(A/N: Hola people. Anyway I wanted to write more on this chapter but decided to put everything in the next chapter, but I wont be able to update until Tuesday :( no wifi will I have, that be the con to going out of town. So, I hope you enjoy and I'm sorry for an of those MR fans that HATE max and dylan but I had to put some in. Thank you for commenting and just reading this story, you guys are amazing in EVERRRRYYY way haha.
"Not to butt in or anything, but you don't seem as broken up as you should be about loosing Fang. Didn't mean to spy but I did hear that little shpiel you two had on the porch before you went in." Dylan blurted out. We were now walking east on an old back road, the scenery had changed from lush trees back to dry hot dessert.
"I'm not broken up about loosing Fang because I'v already lost him. I lost him a year ago, we're different people now. I was going to leave this morning anyway."
" Cold much." Dylan mumbled.
" Cold may it be, its true." But it really wasn't true. As much as I wanted to admit that I have no care in this god for saken world for Fang, I really did. Loosing him again was like finally getting the presents who've wished for for Christmas, then having them taken away. Every word I that passed my lips about not caring for him burned, but I had to stay a rock. If I fell, I would fall forever. So, in the mean time I'll keep my feelings hidden. There's no reason for Dylan to see them. I'll survive; after all I've survived the past year without anyone, it wasn't until I got mixed up in people that I was bitten. On that note I wondered if Dylan had known about my bite.
It had been about 2 days, we were now heading up toward Idaho. Dylan had said that Fang told everyone to meet up in Idaho right on the border. There were rumors of a survivor camp had spread along the west coast .
" You know where we are going right?" I asked Dylan.
"Yes, I'm great with direction."
" Whatever you say." I state while rolling my eyes. In the past 2 days, nothing has happened. We hadn't seen any walking corpses, nothing had changed with my bite, we hadn't come upon any other people nor an sign of civilization. Not one town or building, just a road.
" We're running low on food and water." Dylan stated as we took a rest by a group of boulders.
" You can take my share, I'm not hungry nor thirsty. I haven't been for about a day now." I said looking out toward the dry desert. My lips were cracked and my eyes watered from the dryness. It had been getting colder and colder each day, that the clothes we had were not helping.
" Don't you find it strange that we haven't found anything, not even one corpse. And it's really quite." I said skeptical.
" I guess its just a bit weird, but its the desert. It's suppose to be barren. And I'm not taking your share, now come on we need to keep moving." Dylan ordered. I flicked Dylan off as he offered to help me up, that's what he gets for commanding. We began north again, climbing uphill.
"If you don't mind me asking why are you following me, you were going to leave anyway, so why follow?" Dylan asked.
" To make sure you don't die." I sarcastically stated, but that wasn't the reason. As much as I didn't want to admit it I was curious to see if Fang and Emilo ware alive. They were the only thing I had close to family at this point in life.
" We should have found a car before we made our way there." Dylan said huffing, we had been walking for about two hours now and still nothing,
" That was your fault, your the one who said and I quote' No time to find a vehicle, we need to keep heading north', see your fault." I stated clearly.
" Well I didn't know we were this far away from Idaho." he admitted.
" Oh really, Mr. I'm great with direction." I shook my head and laughed.
" Oh hush, I don't need to hear about my failure from you." He pushed me slightly.
" Oh you really want to do that, don't you remember what happened last time we got in a fight." I pushed him back harder.
" Yea, and I was so going to win." he laughed and ran away, but not before pulling my knotted hair.
" Jerk." I ran forward catching up to him in a split second and tackling him to the ground. I had him pinned in the sand, with my knees on his side straddling him. " See, I will always win."
" I don't think so." he shifted his weight to slip his hand out of my grip. His hand went to my other arm holding his other hand and grabed it making me fall on top of his chest. Dylan flipped us over to where he was now straddling my waist and holding my hands down with his own. Our faces a little to close. " Told ya." he playfully said.
" Ass, that was luck." I glared.
" Ha, luck? I don't think so, babe." Did.. he..just..call..ME..BABE.
"Now you asked for it." I lifted up my leg and kneed him in the groin, hard. He crumbled on top of me moaning in pain." Thats what I thought." I shimmied out from under him and started forward." Idiot." I simply said as he rolled around in the sand.
I looked out to the horizon and noticed that we were about a mile away from some canyons." Well there should be water over there, from rain getting caught."I huffed out an turned around, Dylan was beginning to recollect him self." Come on Mr. Cocky, we gotta find some water." I walked of the road and started toward the canyons with Dylan following. I wasn't sure if it was hunger or the bite taking affect but I had a bad feeling about this.
