I won't let her go, no matter what.

She gasps for breath.

I cradle her in my arms and kiss her forehead.

"It's alright, this will all soon be over," I whisper in her ear.

The anger, hate, and betrayal boils up in me, leaving me helpless. I tried to save her, but couldn't.

The first spark of morning light pierces through the darkness that surrounds us.

"I'll never let you go," I tell her over and over.

They wouldn't help me for anything, not even my dying sister.

My anger starts to rise. I yell into the sky, asking why it had to be her.

She stares at me, a small smile starting to form on her lips.

The sun starts to rise, casting a yellow glow on the world around us.

"It's alright," I hear her say. "I can see the light."

Hot tears stream down my face. I bite my tongue to keep from crying out.

"I'll never let you go, but you must be strong for me," I tell her.

I'm afraid of what will become of me when she's gone. I tremble with anger.

"Goodbye," she whispers to me.

I scream as she slips away. They did this to her. They must pay for the lives they destroyed.

I'm afraid to leave her now.

I'll never let her go.
