Heart to Heart 78: A Brother's Worry

Introduction

Dunban: Spyro? Are you okay? What are you doing out here?

Spyro: Just... thinking about home.

Dunban: We'll find a way to send you back, I'm sure of it.

Spyro: It's not that, it's someone back home.

Dunban: Who?

Spyro: My brother.

Pass/Pass

Dunban: Cynder had mentioned your brother at one point. Sparx, was it?

Spyro: That's him alright.

Dunban: So what's got you worried?

Spyro: It's more like he's probably worried about me.

Dunban: Ah, I get it. Older brother worries. I think we discussed this once. Didn't we?

Spyro: Maybe we did, maybe we didn't. I don't know for sure.

Dunban: But I get it. I'm the same way about Fiora. I mean, ever since she got done with that doctor's appointment, she hasn't been the same.

Spyro: What happened?

Dunban: I have no idea. She won't tell me.

Spyro: Maybe she's trying to protect you from something, rather than you protecting her.

Dunban: (Recognizes Spyro's probably right, with a chuckle) That would be fitting, wouldn't it?

Spyro: I could be wrong though.

Dunban: Cynder had mentioned your brother at one point. Sparx, was it?

Spyro: That's him alright.

Dunban: So what's got you worried?

Spyro: It's more like he's probably worried about me.

Dunban: Wait, didn't we already talk about this? He's just being the older sibling?

Spyro: He's only older than me by 3 minutes for one thing. And for another, I guess this time I'm worried about him, because he's worried about me.

Dunban: I'm... not sure I follow.

Spyro: The last thing I heard him say was him basically begging Cynder to keep me safe. I'm worried he's already lost hope in us coming back.

Dunban: Don't. If Sparx is anything like you've described him, he hasn't given up faith in you two coming back yet.

Spyro: You think so?

Dunban: I know so.

(Net Affinity: 0)

Dunban: You have a brother?

Spyro: Yeah, I think we talked about him once?

Dunban: Maybe? My memory isn't what it used to be.

Spyro: Well, either way, I guess I'm worried about him again, just because he's worried about me.

Dunban: Well, if he's the older one like I suspect, of course he's worried about you. Why wouldn't he be?

Spyro: Yeah, but I mean, he's got to be nervous that we haven't made it back yet. What if he stops trusting Cynder and I because of this?

Dunban: I highly doubt that will be the case. If Sparx is the brother I think he is, this won't stop him.

Spyro: He's always had trouble trusting Cynder.

Dunban: If I had to guess, her keeping you out of trouble longer than expected might get him to trust her more.

Spyro: I can only hope. Because once he finds out we're a couple now, he's going to flip.

Spyro: Yeah, I think we talked about him once?

Spyro: Well, either way, I guess I'm worried about him again, just because he's worried about me.

Dunban: And you're worried he won't forgive Cynder if he thinks you're dead.

Spyro: I... guess that's what it ultimately boils down to. How'd you get there so fast?

Dunban: That's exactly how I feel about Shulk and Fiora. Part of me didn't want to trust him any longer after Fiora supposedly died. I'm glad I withheld judgement.

Spyro: I think we all are on that front.
