SO MUCH FOR MY HAPPY ENDING

PART FIVE

I woke up yet again, in Loki's cell. He wasn't standing over me like last time. He was stood at the other end of the room, looking out of the cell.

I groan and rub my head while trying to sit up. I fail, miserably, and fall back to the floor.

"I thought you would be back" said Loki, he started slowly pacing round the side of the cell he was occupying.

"So did I, but not quite as soon as this.." I mumbled, rubbing my neck and turning my head to the side to look at him.

My headache soon subsided and I raised my hand up to the mark the dart had left on my neck. I healed it again and let my hand fall to the floor.

After much pacing, Loki sat down at the opposite side of the cell. He had his back against the wall and he just stared forward. Even though I was in his sight, he wasn't looking at me.

I was about to talk when Loki interrupted.

"How long have you been alone for?" he asked.

"Excuse me?" I asked, looking him straight in the eyes, what an odd thing to say.

"You heard" he said.

Well, how freaking rude.

I froze when I was about to answer, how long have I actually been alone?

"That's none of your business" I said, sitting up and crossing my legs.

"It does not matter, for I already know" said Loki, playing with his hands.

"How- oh, yeah" I said, I pointed to my head, "You can read minds"

He chuckled and sat up straighter, "Afraid so"

I quickly imagined a door and closed it on my most recent memories. No way is he gonna get in there.

Loki had a slightly angry look at on his face, he looked quite cute when he was frustrated actually.

Wait, what?

"What's up?" I asked, knowing full well it's because of the door in my head.

"You cannot block me out, mortal" said Loki, a sly smile on his face.

"Oh? Can I not? Because you looked pretty frustrated there, God of Mischief" I teased him, "And I'm not a mortal, thank you very much"

Loki's face fell and he stared hard at the floor.

I jumped a little from my sitting position when someone entered the room. They weren't in the cell, but the room the cell was in. A few guards walked in, they walked over to what looked like a control panel.

What are they doing?

'No need to fret, they are just checking up on the system' said Loki.

"Oh, what do you know?" I said looking back at him.

The guards paused and looked at me.

"What did you say?" one of them asked.

"Hm? Oh, I was just talking to Loki" I said.

The guards gave me weird looks and returned to whatever they were doing.

I looked back at Loki who was grinning madly at me.

I brought my knees up to my chest and smiled sarcastically at him.
I mouthed the words 'What was that about?' to Loki who kept grinning.
'What was what about?' said Loki...
But he didn't move his lips, how did he do that?! He was talking but he... wasn't.

"How the hell did you do that?" I asked him.

The guards turned round and looked at me.

"Do what?" asked one of them, shit, he sounded annoyed. Oh hell no.

"I was talking to Loki" I said, sounding just as annoyed as he did.

I could hear Loki laughing so I shot him a death stare.

The guards quickly finished and left.

I stood up and folded my arms, I stared hard at Loki.

"What's wrong, my sweet?" he asked, this time his lips were moving.

"What just happened?" I asked, "What did you do?"

Loki smirked before standing, he was about to speak but I interrupted.

"Scrap that. Did you just call me your sweet?" I said, walking slowly over to him.

'Oh, are you trying to scare me?'

Agh, he just did it again!
He's talking without moving his lips. Is it only me who can hear him? The guards obviously couldn't going by there annoyed-ness. Is he speaking in my mind? Is he mind speaking? Or whatever the hell that's called.

'Yes, I am 'mind speaking'' he said, well, mind spoke.

I stopped walking over to him and stood a few steps in front of him.

"Okay, so you can read my mind and you can talk to me in my head?" I asked.

"I am a god, if you remember" he said.

'Don't patronise me, Mischief Boy' I said, wait, no, I did that mind speaking thing! Ha!

"What did you just call me?" asked Loki, walking menacingly over to me.

"Hm? What? Me? I didn't say anything" I said, standing my ground.

"You pick up on things quickly" said Loki, he was so close to me now I had to look up to face him, "Now, what did you just call me?"

"Are you trying to scare me?" I asked.

He smirked and turned back round to walk away from me.

I smiled and turned away from him.

"If you're gonna call me your sweet then I can call you what I want, Mischief Boy" I said, sitting back down on the floor.

He flexed his hands out by his side before facing me.

"You will address me properly, mortal" he said, wow, shit he looked angry. Anger management much...

"Oh, will I?" I said, moving from my sitting position so I was lying on the floor. I couldn't be bothered with an angry 'anger management' Loki.

