"Doctor, I got the transmission data you wanted i just need to... Oh my!"

Sam liked to think that she was fairly quick at processing new ideas, information and highly intelligent; she wouldn't have graduated top of her class if she wasn't. However she couldn't process the impossibility in front of her; well it wasn't impossible because she was seeing what Liara had been so giddy over earlier.

"Traynor!"

She liked the Doctor most of the new arrivals; Javik had insulted her, and Kiran had spent most of his time working on his X-Wing. The Doctor was different; he was a man of science and learning.

She'd spoken to him on quantum entanglement and other area's of interest and instead of being totally uninterested, like Vega, or interested but not able to follow like the Commander; he'd followed the discussion and we suggested improvements! to the Normady's bleeding edge communication technologies. One wave of his screwdriver thing and he'd sped up comms throughput by nearly five percent.

"Where do you want to start."

"It's very... "

"Impressive? Extra-ordinary? Amazing?

I'm nearly twelve hundred years old, so I've heard it all. And yet, it never gets old."

"...Utilitarian."

The Doctor deflated a little.

"Oh."

She wanted to give him a hug, he looked like kid that had had his favourite toy taken away from him.

"No, no... Don't get me wrong; this ship is amazing.

Transdimentional engineering, the ability to travel anywhere in time and space; even now, with all the advances of the last hundred years alone, it's the stuff of science fiction...

It's just that I always imagined that a time machine would have a little more... Flair."

"Well perhaps the next control room will; she knows, but she's not telling."

Samantha had learned quickly that sometimes the Doctor made less sense than normal.

"The TARDIS or Professor Song?"

"Yes.

Now, you said that you had transmission data for me?"

"Shep.. The Commander said you could have everything we have on the Reapers."

"Good; always useful to know what we're up against. Everything has a weakness... Well most things do."

Sam's datapad beeped.

"That can't be right; what are Turian's doing at Grissom Academy?

I need to run this pass EDI."
