I feel bad this is the last chapter, and that I'm ending it so abruptly and kinda shitty-like. Hopefully you will like the final part anyway. Sorry it took months to finish it up!
Finn honestly believed he was in love with Marshall Lee. He had been in relationships before and felt love. When he was a kid he felt it, but it was different then, and simpler.
His past love was nothing like this. It wasn't so hot he couldn't breathe—the air was stuffy and Finn loved it. Every nerve on him was sensitive and awake. His heart has never been so wild before, thumping, the sound of a rabbit running in a race.
This love was intense. A thrill ride he was happily stuck on. Looping around in circles and then suddenly moving into downhill's, then Marshall always brought the coaster back up and around again.
Was it okay to feel this way after only being here for less than a month? Did love at first sight even exist? Or even love within the first week? Even if there wasn't, and other people didn't believe it, Finn couldn't lie to himself. Or lie about how he felt.
"Finn. You're keeping me up."
Finn felt and saw the vampire move next to him. "Sorry."
For the past week they had been sleeping together in the same bed. Finn was just glad Marshall didn't have to use the couch or that he did, because that couch sucked bubble butt.
This past week had been amazing. Spending it alone with the vampire in bed, and even letting the vampire drink his blood and do other things like touch each other. It was amazing. Marshall was amazing.
But it made it harder to think about having to say goodbye.
"You okay, babe?" Marshall Lee lifted his head from the covers, hair wild and eyes sleepy. "Your hearts going crazy."
Finn shrugged. "Yeah. Can't sleep, though. Too awake."
Marshall grinned. He floated up, taking part of the blankets with him—Finn snatched them back—and landed on top of Finn. He was light, probably not fully on Finn's body. His breath was hot on his face, hair tickling his cheeks. "I know several things we can do to make you sleepy, Finn."
Finn couldn't help but smile. "Yeah? Like what?"
"Give me a kiss and I'll tell you."
Finn rolled his eyes. His lips softly connected to paler ones, and spread them open with his own, exhaling gently, before leaning his head back on the pillows.
Marshall's eyes were as wild as his hair. He leaned down, hair brushing Finn's nose and face as he nuzzled his cheek. "You smell good."
Finn shoved the vampire's head away. "You are not drinking my blood."
"Why?" Marshall moaned.
"Because."
"What if I jerk you off, too?"
Finn turned bright red. "Glob, you just don't care what you say, do you?"
"It was only a question. Yes or no?"
Finn couldn't help himself. "Yes."
Marshall grinned. "Let's get rid of these pants. They're in the way." He slid his hand under the blankets and Finn shivered when Marshall's cool hands touched his hips to grip the top of his underwear. He breathed against Finn's neck heavily while he slowly pulled them down. "Lift your hips, babe."
Finn blushed when he was totally nude beneath Marshall who wore nothing but boxers. He closed his eyes, mouth open, feeling the cold air hit him in all the right ways.
Marshall started to lick his neck, his hands caressing Finn's thighs and stomach. It was good but not what Marshall promised him. "Marshall…you said…"
He chuckled. "I did. And I will. Be patient."
Finn whined. "Marshall!" He jerked himself up, moving Marshall with him.
"Okay," Marshall laughed.
Finn buried his face into Marshall's hair as he was gripped. He was too hot, with Marshall on top of him, his own hard on pressing against Finn's thigh. Marshall was jerking his hand so fast up and down his painfully hard penis he didn't even know if he could hold on for the next few seconds.
He put his hands on the vampires lower back, trying to find some leverage to move himself up to catch more of his movements. "Marshall…gonna…unnngg—glob!"
Marshall nibbled his skin with his fangs, Finn shivering as he did. "Already? Well, I'd better get started then." And he bit down so suddenly Finn saw white and he was gone, feeling the wetness at his stomach, and neck. Marshall sucked his neck and pumped his penis slowly, and Finn just lay there letting him have his way, done and sated.
The vampire let him go and lifted his head after licking over Finn's neck. His eyes were hazy, probably like Finn's. "Well, that was fast. At least you didn't black out like the last three times."
Finn hit Marshall weakly on the chest. "Jerk." His eyelids were dropping.
Marshall laughed. "Just go to sleep."
_BREAK_
"You bitch! Get outta my house and don't you come near here again!"
