the nearest hill.
Ranma-chan Britanny: KAMISORI NEKOTSUME!
Though the energy of their strikes do not hit the hill at all, since they are too far away from it, the air pressure from the attack alone makes the hill turn into a bit of flat land.
Britanny (Smirks): Sweet It's so good being able to use claws.
Ranma-chan: Oh? Don't have any?
Britanny: I do. Watch.
Britanny hold out her hand, and claws that are 2 ft. long pop out on her fingers. Ranma-
chan's eyes widen.
Ranma-chan (Wide eyed): Woah Now those are claws I'm surprised you don't use them in combat
Britanny (Blushes): Well Besides scare-tactic, they're kind of useless
Ranma-chan: Oh? Why is that Britchan?
Britanny: Well I don't get enough zebra in my diet so they're (Blush deepens in color). They're brittle
Ranma-chan: Oh Well Don't worry Britchan. When we get back, we'll start working on your diet in no time We'll have you cut down on tuna, and eat more zebra and
Britanny (Growls, lifts Ranma-chan off of the ground): DON'T! YOU! DARE! MESS! WITH! MY! TUNA! GOT IT!?
Ranma-chan (Blinks): Okay
Britanny (Smiles): Good.
Britanny then drops Ranma-chan to the ground. Britanny then walks away to get herself a snack. (Tuna if she can find some).
Ranma-chan (Rubs her butt): Women I'll never understand them
But still, to get his students to do their best, Leep follows the most basic training principle of the Anything Goes style of Martial Arts
Piss off the student enough so that they'll want to get good enough to kick their masters' ass all over the place
We see Leep running with a sack of 'goodies' that he stole from his female students. They're all screaming bloody-murder, and it will most likely be just that if they manage to catch the old pervert.
Female Students (Chasing Leep): COME BACK HERE AND DIE YOU OLD PERVERT!
Leep (With his sack): OH HOHOHOHOHOHOOOOOOOOO! COME AND CATCH ME LADIES! (Sees something in the distance). Hello What's this?
As Leep gets closer, he see it is Ranma-chan practicing with a Bo staff. Leep gets a lecherous smile on his face
Leep: STEALTH GOOSE!
Ranma-chan's eyes widen as she looks down to see Leep glomped onto her chest.
Ranma-chan: GET OFF OF ME YOU OLD PERVERT!
Ranma-chan starts using her staff like a baseball bat. However with every strike, Leep just jumps into the air, and back onto Ranma-chan's chest. However, this little break that Leep took was all the time the other students needed
Female Students: DIE OLD MAN!
Ranma-chan Leep (Looks at the charging mob): Crap
And so Leep and unfortunately for Ranma-chan, get a beat-down. The female students so blind in rage that they keep attacking the general area Leep is in. All we can see is a huge dust cloud, and a bunch of bras and panties that Leep stole go flying into the air.
Later we see Britanny bandaging Ranma-chan up. We see Leep with a whole-bunch of bruises and band-aids on him. Ranma-chan then looks at Leep with disgust.
Ranma-chan: This is all your fault ol' geezer
Leep (Smiles): Ah It's like my father always said "You pay for your pleasure "
Ranma-chan: WHAT PLEASURE!? ALL I GOT WAS A BEAT-DOWN I DIDN'Y DESERVE!
Britanny: Yeah! It's all your fault that Ranchan got hurt you stupid old man!
Ranma-chan: Well At least the girls said they were sorry afterwards
Leep continues to ignore them as he drinks from his teacup.
Leep: Ah Life can be good at times Very good STEALTH GOOSE!
With that, Leep is now glomped onto Britanny's chest. Britanny's eyes widen in shock. Then she glares at him in rage.
Britanny: STUPID OLD MAN!
Britanny then grabs Leep off of her, drops him, and punt-kicks him into the horizon.
Leep (As he flies away): I'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacckk
A loud thud is heard in the distance.
Finally, it has been a full month since Ranma and Britanny have been training under Master Leep. They have held up their end of the bargain. Now they expect Leep to hold up his end.
After getting dressed into their regular clothes, they then start walking around the grounds for a bit to find Leep. They find the perverted master with a pair of hedge-
clippers, as he works on the shrubbery around his little teahouse.
Ranma: Hey! Old man!
Britanny: We'd like to have a word with you!
Leep looks up from his work to see Ranma and Britanny standing before him. He frowns upon seeing them not wearing their uniforms on 'school grounds' But then his eyes widen when he realizes why this must be so
Leep: Ah Yes It has been a month, hasn't it? Ranma Britanny: YES!
Leep: Very well, let us have a bit of tea. Then we shall make arrangements.
The two follow Leep to have a cup of tea with him.
