Chapter XIX

Sherlock couldn't believe his ears when he heard what the problem was. Those scientists had the nerve to put a machine which can either erase or replace any kind of memory. Not only that it was a prototype that has her days numbered! And he thought that he didn't have a heart.

"The chip will kill her?!" Sherlock exclaimed, "I'm afraid so…" Envy said, "If the microchip stays in her head any longer, she will die." "I know there was something affecting her brain, but I didn't think it would actually kill her." Shadow said with his ears going down, "Can't we do something about it!?" John had exclaimed.

"There is only one way." Korra said after finally calming down, "If we can surgically remove it before it has a permanent effect on her, there is a chance that she could survive." "Well how long do we have?" Ziva asked. Envy and Korra both looked at each other, then they turned back to them. "That's the problem." Envy said, "We don't know."

"Yeah, considering how long it's been in there and without keeping an eye on it." Korra said, "It could enter it's final stage any second now."

"If that's the case we don't have much time." Sherlock said, "Well why the bloody hell are we standing around here?! We have to go get her!" He suddenly started to walk away from the group until John had stopped him. "Wait a second! We don't even know where they took her!" He said, "Elementary, my dear Watson!" Sherlock said to John, "Rats will always retreat back to their nests."

At first the group didn't understand his words; In a matter of seconds however, they understood the detectives words. "You mean to say they took her back to Rutledge?!" Envy said. All Sherlock did was just give him a look and he automatically knew. "But why would they take her back there when we already know where they're hiding?" Tony had asked.

"Don't know, but they took her back there!" Sherlock said to the agent, "And we have to get over there now!"

"You're right." Gibbs said, "Let's go over there now!"

"Count me in." Shadow had volunteered. Everyone just stared at Shadow. "What?" he asked.

"Are you crazy!?" Andrew said, "You'll get yourself killed!"

"He's right." John said, "You're still recovering from your injuries."

"I don't care about myself, I care about her!" he said to the two.

"Yeah, but you'll end up walking straight to your death!" Andrew yelled back at him.

"So what do you suggest I do, let her die at the hands of that monster!?"

"I never said that!"

"You're pretty much thinking about it!"

"Hey, cool it you two!" Gibbs said, "We got more important things to do than debate right now!" They both stood there in silence. Shadow then turned to Sherlock. "Please, you have to get me to come with you." He said, "I promised her I keep her safe, and she's the only family I have left."

Sherlock stared at Shadow, just thinking. Soon he said, "Alright, you can tag along."

"Thank you Sherlock, I appreciate it." he said to the detective. It wasn't long until John pulled Sherlock to the side. "Sherlock, what the hell!?" John said, "If he wants to help, then let him help."

"But he's still recovering!" The former army doctor told him.

"Don't worry, we'll keep our eyes on him."

"But-"

"It's his decision John, don't go making it for him. Besides, I think he's had enough of that for now."

John then turned from him and thought about it for a moment. "How do we know for sure, if she still wants him?"

"That's the thing John." Sherlock said, "We don't know."

-Rutledge Asylum (Blood Letting Room)-

Medusa and Nazo entered the room with Sakura in hand. "The black blood is ready, my lady." Nazo said, "Prepare our guest." Medusa said. Nazo nodded and went to place the injured child on the bed and strapped her to it.

"The trap is now set." She thought, "Now all that's left is for the prey to come and try to steal back it's treasure."
