Chapter 03:

The Horned Heroine Retaliates

The day after Peshango attacked Hiroji woke up a little after dawn. Hiroji slowly got out of bed. He looked over to the bed where Louise was still sleeping. Hiroji walked over to the bed and gently shook Louise. But instead of waking up, Louise just rolled over.

"LOUISE WAKE UP!" Hiroji yelled as he shook Louise violently. Mr. Colbert was enjoying the fresh air when he heard a explosion come from the dorms. A few minutes later Louise walked out the main door of the academy dragging a very crispy Hiroji.

"You stupid dog, what do you think you were doing?" Louise said angrily. Hiroji slowly stood up and turned to face Louise.

"I was waking you up." Hiroji said. "You told me to wake you up at dawn last night."

"You could have done it a lot quieter" Louise said. Louise then walked over to the stables and brought out two horses.

"Where are we going?" Hiroji asked Louise.

"We're going to buy you a sword." Louise said. "At least then you will look like not some servant." Hiroji didn't respond, but just got up on his horse.

From inside Tabitha's room Kirche watched the two leave argue and then leave. While Kirche was looking out the window, Tabitha was reading a book in her bed.

"Hey Tabitha, can we take your dragon into town?" Kirche asked. Tabitha just looked up from her book and gave a quizzical looked to Kirche. "Louise and darling are going into town. I want to keep an eye on them." Tabitha sighed and put her book down and grabbed her staff. Kirche giddily followed Tabitha out of her room to pursue Louise and Hiroji.

Louise and Hiroji were walking through town, looking for a blacksmith. It took them a while but eventually they found on in a alleyway. It was a quite run down shop that must not see a lot of business. The man behind the counter looked at Louise and Hiroji and his eyes lit up. He thought he could easily rip these two off.

"Welcome, what can I help you with?" The owner said.

"I'm looker for a sword for my famil... er, servant." Louise said.

"Well I have a great selection of weapons." the Owner said as he walked over a pulled a golden sword off the wall. "This sword was made by a group of famous smiths and is imbued with magic."

"Really? We'll take it. How much is it?" Louise asked.

"Hold a moment Louise, let me take a look at this blade first." Hiroji said. Hiroji then walked over to the blade. "If there is one thing I know about gold, it is that it's one of the softer metals. Because of that, it bends very easily."

"It has been strengthened by magic my boy, so you don't have to worry about that." The shop owner said.

"Then you wouldn't mind if I tested it out?" Hiroji said. At this the shop owner froze up.

"Ha, the kids got you there." a voice said, seemingly from no where. The shop keeper walked over to one of the barrels of weapons and gave it a swift kick.

"Shut up Derf, you keep scaring my costumers away." The shop keeper said. Hiroji walked over to the barrel and picked out a rusty old sword.

"Hey kid, you looking for a good sword." the sword said.

"A talking sword!" Louise said, surprised. "They're pretty rare."

"My name's Derflinger. Pleased to meet you." Derflinger said.

"My name's Hiroji." Hiroji introduced himself. "I'll take this one." The shop keeper looked at Hiroji funny.

"Are you sure. I've had Derflinger for a few years now, and hes brought me is trouble." the shop keeper warned.

"Maybe if you were a honest businessman, I wouldn't have warned your customers away." Derf retorted.

"If you want it, it'll be 300 gold." the shop keeper said.

"Well, that isn't a rip off." Hiroji said sarcastically. "100 gold."

"Absolutely not." The shop keeper retorted.

"Think about it. You said it yourself that Derf here is a nuisance to you. And we'll be taking him away. You should be grateful to us and give us a major discount." Hiroji said. After a few more minutes of delegation, the shop keeper handed Derf over for 100 gold. As Hiroji and Louise were walking out of the shop Kirche and Tabitha were watching the pair from a alleyway.

"Louise bought Darling that rusty old thing? She must have even less money than I thought she had." Kirche said.

"I'll buy a sword fitting Darling." Kirche said. Kirche then moved from her hiding spot and entered the shop, with Tabitha right behind her.

Louise and Hiroji were walking through the town, Louise was showing Hiroji around the town. Hiroji kept respectfully quiet while Louise was explaining things to him. Suddenly they bumped into Guiche.

"Guiche, what are you doing here?" Hiroji asked.

'Torin wants to speak with us." Guiche said. "There's a entrance to the spirit shrine not to far from here." Guiche said and then lead them into a deserted alleyway. On the ground was the Kyoryuger symbol, signifying a entrance to the spirit shrine. Guiche, Hiroji, and Louise stepped onto the Symbol and Guiche fired his GabuRevolver, teleporting them to the Spirit Shrine, where Torin was waiting for them.

"Hiroji, I'm glad Guiche found you as fast as he did." Torin said. "Something very important has come up."

"What is it Torin? Has the Deboss Legion appeared?" Hiroji asked. Troin shook his head.

"No, some one was able to break into the Spirit Shrine and steal one of the GabuRevolvers." Torin said.