Finn woke with a gasp, hearing Marshall yelling. He sat up and looked around but saw no one. Then he heard the shouting again.
"If you ever look at him, or come within a mile of him, I will tear that crown off along with your ugly head!"
His voice was close to demonic, and scary. Who was he yelling at?
Finn got dressed, wincing at the stab of pain he felt in his neck from Marshall's biting, but hearing a crash he ignored the pain and ran downstairs.
There were two people in the living room, Marshall Lee and a woman. And from what Finn could guess, by looks and the ice imbedded in the wall, this was the Ice Queen. She looked like one, at least, and she had the crown like IK. Really, if IK had an opposite, this was the perfect match. She was actually kind of creepy.
She smiled evilly at Finn, and he winced, almost taking a step back up the staircase. "This is the human boy toy. He looks recently fucked."
Finn flushed, but glared. Before he could say anything Marshall floated over to him. He set a hand protectively on his shoulder. He was glaring at her, too, but his eyes were demonic, like his voice. "Leave. Now. Or I will kill you."
She pouted. "Marshy, I thought you and me went way back—"
"GET OUT!"
Finn tensed. "Marshall…"
The Ice Queen smirked. "You want me to leave? I won't just go away. If you won't have me, this human boy definitely will not have you!"
She wanted Marshall? As in, like Finn wanted Marshall?
No, she just wanted to have sex with him, Finn realized.
Suddenly she had a big sharp piece of ice in her hand, and tossed it right at Finn. Marshall pulled him away just in time for it to stick hard against the wall behind him.
Finn was tucked into Marshall's chest, and then he was shoved behind him and Marshall was attacking her with his big clawed hands and sharp vampire teeth. They danced around each other, threw ice shards and fire balls. Finn had to dodge a lot of both. Really, though, he could see that IQ was just aiming at him, and he wished he had some magical powers to defeat her with.
Then there was pain. Nothing but pain, right in his stomach.
He looked down to see one of IQ's ice spears stuck in his abdomen, and he gripped the frozen weapon and fell onto his knees, eyes watering from the sheer pain. He couldn't even moan or scream, all he could do was open his mouth and there was silence. When he took a breath, his entire body tensed.
There was silence. The battle seemed to have stopped. Finn glanced up, barely able to see with the tears streaming down his face. Marshall was looking at him, eyes wide in horror, IQ behind him grinning wickedly. The vampire screamed so loud Finn wondered if the entire world could hear him, and the vampire turned back to slam his fist of fire into IQ's face hard. She fell back and crashed into the wall.
"LEAVE MY HOUSE ICE QUEEN OR I WILL TEAR YOU APART AND SEND YOU TO THE NIGHTOSPHERE AS A GIFT TO MY HEARTLESS MOTHER!"
She left out the door, her face in flames, wailing.
Marshall, now in his normal form Finn was used to, without the claws or big demon eyes, sat down in front of him. Like when you found out your cat died, or something, Finn thought.
There was warm blood that ran down the cool ice, Finn could feel on around his wound, sticky, but not the pleasant sticky like when Marshall bite his neck. When Marshall touched the ice gently, and his face was just pure misery, Finn covered his hand over the red stained blue shard, and smiled. "It doesn't hurt anymore."
Marshall flinched. But then he smiled, somewhat sadly. He caressed Finn's cheek, and said, "Don't worry. You'll be okay."
Finn sighed against the hand. "Marshall… If…if this…" He sucked in air, gasping as it ached. "If this is it, I want you to know…I really like you… And I just…" He blinked away the fuzzy vision. "You make me happy." Finn almost fell forward, but Marshall caught his shoulders. Finn smiled. "You got rid of my loneliness."
Marshall smiled. Finn swore he saw tears in his eyes, but his vision was too foggy. "You got rid of mine, too, Finn."
Finn felt unsteady, like gravity was pushing and pulling from all directions, spinning him around. Every part of his body was turning to ice, especially his chest. He barely heard Marshall telling him in a muffled voice to hold on, and he did try to hold on for him, he wanted to stay with Marshall, but he just couldn't any longer.
He reluctantly let the darkness take him. His last image was seeing Marshall's face fall.
_BREAK_
He was floating, and then suddenly he wasn't. Solid ground, or something like it, was beneath him, and it was warm and comfortable, and not just open space like where he was, cold, afraid.