"And I already told you, I'm not a mortal" I said, frustrated. Why couldn't he grasp this simple fact?

I closed my eyes for a minute, I quickly opened them when I felt pressure on my wrists and ankles. My eyes widened as I saw there were two Loki's staring menacingly at me. One of them held my feet down, the other held my arms down.

"Loki! Or.. Lokis! For gods sake! Get off of me!" I shouted.

I looked over at the other side of the cell to see another Loki walk up to me, he stood beside me and smirked.

"Why should I, mortal?" he asked.

Right. That's it. Shit is about to hit the fan. I warned him. I fucking warned him.

"FOR THE LAST TIME I AM NOT A MORTAL!" I yelled at him.

The two Loki's who were holding me down disappeared and the real Loki, the one who was standing before, was forced backwards and hit the wall of the cell.

I stood up and glared at him.

"What are you?" he demanded, forcing himself to stand.

"Could you not find that out yourself when you were rummaging round in my head?" I sighed, "I am a Priestess of the Old Religion, and I will not be pushed around by some Asgardian prince who thinks himself better than everyone else!" I shouted.

Loki smirked and stood properly to face me, "I am a GOD, you PATHETIC creature, and you will KNEEL!" he demanded.

"Why don't you come over here and MAKE ME?!" I shouted at him.

He scowled at me and stormed over to me.

"Okay, stop" said a voice outside the cell.

Me and Loki froze and looked around.

To my surprise it was Fury. He didn't look angry, actually he looked quite amused at mine and Loki's argument.

"That's enough fighting for now, kids" he said, laughing.

'We're both older than him' I said in my mind.

Loki grinned, shit, he heard that didn't he?

"We don't want you two killing each other in there, okay?" said Fury, his smile still lingering on his face.

"Did you not just see what she did?" asked Loki, pointing at me accusingly with an eyebrow raised.

"Eh, what I did? He just told me to kneel! And he kept calling me names" I said, crossing my arms.

"I referred to you as a 'mortal' and you feel the need to throw me across the room!" said Loki, angrily.

"Well I'm not!" I said, facing him.

"To me you are" said Loki, dragging his eyes from the floor to look at me.

Our eyes locked awkwardly for a minute before he pulled away and looked back at Fury.

"Can you two cope in there without killing each other?" asked Fury.

Loki grinned mischievously.

Fury looked back at me and raised his eyebrows.

"... Yes, fine" I said, turning to walk over to the wall. I leant on it and slid down it to the floor.

"Good" said Fury, he smiled and left.

When the door shut, Loki wandered over to me and sat down beside me.

"Don't say anything" I warned him, staring at the floor in front of me.

'I wasn't going to' he said in my mind.

We sat in silence for a while before I spoke up.

"I'm sorry" I said out loud, "Maybe forcing you across the room was a bit of an over the top reaction" I looked over at him, "Are you okay?" I asked.

Loki looked at me briefly before standing and walking over to the opposite side of the room, he stood by the glass and peered down outside it.

I sighed and stood up, I walked over and stood beside him.

"I will never be 'okay'" said Loki.

For some reason, I knew he wasn't talking about me throwing him across the room.

"Loki..." I began but stopped when his eyes met mine, he didn't look like the terrifying 'I obviously need anger management help' god from before, he, well, he kinda looked scared for a second. Maybe it was just me but his eyes seemed to turn to a darker shade of green before changing back to the blue tinged green colour.

In some moment of courage I took one of his hands in mine, his face expression softened a little but his eyes never left mine.

"You're okay now, aren't you?" I asked.

"Take a look around us" said Loki, "Of course I'm not okay"

I gave him a frustrated look and let his hand fall from mine.

Before I could walk away, Loki grabbed my hand holding me back.
His fingers intertwined with mine as he did so.

I looked down at our hands, confused, then back up at him.

"I'm sorry" he uttered, "I know you're not a mortal, I should respect that"

I smiled at him before leaning up and kissing him on the cheek.

Loki seemed a little taken back by my actions.

"You know," I began, as Loki moved a step closer, "You're really not as bad as you've made yourself up to be"

I moved away, Loki let my hand slip from his.

"No," said Loki, his face fell and his expression froze, "I'm worse"

I walked over to the edge of the cell and lay down again, looking up at the ceiling.

I closed my eyes, letting his words sink in.

This was gonna be a long day or however long a time period I'm locked in here for and this mission just became a whole lot harder and confusing.