After sitting awhile and drinking tea, Ranma is tense. He wants to get this over with. He wants to get the map that Leep promised him, the locations of the Weaponsmasters on the East continent, and have Leep take him to fight the first Weaponsmaster.
Ranma: Hey Leep When am I going to go and fight the first Weaponsmaster? You did promise after all.
Leep: Ranma Are you most certain about this?
Ranma nods his head, and Leep smiles.
Ranma: I'm ready and waiting.
Leep (Smiles): Very well
Leep then reaches behind him and grabs his wooden staff. He gets up and motions for Ranma and Britanny to follow him. They walk for a bit to the center of the fortress. Leep stands before them. He is ready
Leep: I am Master Leep, trainer of women in the art of Anything Goes Martial Arts, Yin Sect. I am one of the ten Weaponsmasters of Jade. If you want to challenge me, you now have the right to do so
Ranma and Britanny just stare at Leep. They didn't realize the old coot was one of the ten Weaponsmasters.
Ranma: You mean you're a Weaponsmaster?
Leep (Smirks): Why so surprised? I am the most renowned martial arts trainer in all of Jade. I mean, would these women really put up with the shit I put them through, if there wasn't a pretty damn good reason?
Ranma and Britanny think this over for a few seconds.
Britanny: Makes sense
Ranma doesn't say anything. He just reaches into his sleeve and grabs his nun-chucks that he made in Gina's lab and prepares to face Leep. Leep raises an eyebrow, as he is impressed that Ranma already knows the Hidden Weapons technique of the Chinese Amazon Wu Shu.
Leep: Interesting You know of the Chinese Amazons You are ready
Ranma: Just quit talking and fight me for real!
Britanny: Be careful Ranchan!
Ranma: Don't worry Britchan, I'll just beat him, and we can get a move on.
Leep: Britanny Could you do me a favor?
Britanny (Eyes narrow): What favor?
Leep: I want you to get the other students as witness to this. Don't take long. Tell them and come right back.
Britanny: That I can do. See ya'!
With that, Britanny is off like a rocket. Leep and Ranma then stare at each other for a bit. Leep suddenly makes the fist move, swiping his staff at Ranma, to get a gauge of Ranma's speed. He smiles to himself.
Leep: Not bad Not bad at all You did improve
Ranma: Shut up!
Ranma then starts swinging his nun-chucks at super sonic speeds, literally causing a huge burst of wind. Leep flies into the air for a second, and then suddenly, shoots downwards, smashing Ranma on the head with his staff.
Ranma (Clutches head): OW!
Leep then takes a few more swipes at Ranma. Ranma deftly manages to avoid all the blows except one The foot-sweep.
Ranma falls onto his back, and Leep stomps on his gut. Leep then jumps back from Ranma.
Leep: Tsk You still haven't worked on that As long as you don't extend your guard to your lower half of your body, you'll become an easy target.
Ranma (Clutches stomach): Shit That hurts (Glares at Leep). OKAY OLD MAN! I'LL SHOW YOU ALL I GOT!
Leep (Frowns): Anger is never a good tool You should discard it now, before it hinders your performance.
Ranma then breathes heavily, to calm himself. He indeed feels himself calm down Then Leep hits him across the head with his staff.
Ranma: OW! THAT WAS A CHEAP SHOT!
Leep: Fool Do you really think an opponent will just stand there to let you get better? That is just ignorance. Now discard that too. You are facing a Weaponsmaster. And a person does NOT become a Weaponsmaster for being a foolhardy trainee. Which is what you are acting like at the moment
Ranma suppresses glaring at the old man. He realizes that this fight is also the last lesson the old man is giving him. Some final pointers so to speak
Ranma then looks around. He sees Britanny is back, with all the other students.
Ranma (Smiles): Okay old man, let's go. I think these people deserve a show
Leep (Smiles): Now that is the spirit of Anything Goes To immerse oneself into the fight, become one with it.
With that Ranma and Leep charge at each other, literally butting heads. Leep shots his knee forward and his Ranma in the gut. As Ranma is momentarily stunned, Leep then uses his staff like a baseball bat, and swings at Ranma's side. Ranma goes flying from the blow. Ranma then crashes fifteen ft from the old geezer.
Ranma (Clutches his side): Damn These will be bruised
Britanny: COME ON RANCHAN! YOU CAN DO IT!
Ranma smiles upon hearing Britanny cheering him on. Ranma then gets up and starts running towards Leep at full-speed, twirling his nun-chucks as he goes forward. Ranma takes a quick swipe at Leep, but Leep jumps over the strike, and once again, hits Ranma in the back of the head with his staff, and does a roundhouse-kick in the air, sending Ranma flying forward, and crashing face-first. Ranma shakes his head to get the dirt off of his face.