'How did someone break into the Spirit Shrine? Only us Kyorugers can enter the base." Hrioji said, clearly puzzled.

"i don't know, but we must retrieve the GabuRevolver as soon as possible." Torin said. Hiroji and Guiche nodded, accepting their current mission.

"Let's head back to the Academy, the thief is probably someone there." Guiche said. Hiroji nodded and he and Louise followed Guiche to the exit of the spirit shrine. After they had teleported back to the Academy, Guiche went running down the hall.

"He's taking this seriously." Louise commented. "This is probably the first time I'v seen him take something seriously." Hiroji didn't say anything, but he put his hand out as if he was expecting Louise to hand him something. Louise looked at Hiroji quizzically.

"Don't play coy, I know you were the one who took the GabuRevolver." Hiroji said.

"What are you talking about?" Louise asked, her voice shaking.

"If you just give it to me, I won't tell Torin that you were the one who took it." Hiroji said, trying to convince Louise to give him the GabuRevolver. After a few seconds, Louise went bolting down the hallway.

"I've been keeping my mouth shut, but... what." Derf said.

"This is a GabuRevolver." Hiroji said as he held his own up so Derf could see it.

"Why is it so special?" Derf asked. "it looks like a strange looking gun to me."

"You'll see." Hiroji said as he took off after Louise. Louise ran through the hallways dodging students in her attempt to get away from Hiroji. Unfortunately for her, Hiroji used to run track back in his world and caught up to her quickly. Louise turned around and cast a spell, blowing up Hiroji. Louise turned a corner and disappeared from Hiroi's sight.

"Stupid girl." Hiroji muttered as he slowly got back up his feet. Louise, knowing that Hiroji would continue following her, decided to hide in the woods on the outskirts of the academy. As Louise ran through the woods she bumped into someone. When she looked up she saw to her dismay that it was Torin.

"Oh hello Torin." Louise said as she stood up and "I didn't expect to see you here."

"Why did you take the GabuRevolver?" Torin asked calmly.

"What are you talking about?" Louise asked.

"Are we really going to go through this?" Torin asked, sounding slightly exasperated.

"Is there something wrong for wanting to fight?" Louise asked.

"It depends on the reason why one fights." Torin answered.

"Then why won't you let me have the GabuRevolver?" Louise asked.

"Because you wish to fight for the wrong reasons." Torin told her. "Your only reason for fighting is power. That is no reason to fight."

"You don't know me! I've spent my whole life as a failure. I'm laughed at on a daily basis." Louise yelled. "I just want to prove to everyone else that I can be something! Is there something wrong with that?" Louise yelled.

"You try and justify yourself but that doesn't change that you do not have a heart of a Kyoruger." Torin said.

"How am I supposed to know what that means?" Louise asked. "What do Hiroji and Guichie have I don't?" Louise asked.

"That is not for me to tell you." Troin said. "Until you are recognized as a Kyrouger your GabuRevolver will never turn yellow." Torin then walked away, not taking the GabuRevolver. Torin walked over to Hiroji who had been watching.

"Do you think she can pull through?" Hiroji asked.

"For all our sakes, I hope she does." Torin said. Torin and Hiroji then walked away. It was clear that Louise needed to be alone for a little bit.

"Is Dricera alright with this? Usually you have to fight the Zyudenryu to become a Kyoruger." Hiroji asked.

"Don't worry, Dricera is fine with it." Torin said. "You may not know but Dricera wants more than a test of ability."

"I see." Hiroji said. Torin and Hiroji walked back to a Portal and returned to the Spirit Shrine. Guiche was sitting there.

"How did it go?" Guiche asked.

"I don't know for sure, but I hope she pulls through." Hiroji said.

Back in the forest Louise sat on the ground mulling over her conversation with Torin. What had he meant about the heart of a Kyoryuger? That and many other questions swirled in her head.

"Is Torin right am I selfish?" Louise asked herself. "Has my quest to be accepted gone too far?" Louise heard a twig break and looked up to see Kirche standing a few yards from her.

"Louise what are you doing?" Kirche asked the he saw what was in Louise's hand. "Is that a GabuRevolver?" Louise let out a sigh.

"It is but, I haven't been accepted as a Kyoryuger yet." Louise said. "I don't think I ever will."

"Why do you think that?" Kirche asked. "Do you think you aren't good enough for it?" Louise looked up at Kirche quizzically.

"It's not that. Torin said that I don't have a heart of a Kyoryuger." Louise said. "And I don't know what he meant by that."

"Well maybe you should start simple." Kirche suggested. "What do Guiche and Hiroji have that you don't?"

"Supportive parents?" Louise said sarcastically.

"No." Kirche said. "Let's try this instead. Why are they fighting?"

"How am I supposed to know?" Louise asked. "This is impossible!" Neither of them heard Hiroji walk up behind them.

"Do you want to know why I fight?" Hiroji said causing the girls to turn around. "I've come to a new world with nothing but the shirt off my back. I fight because I don't have anything precious to protect, so I will protect what's precious to the people around me." Guiche walked up beside Hiroji.

