CHAPTER 8: Companions
A blurred figure dashed along rooftops in Santa Fe. Her hair flowing in the wind, her purple hoodie flashed in the afternoon sun. Jumping from roof to roof she hoped to lose the harpies chasing her. A cold feeling rushed down her back and she rolled to the left, wasting no time she turned around and pushed her wrist out, the harpy was flung back by an invisible force. The shocked creature was catapulted back into her fellow partners and gave their pursuer time to build a lead on them
A buzzing went off, the girl whilst running reached into her pocket and took out a pure purple phone. The display read ' Turn right and jump off the building- aiming for the red light u see'. The now puzzled girl decided she had no other option but to follow what the mysterious figure said. Turning right she spotted a red light and leaped into the air- turning three hundred and sixty degrees whilst in the air.
Landing on flour boards she squatted down and looked up to find a boy with sea green eyes staring at her. ' Hey' the boy said before offering out his hand. She took it and pulled herself up.
A boy who was about eighteen and had blonde hair smashed his way through trees, eager to escape from the hulking angry dogs, he leaped over a large log before tensing and ripping it from the ground. He proceeded to swing it like a baseball bat, taking out enemies left right and center. He then proceeded to smash his foot into the ground creating a piece of earth to shoot upwards and impale a hell-hound in mid air-instantly turning it into dust.
The young man then took a rusty and worn out spear from his back. Smashing it into the nearest hell-hound he could find before whirling round and smashing it into an other. '' Yeah how do you like that'' he screamed before charging at the group of monsters as a red aura surrounded him. He rolled,slashed, ducked, dived, dodged, and dipped his way through the countless hell-hounds, until all but five remained. But at the last moment the aura around him flicked and vanished. The boy collapsed from the sudden loss of energy and power. He stood up and looked the hell-hounds in the eyes, waiting for his end. Suddenly he felt a strong gush of wind, and a shadow of a ship appeared on the ground beside him. He looked up and saw a boy raise his hands before a massive fireball was generated between the them, the boy let out a shout and the deadly fireball flew towards the hell-hound. Upon contact it completely destroyed the hell-hound scattering dust everywhere.
Thats all he saw before he blacked out.
Percy sprinted along the desert looking ground, his shoes bring dust into the air as he rushed towards his target. Willing himself to go faster he practically flew across the ground. When his target was twenty meters away he willed his armor onto himself. A brilliant blue glow flashed across the area. Without slowing down Percy pulled one of his throwing knifes from its strap before hurling it at his target. A captivating bang ringed in Percy eye as his 'friend' the minotaur was blasted back several meters. Percy leaped the remaining ten meters to his target before pulling out the new and improved riptide.
His eyes quickly darted to it. The handle was pure black made from imperial gold , it was wrapped tightly with leather that felt as soft as wool. The blade itself was much like the old riptide, except the blade was thinner and wasn't as wide as before, giving it the impression of a however not only made riptide as light as a piece of paper, it somehow made the blade stronger and unbreakable unless a huge amount force was applied to it.
Bringing his focus back onto the battle. Percy raised riptide in midair bringing it down on to the minotaur as he came down. The said beast raised his massive two handed axe in hope to stop Percys attack, however when Percys new blade met the minotaur axe all it did was slice it right down to the hilt. rolling between the beasts legs Percy with the speed of Hermes turned around a sliced the minotaur's head off before it could even twitch
