"Do you happen to know where Bella is she's not in her office" I say
She looks up with a worried expression "Bella is at the hospital"
Chapter 6
EPOV
"WHAT WHY?"
"Her son was rushed in this morning" she states
My feet were on auto pilot bolting out of the office and down to my car. I drove like a madman weaving through the streets of Seattle making my way to the hospital. My mind was running with all the possibilities, I arrive parking my car and running through the emergency room doors.
"Hey Edward are you after your dad?" asks Tammy the receptionist
"No I'm after a Mason Swan" I say out of breath
"Room 104 Edward" she says
Taking the elevator to the children's ward I find Mason's room I gently knock on the door.
"Come in" I hear my dad's voice
I walk into the room that is filled with novelty kid painting's on the walls. I see Mason asleep on the bed Bella is next to him holding his hand.
"Hey son what are you doing here?" my dad says looking over at me
"I know the patient you're looking at, his mum over here" I say pointing to Bella "works for me, how is he?" I question
"His fine I've already treated his broken arm I was just checking up on him" dad says
I look at the bump under the blanket assuming it's his cast. The poor kid I walk over and touch his head lightly pushing the hair off his forehead
"I'll be back later with the discharge papers" dad says leaving the room
Bella looks over with a worried expression as she strokes her son's hand.
"I'm sorry I couldn't make it to lunch" she utters softly
I chuckle at her; she seems to care about everyone else's welfare but hers.
"Don't worry about it I think having your son in hospital is a legitimate excuse to take a rain check" she giggles at me
"So what happened" I ask her
"Well I was about to pull up to work when my mum called and said that her and dad rushed Mason to hospital after he fell off the monkey bars at their house"
"Why don't you take a couple days off work until you get everything sorted with Mason" I offer
I knew I wasn't supposed to do this without the right paper work but I knew she was going to need. I could sort out all her work once I got back to the office.
"I can't Edward I still have a lot of work to get done" she states
"Don't worry about it Bella I got it under control" I say calmly
"I don't want people thinking I'm receiving any special treatment I mean I've been working at your company for only a month" she says in an irritated tone
I raise my hands in defence.
She let lets out a long breath of air "Sorry I didn't mean to snap but I don't want people thinking wrong of me"
"That is understandable" I say
"Hey buddy" I hear Mas say
"How are you little man" I say looking down at him
"I'm good look at my cool blue cast" he says excited pulling the blanket down to show me.
After talking to Mas for a little while I leave the mother and son alone. I instruct Bella to take the whole day off without a fight I bid them a good day and head to my father's office.
"So is that the Bella Alice has been talking about" my dad questions when I sit on the couch
I run my hands through my hair "Yeah it is can you make sure they get everything they need"
"You're really taken by that young lady and her son, I'll make everything is going to be okay for them" he says reassuringly
"Bye dad I'll see you Sunday"
"Bye Edward"
I head back to the office grabbing a quick bite to eat on the way.
BPOV
It was actually really sweet of Edward to come by the hospital it shows his a real genuine guy showing concern for my family. Mason got the all clear to go home everyone at the hospital was really friendly and helpful with Mason's discharge.
It was pouring out the next morning; despite the fact that he broke his arm at his grandparents' house Mason was eager to show his cast off to them. Getting out of the car I quickly get out of the rain making it to my office. I found a note with elegant handwriting sitting on my desk
Dear Bella,
I hope everything is okay with Mason and that you've gotten some rest yourself.
See you for lunch later? Please let me know.

I put the note away making my way to the break room sitting down with my coffee I read a book till my shift starts.
"So what is it, did you sleep with him"
I look up at a fuming Tanya before I can even get a word in she starts her rant.
"I knew you were a slut I mean how else would Edward have noticed you"
"Excuse me" I say standing up
"What it's the truth?"
"Where's your evidence" I retaliate
"Are you trying to deny the fact that you basically threw yourself onto him" she says getting up in my face
"Don't go around making rumours and accusing people if you can even back yourself up alright, I didn't even do anything to you" I say defending myself
"Yeah right first you try to steal my man then you go taking days off whenever you like and on top of that you had the nerve to leave all your work for me to do, do you think your all high and mighty"
"First of all I'm here to work not to steal anyone's man are delusion or something" I say taking a breath
"Secondly for your information my son was in hospital so I had to care for him"
"What couldn't your husband take care of him while you were at work or were you to busy whoring yourself to other men?" Tanya says
She did not just say that, you've got to be kidding me right how childish can this women get.
