Heeeeey...so someone, or a few someones, asked for a recap since it's been so long (shout out to tiy92 for the marathon read during a meeting, super awesome!)

So to sum up what has happened during this super short timeline: Arizona ran into Callie at the grocery store, they had BRIEFLY been in high school together during one of the Robbins' moves, Arizona ended up babysitting Callie's baby girl, Kelsie, while Callie went out on a date with a dude that turned out to be Arizona's wingman in-training once upon a time, the date flopped because Callie was thinking about Arizona the whole time. Arizona's dealing with her own mess of feelings while Callie's freaking out, we find out that Callie's new client is none other than the queen Ellis Grey, little Kelsie gets sick which would put Callie out of work to take care of her but Arizona comes to the rescue, offering to take care of Kelsie by using a little nursery area at the hospital that Derek and Meredith had set up for Zola while she was sick, Teddy's been around but hasn't been too involved in the storyline yet, Mark has been trying to convince Arizona to have a kid with him as his mystery girlfriend and him have been having some "issues" (in and out of the bedroom) and then BAM! That's where the last chapter came in.

^The paragraph/run-on sentence is a mess, but hopefully you get the idea! Thanks a million for all the awesome reviews, guys! Except maybe that one guest, but I'm almost positive that your issues with Arizona stem beyond this fic, sorry about that dude.

Side note: why on earth did I ever start watching this show again. These past few seasons are killing me, but yay new friendships! Fear not though, none of my feelings towards the show's version of the character's in their current storyline are going to affect anything here!

The two women bounced up off the bed, all giggles, smiles and a few squeals that offended the ears of everyone else in the room, causing them to grimace and Callie to soothe the little girl in her arms.

As they made the way over the small gathering at the door, arms linked around eachothers' waists and smiles still miles wide, Arizona failed to notice as her friend's eyes widened as well as the expressions on, well, everyone else's faces. Callie's face was almost comical, it was becoming increasingly obvious that she didn't really want to be stuck in that room. Mark's eyes were wide and he was speechless, which wasn't something that happened very often to the one and only Marcus Sloan, and Teddy didn't even know what to think. She knew Arizona better than anyone in the room, and even knowing that she was typically perky (and sometimes to the point of being slightly overbearing) she had never seen her like this before; the Arizona she had come to know wouldn't voluntarily take care of a (seemingly) straight woman's child when it wasn't really necessary, but then she came in with Callie's little girl and went out of the way to take care of her, and even seemed different around Callie...but now another woman was straddling her in an on-call room.

"Hey, guys! This is –"

"...Lexie." Mark gruffly spoke before turning on his heel and leaving, leaving bewildered expressions on everyone but Lexie's face.

Callie and Teddy were looking confused and lost, Arizona had her brows furrowed trying to figure what happened and Lexie's shoulders had slumped and a pained expression remained on her face.

Arizona cleared her throat and straightened her shoulders "Well that was, uhmm...anyways. So you...know Mark?" She looked to the woman beside her for an answer.

"I...well, I, uh – kinda? We...he...I...were...are –"

"YOU'RE THE MYSTERY GIRLFRIEND?!"

Arizona and Teddy both burst out at once, cutting Lexie's rambling off and causing Callie to once again shield her poor little girl's ears. Lexie looked incredibly sheepish, not knowing what to say, Arizona looked mildly horrified and Teddy still just looked confused, maybe even more so. Mark actually had/has a girlfriend? She was beginning to think that it was all just made up, she hadn't really suspected anything until Mark had told her the other day.

Things suddenly clicked for Callie and her face was torn between emotions, she looked like she just had a great epiphany and didn't know whether to remain sombre or be overjoyed.

"Wait, wait, wait. She," she nodded her head towards Lexie "isn't your girlfriend?"

Arizona simply grinned while Lexie snorted. To them the idea seemed ridiculous and they didn't really think of how they appeared to the others in the room, although they had been mistaken for girlfriends a few times, but that was a story for another time.

"Nope!" She was still so cheery that the 'p' had an extra pop. It was a ridiculously weird day, but she woke up with two adorable Latinas after a much needed nap, and now she was pleasantly surprised by her best friend showing up. She playfully smacked Lexie on the arm and scoffed "I can't believe you didn't even tell me you were coming! We haven't even talked in, like, forever!"

Lexie just grinned sheepishly and shrugged "I've been so busy; I must have been distracted because I thought you were still at Hopkins."

To be honest, both girls had let each other fall of their radars. It just happened sometimes, they weren't in school anymore and had their own separate lives to keep up with. They both must have been thinking the same thing because they were just staring at each other with soft smiles until Teddy cleared her throat.