There was the sound of blood in his ears, and he felt his chest rise and fall.
He wasn't dead.
Finn opened his eyes, and he immediately saw something out of the corner of his eye move, and he sat up, ready to fight—last he recalled there were IQ and Marshall—only to be shoved down.
"Let go!" He struggled against the hand holding him down, which wasn't doing much but gently pushing.
"Finn, it's okay. You're okay."
He lay still. "Marshall?" Finn opened his eyes wider, and in the bright lights of the big room he saw the vampire smiling down at him.
"Yeah, babe, it's me."
"Where—?"
"Candy Kingdom," Marshall said, helping him sit up. "I took you here after you fainted. Doctor fixed you up, but it took all day to get that ice out of you without totally ruining your insides. They saved you."
Finn shook his head, blushing. "You saved me, Marshall."
Marshall smiled, and it wasn't a normal smile. He looked like he ate something rotten and was trying to hide that he did. "Yeah."
"What is it?" Finn decided to ask.
Marshall frowned. "What?"
Finn sighed. "You're…being un Marshall Lee. I don't know," he shrugged, "it's just, something feels different."
"Something is."
Finn tensed. "What is?"
Marshall touched his hand over his, resting them over the top of the blanket. "Finn, you honestly—well, you make me…" Marshall sighed, shaking his head. He spoke the rest of his words almost rushing them, but putting so much behind each Finn couldn't breathe while he talked. "You're different and you get it, and you act like you hate me sometimes but you still stay with me. But I like it when you fight, especially when we end up naked. And when we had sex…I never cared so much about the other person before." He paused for a half of a second. "Finn, I care about you a lot."
Finn smiled wide, and he knew he would tell him how much the vampire meant to him. "Marshall, I—"
"But," Marshall interrupted, causing Finn's smile to fall. "No matter how much I want to keep you with me, I can't do that to you. I can't keep you from your real family, even if you feel the loneliness you do—and I know what it's like, and it hasn't gone away yet, but it will, trust me, it will eventually because you have Jake and all of them." Marshall seemed tenser, talking about that. But then he straightened himself up. Staring Finn right in the eyes, he said, "You have to go home."
Finn couldn't breathe. Marshall was rejecting him? Telling him to leave? "I can't go—"
"Gumball is back. He just got back last night."
Finn scoffed, tears choking his throat, threatening to fall. Marshall was so unemotional Finn was afraid. "What, and he—"
"Apparently he has a portal like your Princess. It's been locked away for years on the dead Candy King's order but he promised to keep it a secret between us. You can go home now."
Finn sighed and he let his hand go from the vampires, and he rolled to lie down. "Fine. Just…go away now."
He didn't know what he was doing acting this way, maybe just because he was hurt, but if Marshall was so eager to have him leave now after all the good times they'd had—and he cared about Finn, he said so twice just now!—Finn just couldn't listen or see him anymore. Or at least not right now, when he was ready to sob like a baby.
Because he really believed he loved Marshall, and he felt it inside, when he was around him, when he talked and when they had fun together. And that Marshall wanted him gone, even when he cared? It made no sense. But there was no sense in anything love did, he guessed.
"Finn, I didn't—"
"Please." Finn shut his eyes tight, and this feeling he had in his chest wasn't from the ice spear hitting him. It was from Marshall. "I'm…" He sighed shakily. "I'm really tired."
Marshall touched his neck with his cool hands, and Finn almost sobbed. He wouldn't feel him anymore, either, when he left here. Marshall's hands wouldn't touch his face, his lips wouldn't kiss him, and those fangs wouldn't be able to scrap teasingly along his skin anymore.
"I did mean it when I said I care," the vampire said after a moment.
Then why won't you fight for me to stay anymore? You said you'd do anything to keep me, then do something! was what Finn wanted to say, but he was suddenly tired and said this instead: "I know. Just-just go. For now. But…see me off when…when I leave?"
"Yeah. I will."
There was silence after Marshall's hand went away. Not even the soft whooshing of Marshall leaving him, and Finn wondered if he even left or just went invisible. But he was either too tired to look or just didn't care to, and he went to sleep.