"Come on Louise you keep looking at us like we're better, but in reality nobody's perfect. Supporting one another is what makes a team strong." Guiche said. Both of the stretched out their hands. Louise smiled as she looked up at the two.

"I'm an idiot." Louise said. "And you two are crazy, fighting monsters by yourself." Louise said as she took their hands and let them help her up.

"That insanity is called bravery and we Kyoryugers run on it." Hiroji said. Suddenly a beam of light hit Louise's GabuRevolver and it turned yellow.

"I guess I'm crazy too." Louise said.

"So this is where you've been hiding Kyorugers." a voice said from the edge of the clearing. All of them turned around to see Debo Royaroya. Suddenly a cage shot out at landed on Kirche who was sucked into it. "I've got your friend. I think she will make the perfect bargaining chip." and with that he summoned a bunch of Zorminas.

"Wait!" Hiroji yelled, but it was no use the Debo Monster ran off. "Let's deal with these Zorminas so we can rescue Kirche." Hiroji, Guiche, and Louise pulled out their Beast Batteries.

"Brave In!" The three of them yelled as they pressed the button on the top of the batteries.

"Gaburincho! Gabutyra! Stegotchi! Dricera!" The GabuRevolver called out.

"Kyoryu Change!" The three called then spun the cylinder on the GabuRevolverscausing the music to play. As the music ended they pointed their GabuRevolvers in the air.

"Fire!" The three yelled. After they transformed, Louise looked down at her suit.

"Pink. I guess it works." Louise said. The three Kyoryugers charged the Zorminas Hiroji ran at one of the Zorminas and threw a punch at it. The Zormina dodged out of the way.

"Hey what happened to me?" Derflinger said. "I'm all new and look completely different." Hiroji dodged out of the way of a attack by a Zormina and pulled out Derf who now looked exactly like the GaburiCalibur.

"Cool, I can put you to good use." Hiroji said. Hiroji then opened up the MoBuckle and pulled out a Gabutyra Beast Battery. Hiroji then opened up the Beast battery compartment in Derlinger and inserted the Beast Battery.

"Hey! What are you doing you don't just insert stuff without asking." Derflinger said.

"Oh, I didn't know you were that brave." Guiche commented.

"Wow, that derailed into innuendos quickly." Hiroji commented as he closed the compartment.

"Vamola!" Derf yelled. "Wait why did I say that?" Hioji ran at the nearest Zormina and slashed it, causing it to explode. Hiroji looked over to see Guiche and Louise finish off the last of the Zorminas.

"Let's keep moving." Louise said. "The Deboss Monster went that way." Louise said as she pointed towards where Royaroya had run off.

They found Royaroya in a quarry waiting for them.

"Deboss Monster, Hear our Roar!" Hiroji yelled, starting their roll call. "The Fanged Hero! Kyoryu Red!"

"The Armored Hero! Kyoryu Blue!" Guiche yelled.

"The Horned Heroine! Kyoryu Pink!" Louise yelled.

"The strongest and bravest in history! Zyden Sentai Kyoryuger!" Hiroji yelled and was joined by the others.

"I don't care!" Royaroya yelled as he attacked the Kyoryugers. The three Kyoryugers were knocked back by the attack, sparks flying from the attack. Hiroji got up and inserted a Beast Battery into the top slot of the GabuRevolver.

"Armed On!" Hiroji yelled as he ran the GabuRevolver down his arm.

"Armed On!" The other two yelled as they did the same thing. The Three Kyoryugers ran at Royaroya at the same time and knocked him backwards.

"We need to aim for the cage and break it." Hiroji said. "That's the only way to release Kirche."

"How do we do that?" Guiche asked.

"Guiche run up at him and Louise you aim for the cage." Hiroji said. The two nodded, showing their agreement. Guiche ran towards Royaroya with his shield raised. Guiche slammed into Royaroya and began to push him back. Louise then jumped over Guiche and struck the cage with the Dricera Lance. Royaroya fell backwards with his cage destroyed. In a flash of light Kirche appeared at Guiche's feet.

"Let's finish it." Hiroji said as he pointed his GabuRevolver at Royaroya.

"Vamola Mucho!" The GabuRevolver called out.

"Zyuden Brave Finish!" Hiroji called out as he pulled the trigger.

"Chomp, CHOPOOM!" The Gaburevolver called out. AS the attack hit Royaroya he fell down and exploded.

"We won!" Louise said.

"Not so fast." A voice called out. The Kyoryugers turned around to see a armored figure and a short figure walking towards the fallen Royaroya.

"Who are you two monsters?" Guiche asked.

"That stings! I am The Sorrowful Knight Aigaron!" Aigaron introduced.

"I'm Luckyuro!" Luckyuro said. She than began to rummage around in the pouch on her stomach until she pulled out a watering can. "Ah! There it is! Nutritious Joyro." Luckyuro then poured the water over Royaroya. Louise and Guche gasped as they saw Royaroya grow to a gigantic size.

"So It's begun." Hiroji said. "Now we get to the true battle."
