Sorry it's been so long- I'm suffering sever health problems and I've been exhausting myself with doctors visits and such.

But it has been a while since I last updated this story, so... Here's the next chap of All or Nothing.

Enjoy!

The injuries that Kira had gotten from her foolish attempt to teach herself martial arts hadn't been as bad as Donatello had first thought since she not only regained consciousness several days after her fall. But the tube that was helping her to breathe, and the neck brace keeping her neck and spine aligned were removed as the family gathered in the lab/infirmary while Donatello checked Kira's vitals for any sign of distress.

"I don't get it." He said as he finally straightened his spine and pulled the stethoscope away from her chest, his expression confused. He had been so sure that she had damaged her body far more than what he was finding. Yet everything was looking good.

Her throat wasn't swollen closed, her heart and lungs were working as they should, her blood pressure was good...

It was so strange.

I'm missing something here, He thought with a frown as Mikey came forward and grasped one of Kira's hands and asked her if she was hungry. She blinked at him for a moment then nodded her head.

Of course she was hungry. She couldn't recall the last time she had eaten but it felt like a lifetime ago.

Mikey grinned at her and squeezed her hand then lifted it to his mouth and gave it a kiss before letting her hand go and running out of the room to get her something to eat before Don could so much as say, "Nothing solid!"

Leaving the rest of them to crowd around their little sister and let her know that they were glad that she was okay while Splinter hung back a bit and observed.

He was puzzled by Kira's body's ability to heal itself. From the way Donatello had spoken when she was injured and unconscious- she had been on the verge of death. So how was it possible that she was well mere days when her body should have taken weeks to recover? He glanced at Donatello and made a subtle movement that caught his son's eye and saw the flicker of Donatello's honey gold eyes before he visibly relaxed.

Ah, so his son also knew that there was something not right with Kira-chan.

The only problem was, they needed to know what it was that was wrong with her so that they could better raise her and see to her needs. But there was simply too many variables to go through, it would just be easier to ask her. But the problem with that was that there was always the chance that she didn't know anything was wrong or was hiding what was wrong with her in order to appear more normal.

Could her healing ability have something to do with why her parents were murdered? Splinter wondered as he made a soft humming sound and watched Raphael jump up to sit on the bed next to his young daughter and wrap an arm around her slender shoulders, mindful that if he wasn't careful he could injure her all over again as Leo took hold of one of her hands. And started telling her about the cards and origami flowers that were waiting for her in her bedroom once she was well enough to leave the lab.

"Mikey did a really good job of drawing puppies and kittens and flowers and stuff on those cards." Leo said with a serene smile as Raph laughed and said,

"Yeah but I think he went a little overboard with all the glitter."

"Yeah..." Don chimed in with a smirk as he crossed his arms and said, "I've only seen one person so colorful and glittery before and that was master Splinter when he fell victim to one of Mikey's jokes when he first discovered glitter a few years back."

Raph laughed aloud at the hysterical image of Splinter covered from head to toe in glitter and said between gasps, "That stuff almost never came out of his fur!"

It was at this point that Splinter felt it would be good to remind his children that he was standing right there and he could hear them. Clearing his throat, his son's all fell silent and shifted to make an opening so that he could move in closer and see Kira. "Hello little one." He said affectionately earning a happy smile from Kira.

"Hi, She rasped in a low throaty tone that had his son's all gaping in shock. He might have done the same if not for the act that he had heard her mumble to herself a time or two when she thought no one was around to hear her. "How long did I sleep?"

"A few days." Leonardo answered as she shifted slightly on the bed and leaned her head back so that it rested against Raphael's arm a bit more. Holding her head up was starting to make her neck a little sore.

"Explains why I'm hungry." She said more to herself than them as she lay there with her small hands folded over her stomach, waiting for Mikey to return so that she could eat something.