_BREAK_
The portal looked like PB's. But it wasn't the same, either. This was older-looking, and dusty, rusted a bit, and it would give him so much pain, rather than the fun he wanted when he used hers.
They were outside in by the statues Finn and Marshall looked at before. Gumball was at the controls beside the big circle disk-thingy. When Finn called it that, the Prince tried to explain to him what it was actually called—Finn ignored it. He just couldn't care about that kind of stuff, now or ever.
Because Marshall wasn't with Finn. He was either late, or not coming.
Finn held himself together with his arms and tried not to cry in front of the Prince.
"It's almost ready," Gumball said, still at the controls, "another minute and you can go home."
"Okay. Thanks."
Gumball smiled. "You're welcome."
"Sorry I'm late!"
Finn turned to see Marshall flying high in the sky. He couldn't keep away the big smile when he landed right beside him. And he gasped happily when Marshall hugged him.
"I'll miss you so much, Finn," he said, and sounded so heartbroken.
"Maybe you could ask Gumball to use the portal again and see me?"
Marshall looked forlorn. "It—it's going to be put away again. He's breaking the law, letting you use it. If it's kept out there could be danger."
Finn melted into him. "Why?" he whispered.
Marshall sighed. "There were some bad guys who used it to destroy worlds. Gumballs dad had it put in the vaults."
"O-oh."
"It's ready!" Gumball shouted over the roar of the machine.
Marshall squeezed him. "We had fun, right?"
Finn took a deep breath of air. "Yeah. Um, Marshall? I want to tell you I—"
"You think you can get away!"
All three of them looked to see Ice Queen tearing her way through the sky. The side of her face was burned, and her entire body screamed revenge.
Marshall growled. He held Finn impossibly close to him. "Ice Queen! I told you to stay away!"
She was headed right at them. But when she got closer, Finn noticed she wasn't headed for Finn or Marshall. He looked over at Gumball to see he was away from the machine, probably hiding from her somewhere, and realized what her intention was.
He stepped away from Marshall, who tried to pull him back. He had to go through the portal before she destroyed it, or stop her. "She's going to—"
An ice bomb exploded, right beside the controls of the portal, and the little box at the side of the portal shook and blew up. Finn was thrown back so hard he knocked into Marshall Lee, and they watched from the ground as the portal glowed, a swirling rainbow of water. Light spewed from it like a thousand waves. Seconds later, they sucked back into the portal's circle and Finn saw Ooo, PB's lab. It was showing where the other portal was, or rather what the other portal saw.
Marshall carefully moved Finn off of him and flew up to grab the Ice Queen at lightning fast speed. Then he threw her right down to the ground, where she landed in a big pile of dirt.
She rose from it, coughing and angry. Then she floated high and pointed at Finn. "You'll pay for stealing what is mine, boy toy!" and she flew away again.
Marshall landed beside him. He helped him up, asking if he was okay. Finn blushed at the treatment but nodded.
Gumball was back at the controls, trying to fix was broken. They both went to stand behind him, asking what was wrong, and if Finn could still go home. He just messed with the box, or what was left of it. A little screen and a few buttons, but that seemed enough for Gumball to do his thing.
"It's stuck," he said moments later, in awe.
"What?" Finn asked. "It's…stuck?"
Gumball swiped at the screen again. "I can't close it. Or open another world."
This time Marshall asked, "What do you mean?"
The pink prince messed with it more, pushing buttons and swiping the screen, obviously frustrated. "Something's very wrong. I don't—I don't think it's fixable. If I try to close it…" He looked back at them. "I'll destroy Ooo and Aaa." He continued to explain why that would happen, but stopped and frowned at Finn and Marshall when he saw them smiling.
Finn only heard the unsaid words in what Gumball said. Now that the portal couldn't close, Ooo and Aaa were open to each other.
Finn held Marshall tighter than he ever had. "We can be together. I don't have to leave you."
Marshall smiled. "Yeah. Finn?"
"What?"
"I love you. That's what I meant to say when I said I cared about you."
Finn laughed. "I know. I love you, too, you big jerk."
The End. The very cheesy end.
I want to say thanks to everyone who read this junk! :D THANK YOU!
I will probably not do anymore ATWFAJ fics. I will finish what I started, though, including fight for finn and to love a vampire. Just might take a while!
LOVE ALL AROUND!