"I think it's time for a reality check Tanya" I say, she tries to talk but I shut her down
"Now if there is any person here that would sell themselves it would be you" I point at her
"Look at the way you present yourself, your fake tan and makeup make you look like an umpa lumpa. Then you wear a skirt that was made for a teenager not for a grown adult its way to small and tight. Lastly your boobs are practically popping out of your blouse I sometimes wonder why ever bother buttoning it up at all so really have a look at yourself Tanya who is the real slut here" she looks at me in pure shock
"What can't take a dose of your medicine" I state grabbing my coffee and book turning away from her
"How dare you" Tanya says grabbing my arm causing me to spill my coffee on her she lets out a loud screech.
"Why you little bitch" she sneers trying to launch at me but ends up slipping over in the spilt coffee in her six inch heels
She looks up at me with her mouth wide open.
"Close your mouth Tanya you don't want to catch any flies" I say
I go to make myself another cup of coffee when I hear a loud eruption of cheers from the doorway. I was so pissed of Tanya I didn't even realise everyone working on our floor had crowded around the entrance of the break room. I hear cheers of "GO BELLA!" and "she so deserved that".
I grab my coffee and make my way through the crowd. I see Tanya at the corner of my eye struggling to get up in her tight outfit.
I take a seat at my desk letting a long breath out. My shift has barley started and I have to deal with this shit already I get stuck into my work wanting the day to be done already.
I hear my stomach grumble, grabbing my wallet and keys I notice Edwards note in my drawer I look at the time and realise it's already 3 o'clock. Time really got away from me I head to Edwards office.
"Sorry Miss but Mr Cullen is having an urgent meeting in there at the moment" I turn and notice a small little lady with auburn hair maybe around late 40's sitting at Jessica's desk.
"Oh okay can you say Bella stopped by" I reply politely
"Are Bella Swan" she inquires
"Yes and you are?"
"I'm Karen Mr Cullen's new assistant, a lady with a coffee stained outfit said she would inform you of Mr Cullen's meeting" of course Tanya wouldn't tell me this
"If you want you can wait for Mr Cullen the meeting should finish in ten minutes" she offers
I take a seat in the waiting area and start reading some magazines. I see a large shadow towering over me. Looking up I'm met by a bright dimple smile of Emmett.
"Hey Bells" Emmett greets me
"Hello Emmett"
"What are you doing here" he asks
"I'm waiting for Edward we were meant to have lunch" I say
"Isn't it a little late for lunch it's almost three forty" he says looking at his watch
My stomach decides to growl again causing Emmett to laugh at me I blush.
"Well someone is definitely hungry why don't you come to my office, there's always food there" he says
"Actually I'll take you up on that" I say
"Hey Karen can you tell Edward I'm going with Emmett" she smiles and nods while writing it down
I follow Emmett his office he opens up his mini fridge and gives me some food and a bottle of water.
"Thanks Emmett"
"No probelmo Bells"
"So a little birdy told me you had quite the run in with Tanya" he says with a cheeky grin
I blush whilst eating my food.
"She needs to face the facts and reality" I state
Emmett sits opposite of me I eat silently as he scrolls through files on his computer.
"I just got a link sent to me of your argument with Tanya want to watch it with me" he says all excited, I look at him mortified
"Someone recorded me? is this going to affect my job Emmett" I ask
"No not unless a complaint is filed" the chances of Tanya filing a complaint against me is high
"So do you want to watch it?" Do I?
I finish my food throwing away the scraps Emmett turns the monitor so the both of us can watch it. I was actually proud of myself being able holding my own ground. By the end of the video Emmett was in stitches because he was laughing so hard I couldn't help but laugh as well.
"Oh Bells that was great good umpa lumpa reference by the way" Emmett says still laughing
"Well thanks Em wait can I call you Em" I ask
"Yeah sure I call you Bells anyway"
"I better get going my breaks over" I go to open the door only to have it opened for me by Edward
"Hi Bella sorry the meeting ran overtime so are you ready to go?"
"That's okay I just had lunch and my break it over so I have to get back to work anyway" I say
"What about tomorrow" Edward asks
"We'll see Edward, bye guys" I wave at them and leave the room
I finish work and head to the car park only to find my car well Edwards borrowed car with scratch marks all along the sides. There was only one person who would do this, how was I going to explain this to him after all I was planning to return the car to him at the end of the week.