"Oh, right!" Arizona perked back up and pulled Lexie closer while gesturing to Teddy "Lexie, this is Dr. Teddy Altman, Head of Cardio," they smiled and offered a polite wave at each other before Arizona angled Lexie towards Callie and her baby girl "And this," Lexie's eyebrow lifted as Arizona's smile got wider and took in the woman and child, apparently they really did have a lot to catch up on "...this pretty lady is future Doctor Callie Torres, and this adorable little ms. is Kelsie" She beamed as she not so subtly gestured (in an asking manner, of course) for Callie to let her have a turn holding the little girl.

"Nice to meet you guys."

As Arizona was settling the little girl into her arms Lexie complimented Callie on having such an adorable little girl and Teddy was paged away once again. Arizona looked between Lexie, Kelsie and down the hall that Mark had made his hasty retreat, she was torn about what to do; she wanted to spend more time catching up with her best friend but she also wanted to spend time with Callie before she'd have to leave again, and there was the fact that Lexie and Mark clearly had some talking to do.

She made her decision and caught Lexie's eye before nodding towards the direction Mark had went "Did you want to go talk to him?"

Lexie sadly shrugged with a sad smile "Naah, we have a lot to talk about. It's probably better if we left it until after he's done work." She stuffed her hands into her pockets and inched towards the door "I do have to go though, I'm actually here for my Dad…"

"We'll catch up later, yeh?"

Lexie nodded in the affirmative and they shared an awkward parting hug around the baby girl still in Arizona's arms.

"I'll text you my address, it's actually just right across from the hospital" Arizona added, quietly mumbling "And right across from Mark."

Lexie caught it though and they both realized how much catching up they had to do if they had been hovering around each other for this long without even realizing it.

They parted ways with Lexie going to check up on her father and Callie, Arizona and Kelsie heading out of the hospital towards Arizona's apartment. Arizona mentioned that it would also help Callie know where it was for the remainder of the week that she would be looking after Kelsie and Callie couldn't help that warm fuzzy feeling that accompanied knowing that she would get to be close to Arizona for at least a handful of days.

Callie's grumbling stomach broke their comfortable silence and caused the taller woman to chuckle "Sorry...I, uh, didn't really have much time to eat before coming to the hospital."

"Oh! Well I know this great little pizza place just around the corner, we could –"

"Arizona, we just had pizza the other night!" Callie chuckled and shook her head "Don't you eat anything else?" She teasingly grinned

"Oh, I definitely do." Ohhh shit. Arizona's cocky grin fell and her eyes widened as she realized what she had just said and whom she had just said it to. "I...uh, wow! So, anyway, pretending I didn't just say that...I can't really cook very much...or very well...so I usually just eat….out" She cringed again and ducked her head down, wishing she could just restart this whole conversation, or maybe just skip it entirely. Surely there were a million ways that they could discuss lunch/dinner that wouldn't be this awkward?

Callie's heart sped up and she was sure that the warmth she felt spread across her cheeks must be visible to anyone within seeing distance. She hadn't really anticipated that, and clearly Arizona hadn't really expected it either. And dammit all to hell, now all she could think about were very very inappropriate things.

Time to pretend this never happened. Callie cleared her throat and tried her best to make her voice come out even. Now was certainly not the time to entertain such thoughts, not only was the actual timing bad, but the timing in their relationship (forming relationship? potential relationship? Whatever, that's exactly why she had to clear her mind, or at least distract herself.)

"I'll make us something!" Came out before she really realized the words had come from her mouth.

"I'll...make us something?" She shot a nervous/trying to be confident smile in the surgeon's direction.

Arizona smirked "If you can make something that you can deem a meal with the few things I have in my kitchen then you're probably some sort of Goddess" Baaaad choice of words, Callie was definitely a Goddess; she already knew that much.

Thankfully the elevator dinged, signaling their arrival and they made the rest of the way in silence. Arizona skillfully unlocked the door without having to let go of Kelsie and they made their way into the apartment.

Callie couldn't help the mental comparison of apartments in her head. Arizona's apartment so big and spacious and tidy. She was almost positive that her whole apartment could be fit into Arizona's living room. She did the best she could though, she knew a lot of other people in her situation that probably wouldn't have been able to make the best of it like she had.

She inwardly sighed as the three of them got settled in the kitchen and began to look through the fridge and cupboards. Arizona might have the nicer apartment but she had the doctor beat by miles when it came to the kitchen, she was in awe that the woman even bothered having such a nice kitchen for so few things, did she ever cook or eat here? Arizona played with little Kelsie while watching as Callie became more exasperated rooting through her cupboards like she was at home, but finding almost nothing to work with.

This was certainly going to be interesting.

Alright, so bear with me a little while I get used to writing again. Do we care about finding out more of the backstory with Slexie? I have certain points that I want this story to hit but a lot is still up in the air, so if there's something you absolutely want or don't want, now's the time to share ;)
