A/N: Hi! :D I am in a really good mood today! Why? I don't know! But I LOVE it when I'm in a good mood!

I'd like to say that it was a trick of the light. That Michelle's eyes were finally giving up on her. But I'd be lying, and I try (I can hear Yoda telling me, "Do or do not. There is no try.") to not lie. So I ran. I ran all the way back up to my apartment, without stopping. New record of one mile. I was going to congratulate myself, but it wasn't the time for that. Obviously.

I curled up on the couch, staring at my hands. What caused them to erupt in flames? Was it all the buildup of stress? Or was it the sudden anger I felt towards my father?

"Ohhh," I groaned. "My head..."

"What makes you happy?"

I glared at Isis. "This isn't exactly the time."

She stared back placidly. "What I have to say is of great importance, Elizabeth."

"I'm listening."

"You and Michelle are far from ordinary. Your...supernatural...gifts were in hibernation at birth. When you and Michelle were transported into the past of another world, your powers were awakened."

"When I get cross, my hands burst into flames."

"A self- defense mechanism. Michelle should know of hers soon."

"What else?"

"Michelle has the ability to summon gods. She unconsciously summoned Anubis the night he transported you two on your quest."

"Elizabeth! Unlock the door this instant!"

Mum and the rest of my family must have run over after I left. I remembered that I was still in my Maid- of- Honor dress and moved to change. Isis stopped me. "I will return soon, Elizabeth. Notify Michelle, but no one else."

"I understand, Isis. Thanks for coming."

The goddess smiled, her blue eyes cold. "Until next time." She disappeared in a puff of rainbow- colored smoke. Either she liked dramatic exits, or it was just a side- effect of traveling.

I stared at the carpeted floor, forgetting my family on the other side of the wooden slab. Someone- probably my mother- pounded on the door. I closed my eyes, letting a single tear escape. Keys jingled as someone- our landlord, likely- unlocked the door. I ran into my room, closing and locking the door.

"Elizabeth!"

I grimaced. Mum was already cross with me for taking a nap earlier. She was going to be in flames when she got to me.

"I'm changing!"

"Get out of there right now!"

"I'm in my bloody room, Mum!"

"Then get out! Jon and I want to talk to you."

I sighed, slipping on my pink sweats and grey hoodie. "Alright, I'm coming." My parents were sitting on the couch, along with Cody and the Daniels family. Luckily, my father was nowhere to be seen, but Tracey, in all her Gothic glory, was leaning on the kitchen counter, munching on a chocolate biscuit. Mum cleared her throat. "Elizabeth, dear, we need to talk."

"Obviously," Michelle grumbled.

"I'm sorry I ran off, but I'm not sorry I blew up at D- at Michael." I said. Mum looked surprised. She obviously wasn't expecting for an apology from me. "Oh," she said in a small voice. "That- that's alright. What I don't understand, though, is how-"

"I'm not normal." I said darkly. "I don't exactly understand why, but the gods have made it clear that Michelle and I are anything but normal."

All eyes turned to Michelle, who blushed. "Don't look at me, I have nothing special to show."

"Yes, actually, you do." I corrected. "You can summon gods. That's how Anubis sent us to the O'Connells; you wanted to have an adventure, so Anubis sent us on one."

Michelle blinked, shaking slightly. "Well then...I stand corrected." She shrugged. "Cool powers, though." I rolled my eyes, smiling. "Yeah, I guess so." Mum enveloped me in a hug. "Why can't you be a normal teenager?" She mumbled. I laughed. "When have I ever been normal?"

This is so late. I can't believe it took me so long to get this chapter done. It's not even a decent length either- 643 words total, excluding the author's notes. Pathetic. Well, I am pretty occupied, what with the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode being last Saturday. Anyway, I'll TRY to have chapter 6 up before January. No promises, though.