Ranma: Okay He's a tricky one I can't get past his defenses I need to get rid of that jerk's staff
Ranma continues to send wave after wave of attack at Leep, their fight sending them all over the fortress. However Ranma still can't get rid of Leep's weapon. Leep is a slippery old coot, able to dodge most of Ranma's attacks, and then smack him with his staff. Not even Ranma's skill, reflexes, and determination are helping him gain a distinct advantage over the old man.
Ranma then spots the training area for balance. It is a lake with the bamboo poles in it. Ranma then gets an idea.
Ranma (Thinks): Wait If that old pervert is Happosai's brother And they're both old lechers, then
Ranma runs to the lake and jumps in, turning into his girl form. Ranma-chan unbuttons the top wooden ties on her red silk shirt, to show a bit of cleavage.
Ranma-chan: HEY! OVER HERE! (Purposely 'bounces' a bit).
Leep stares wide-eyed. His natural tendencies take over. He throws his staff at Ranma-
chan to set her off balance, and then he lunges at her.
Leep: STEALTH GOOSE!
There is a loud cracking sound, and Ranma-chan manages to deflect the staff out of the way, and smashes the incoming pervert in the face with her nun-chucks. Leep goes flying back a bit, feeling his jaw.
Leep: Oooooooh Not bad But I won't fall for that trick again!
Ranma-chan: Oh? Really?
Ranma-chan then unbuttons all the ties, and reveals her well-endowed 'assets'. Everybody stares at Ranma-chan.
Britanny: RANCHAN! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?
All the other women are staring dumbly at what Ranma-chan. Leep stares wide-eyed for a few minutes. He then smiles widely, showing all his teeth. He then lunges at Ranma-
chan.
Leep: COME TO DADDY SWEETIE! STEALTH GOOSE!
Ranma-chan then uses Leep's staff like a baseball bat with all her strength. Her attack aims true, and she smashes Leep like a baseball. He crashes into a far-off mountain.
Ranma-chan: Heh That'll teach the old pervert
Ranma-chan then buttons her shirt as the crowd cheers.
Britanny: YAY RANCHAN!
Ranma-chan: Heh The old pervert made it to easy to win
Suddenly, a loud voice goes booming through the air
Leep: GINKA GENKI GAN!
The top of the mountain Leep had crashes into explodes. Everyone stares at where the explosion was. Suddenly, a blur shoots out from the explosion site, and lands in front of Ranma-chan. It is Leep, except his shirt is gone, he is covered in dirt, and he is pissed.
Ranma-chan: Shit
Leep: I admit, you did well You used my own weakness against me and exploited it in battle. However, now I will not hold back!
Leep suddenly is covered in a glowing silver energy again.
Leep: GINKA GENKI GAN!
The Silver Energy Bang shoots out from Leep towards Ranma-chan. Ranma-chan manages to dodge the attack, and it hits a nearby training site, destroying the area.
Ranma-chan (Thinks): OH SHIT!
Leep the smiles a bit cruelly as he begins to glow with a larger aura of silver ki
Leep: Ginka Genki Gan revised GINKA KATCHU TENSHIN AMAGURIKEN!
Ranma-chan's eyes widen as Leep then starts throwing punches at him with a speed only attained through the Amazon training. His fists are glowing with the energy, and each attack he lands on Ranma is with the force of a bulldozer. Ranma-chan crashes into a nearby tower with a loud thud, making it collapse. Ranma-chan is buried in rubble.
Britanny: RANCHAN!
Leep: She was good And if I am not mistaken, she will get out of it easily
Indeed, true to Leep's words, Ranma-chan manages to dig himself out of the rubble. Her clothes are in tater, she is covered in dirt, and her hair is frazzled.
Leep: I knew she would get out of that. So Ranma, are you ready to call it quits now?
Ranma-chan doesn't say anything. She loses all emotion to her her face a blank mask
Leep (Raises an eyebrow): Now what is she (Eyes widen). No She wouldn't be She couldn't be
Suddenly different swirls of colored energy start forming around Ranma-chan. Leep and Britanny's eyes widen as they realize what Ranma-chan is doing. The other female students eyes widen in awe
Suddenly, the waves of energy form together, becoming an ominous black coloring. Ranma-chan holds the energy to her side
Ranma-chan: Kuro
The black energy begins to form together in a ball
Ranma-chan: Genki
The black-colored ki begins to shine brightly, setting off a dark light everywhere
Ranma-chan: GAN!
Ranma-chan thrusts her hands forward, sending the black ki projectile at Leep. Leep tries to defend himself from the blast. The blast hit him and it all goes dark, as if sucking the light into it Finally the area begins to lighten again. Leep is lying down in the center of a rather large crater.
