There he was.

He was in a sewing room, working away at a hat, humming some strange tune. Alice could hardly believe it! Her hatter, her best friend, her everything. He didn't look up from his work, and simply continued sewing the overly-fancy grey hat. "I'll be with you in a moment. I'm working on a hat, as you can see. Unless you can't see, then I'm ever so sorry for saying that. It must offend you, if you're blind. You should go and get your sight fixed, if that's the case! Sight is a wonderful thing, a marvelous thing, a thing to behold, and it's a shame you wouldn't be able to see if you are, in fact, blind as a bat, which is an odd saying, really, because I know quite a few bats who can see quite well and I think…" Tarrant had continued talking (or rambling, rather) and Alice rolled her eyes. "Hatter!" She said with a laugh in her voice. "I'm fi… Alice! Oh, you're back!" He dropped what he was working on and ran to her, scooping her into his arms. "Ah! Hatter!" She laughed. "Oh, it's a great thing you're back! You're quite late for tea, though. Naughty girl," He said. "I'm sorry, Tarrant. I had some business to attend to. I'm back now, though." She smiled. "Come along, Alice. We should catch up." he sat her down. "We can go to the garden."

XxXxALICE IN WONDERLANDXxXx

They went out into the garden, talking about this and that. "So Alice," The Hatter began in a inquisitive tone, "Tell me, how is a raven like a writing desk?" He asked jokingly. Alice laughed. "I've thought about it, and still have no answer. Maybe if we think on it together we'll come up with something…" She began to think. "Splendid idea!" They both thought and thought for what seemed like hours, until Alice clapped and jumped. "Hatter! I believe I've solved it!" Alice said, excitement dripping from her every word. Tarrant's eyes widened in excitement, much like how you see a child's eyes go wide upon being told to take whatever candy they please for no money. "Really? Then what is it, Alice?" He asked. "Because," She paused, smirking at the eccentric man, "Poe wrote both." She said. The Hatter paused a moment, taking the answer in. a smile spread across his face slowly before he said, "Of course you would think of that, Alice! You're such a clever young woman! Why, I'm surprised you've not thought of it sooner!" He laughed. "And to think, I didn't even come up with an answer yet." he patted her head. "Good job, Alice."
