-10 weeks later-
Juliet sat on the couch with her boyfriend, her hands resting on her large stomach. Shawn looked at the TV screen focusing on Star Wars. He peeled his eyes from the screen to glance at Juliet's expression. Her visage was bored and tired. "Jules, how can one not love this work of art?" he asked, a smirk played at his lips.
"It's stupid." Juliet retorted.
He gasped dramatically. "Star Wars is not stupid." he argued.
Juliet shrugged, "I'm not interested in fantastical movies like this." she replied.
"How dare you call it 'fantastical'." he mimicked in her voice. "It's obviously Sci-Fi." Shawn corrected.
Juliet stood up from the couch, "I'm going to go make use of the next two hours." she smiled, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek and leaving the room.
After the movie was over, Shawn found Juliet in the room where they planned to put the nursery. "What'cha doing?" he asked, startling her.
Juliet turned around, "We should have a baby shower." Juliet blurted out.
Shawn smiled. "Could be fun." He considered the idea.
"But it would be fun." Juliet answered. "Think about it, free baby things, fun games, friends, it'd be great!" Juliet convinced.
Shawn shrugged, "It's your baby." he said carelessly. Juliet shot a look at him. He knew that Juliet hated it when he referred to Sydney as 'her baby'. "Can't we just buy the baby clothes and things like that?" Shawn recovered.
Juliet sighed, "Well, I want one so..." her voice trailed off as she waddled out of the nursery. Shawn followed.
Shawn placed a hand on her shoulder and spun her around, "How 'bout we discuss this topic over dinner tonight?" he offered, and added in, "I'm buying." Shawn knew how to win Juliet's heart.
"Well I can't say no to free food. Fine." Juliet smiled.
Juliet looped an earring through her ear and quickly looked at herself in the mirror. A sigh escaped her lungs, she had definitely gained weight since she'd gotten pregnant. Juliet walked out of her bedroom and met Shawn in the living room. She made a slight cough and Shawn turned around. His eyes widened. "Jules, were just going to Outback." he chuckled.
Juliet clicked her tongue, "Well I decided to dress up. Do you like it?" she smiled, doing a 360.
"It's- Well- Um..." Shawn stuttered.
"You don't like it, do you?" Juliet's eyes softened.
Shawn shook his head, "It's really, really beautiful, but you might look a little out of place." Shawn reasoned. "Maybe you could wear it to a nicer restaurant." Shawn suggested.
Juliet sighed, "Fine, I'll go change." she pretended to be hurt.
At the restaurant, a hostess greeted them. "Would you like a booth or a table?" she asked. Shawn and Juliet exchanged looks.
"Booth." Shawn answered. They were brought to a booth in the back of the restaurant. Juliet slid in only to find that her stomach barely fit into the booth. The table squished her stomach, making it hard to breath.
"Uh, Shawn? This is going to sound weird but, I can't fit into the booth." Juliet smiled, her face turning red under the dim lighting above them.
Shawn giggled, until he saw Juliet's face turn angry. He immediately stopped, "It's fine, we'll just get a table." Shawn smiled. Juliet sighed.
The waitress came to their booth holding a notepad. Shawn looked at Juliet.
"Um, could we have a table? My stomach won't fit..." her face was turning a bright red. The waitress nodded.
"You can sit over there." She pointed to a table a few feet away. JUliet nodded and waddled over to the table. Her face turning redder with each step.
After dinner, Juliet and Shawn sat down on the couch. Shawn wrapped hist arm around Juliet and she lay her head on his shoulder.
"I'm going to go lay in bed. I'm tired." Her voice cracked, revealing the fact that she was about to cry.
Shawn stood up and followed her. "What's wrong, Jules?" he asked. Juliet shook her head and shuffled faster into her room. Shawn stretched out his arm and placed it on her shoulder. "Jules, you can tell me anything." he smiled.
"Shawn, I'm fine. It's hormones." she sniffled.
"Jules, I know you. Something is wrong." Shawn pried.
Jules shook her head, but Shawn held her in place. "Shawn, it's nothing." Juliet moaned. Shawn stared at her, waiting for an answer. Juliet sighed, "I'm just feeling insecure, it's stupid." JUliet looked down. "I've just gained weight, I'm a hormonal mess and I can't even fit into a booth." Tears fell from her eyes. Shawn smiled.
"Jules, you are beautiful. I don't care what anyone else says, you are beautiful." Shawn kissed her and let go of her shoulder.
That night, Juliet realized something. "Shawn, we never discussed the baby shower." Juliet told.
Shawn smirked, "Ah, I was hoping you'd forget." he sighed.
"Well we're gonna talk now." Juliet said, placing her hands on her hips. "I think we should have one, and we could invite both families. It could be a Jack And Jill Baby shower." Juliet suggested.
Shawn shrugged, "Okay, but I'm not playing any games." he compromised. Juliet sighed, and held out her hand as if they were making an official deal. Shawn shook it and patted the couch for Juliet to sit down next to him. Juliet sat down and lay her head in the crook of his neck. She closed her eyes and sighed, imagining how much fun a baby shower would be.
HE HE! Baby shower fiasco! Yay!