Ranma-chan: It is done
Suddenly, Leep's eyes snap wide-open. He is defeated but not unconscious. Leep smiles. He's thoroughly pleased
Leep: Heh You actually managed to attain usage of the Kuro Genki Gan. Incredible I haven't had this great a challenge since Julia 'graduated' from my school Well done lad, well done You've now graduated
Ranma-chan then walks up to Leep and smiles.
Ranma-chan: So, defeating you means 'graduation' from this hellhole, right?
Leep (Stares at Ranma-chan): Yes It does
Ranma-chan's smile widens. She then turns to the other girls.
Ranma-chan: YOU HEARD HIM LADIES!
All the other female students stare at the sight in awe Then their eyes widen, and they smile cruelly It's payback time
Leep (Sweats): Oh no
Female Students: PREPARE TO GET WHAT'S COMING TO YOU OLD MAN!
And so, Leep gets a well-deserved beating, and 'defeat' at the hands of his students. Looks like there will be a lot of 'graduations' today
After staying the night to rest up, a graduation ceremony is held.
Leep is all banged up, and in all sorts of bandages. He looks like a little mummy. He presents all the female students with their graduation outfits. It's basically the same thing as their 'normal' uniform, except it is orange instead of green. He gives the uniform to the students one at a time. Sure, the outfits may show off their assets like the other ones did, but this means they are now graduated from the School of Anything Goes, Yin Sect. Leep gets to Ranma last.
Leep: And Ranma
Ranma: Yeah old man?
Leep: I cannot give you one of these uniforms.
Ranma: Because I'm a guy, right?
Leep: No. Because you are not a graduated student
Ranma: WHAT!?
Britanny: HEY! HE BEAT YOU FAIR AND SQUARE!
Leep smiles. He then goes back to his teahouse. He comes out with a chest. He opens it up. It holds a uniform like Leep's. It is a white gi, with blue trimming, and orange sash. Except the back of the gi top is a Yin-yang symbol, and the kanji of Chikyu, Hi, Kaze, and Mizu around the Yin-yang in black ink. Or, Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water
Leep: This is the uniform of a grandmaster of the 'true' Anything Goes Style. As of today Ranma, you are the true 'Grandmaster' of the Anything Goes School. Even Happosai and I would have to bow down to your wishes.
Ranma (Wide-eyed): I'm a grandmaster? Why?
Leep (Smiles): Simple. Defeating me, and the way you defeated me proves you know both sects of Anything Goes Style. You are now the only one to truly know it. That makes you the true 'head' of the school. Ranma Please do me the favor I asked.
Ranma: Which is?
Leep: Please teach 'true' Anything Goes. It is a great style. It is the ultimate fighting style. I do not want it to die out again.
Ranma (Thinks for a moment): I will.
Leep smiles, and hands the uniform to Ranma.
Leep: As Grandmaster of Anything Goes, I now dub thee, "Grandmaster Ranma Saotome, of the True Anything Goes Martial Arts".
Britanny: YAY RANCHAN!
The whole student body cheers Ranma. The sound is deafening, yet Ranma accepts it. The people around him are glad about it, even though he was only there a short while, they do see him as their superior.
After Ranma and Britanny talk with Leep, he gives them the whereabouts of the four other Weaponsmasters on the East Continent of Jade, and tells them a bit about what to expect from Jade. He advises them on where they should go next.
Ranma: Seer's Hamlet?
Leep (Nods his head): Yes. Seer's Hamlet is the city that's east of here; the Dim Crag Mountains. The city also right next to the arena for the Tournament of Arms. Also Seer's Hamlet is the home city of two of the Weaponsmasters closest to where we currently are. Karia, a former student of mine and a War Mage of dark elf blood. And Brod the troll-giant.
Ranma and Britanny walks side by side through the rocky area near the Dim Crag Mountain Range. Ranma is wearing his gi and Britanny is wearing her own clothes, and NOT the graduation outfit, much to the disappointment of the readers.
Ranma notices that Britanny seems nervous. She lets her eyes go distant at times, and seems to have an overall air of 'uneasiness' to her.
Ranma: Hey Britchan. What's wrong?
Britanny looks over to Ranma and sighs.
Britanny: Nothing It's just I'm familiar with Seer's Hamlet. After all, that place is home of some of my friends in one of the Edge Guard groups. This one consists of werecats of all types. They protect the area of Seer's Hamlet known as 'The Retreat' And I know this group VERY well
Ranma: Well, if you want to talk about anything else, just let me know, okay Britchan?
Britanny: Okay.
Ranma and Britanny walk in silence. All the while Britanny thinks about how she should act when she gets there.
Britanny (Thinks): What'll I do? What'll I do when I see him? What'll I do when I see Gar
End Chapter 13
Next Time: Ranma and Britanny make their way to Seer's Hamlet. Ranma goes looking for Brod, and Britanny goes to see an old friend to see if she and Ranma can stay there And then another old friend of Brit's shows up
