Aha! I found a smidgen of my starting notes for this story. It consists of chapters from different books of TPoT. It's not much, and it is only in segments, but Aha! Hope you are inspired to... do something with it, I guess.
Typholius owns no Warriors.
Lionpaw spotted Jaypaw lashing at Owlpaw as the Shadowclan apprentice dodged away.
Owlpaw was taunting Jaypaw, dodging the blind cat's flailing paws and dashing forward to deliver a nip before springing away.
"You're a coward," Lionpaw growled at the Shadowclan apprentice.
Owlpaw's tail lashed in anger. "I'll show you I'm no coward."
Jaypaw gasped in pain as Owlpaw raked his claws over his nose, but Jaypaw didn't back away. Instead, he lauched himself forward before the other apprentice had a chance to dodge, and bowled him over.
Owlpaw screached in pain as the blind apprentice raked all four sets of claws into his pelt.
Lionpaw decided Jaypaw could look after himself and turned around and lept back into the fight.
"You haven't had any training, Jaypaw. As soon as you became my apprentice, there was the sickness, and we didn't get to train."
Jaypaw snarled at his mentor. "Hollypaw was only an apprentice for a blink of an eye, and she got training!"
"I want to be part of the competition."
Jaypaw could feel a spark of confusion and sympathy hit him as Firestar padded forward. "Jaypaw, I'm sure Leafpool will need your help with-"
"Fox dung! Leafpool will be fine," Jaypaw snarled. "It's me who is having the problem."
Jaypaw could feel Firestar's worried gaze on his pelt. Why does everyone think I'm useless?.
"The medicine cats with apprentices may join the competition against other medicine cats with apprentices."
Firestar's yowl was like a blessing from Starclan to Jaypaw's ears. He padded forward with his mentor into the center of the group of cats. He could smell Mothwing and Willowpaw a few foxlengths in front of him.
"The first medicine cat battle will be between Mothwing with her apprentice Willowpaw, and Leafpool with her apprentice Jaypaw."
Leopardstar was somewhere behind him. She sounded as if she were completly sure that her cats would win. "Let the battle begin!"
Jaypaw braced himself for an attack, but it didn't come. Instead, he heard Leafpool's surprised yowl as both Riverclan cats tackled her. They obviously think I won't be worth their time. They had Leafpool yowling in frustration between them. Jaypaw located Willowpaw and leaped for her. He crashed into a cat, but it wasn't Willowpaw. He was thankfull that it was Mothwing, not Leafpool. He slamed into the Riverclan medicine cat head first and she was knocked off her paws.
Jaypaw heard Leafpool brake free of Willowpaw and there was more scuffling; It sounded like Leafpool was winning.
"Thanks, Jaypaw," his mentor panted.
Jaypaw heard Mothwing charging towards him. He scampered between her legs and she tripped. She hit the ground with a grunt. Jaypaw lunged at her, but she rolled out of the way, and Jaypaw felt her paw collide with the side of his head. He lost his balance, and she was ontop of him.
"You fought well for a blind cat," Mothwing meowed into his ear.
"I'm not done yet," he retorted, and jabbed his hind paws into her belly and threw her off. He was about to attack, when suddenly, a vision flew over his eyes.
He was underground and he was struggling to breathe. He flailed his paws in desperation, but the earth seemed to be swallowing him. Starclan Help me! He suddenly realized his paws weren't his own gray paws, but were mottled and broad. He was looking through Lionpaw's eyes! Jaypaw thought quickly. Where was Lionpaw? Then he remembered, Lionpaw was hunting squirrels by the Windclan border.
"What's wrong, Jaypaw," he heard his mentor ask, but he was already running off to the windclan border.
Jaypaw could smell Windclan cats. He pricked his ears and heard many cats creaping through the camp. Why are they being quiet? If they came for help, they wouldn't be quiet about it. Jaypaw realized it was an invasion when he heard his brother's yowl to battle.
"Stay in the den, Jaypaw." Leafpool was instantly beside him. Waves of fear and something else washed over Jaypaw's pelt.
Jaypaw dodged away from her in disgust and leaped out of the den.
Jaypaw heard a cat yowl in pain from somewhere ahead of him. He stopped and sniffed the air. Riverclan! What were they doing here? Jaypaw crept closer to the fighting. Honyfern and Sorreltail were struggling against three Riverclan warriors. By the sound of it, the Riverclan cats were winning.
"This is too easy," one of the Riverclan warriors mocked the struggling Thunderclan cats.
Jaypaw felt fish tinged fur brush against the bush he was hiding in. He let out a fearsome screach and lunged onto the Riverclan warrior.
The warrior yowled in pain as Jaypaw sank all four sets of claws into it's fur. Jaypaw was flattened into the ground as the Riverclan cat desperately tried to scrape him off by rolling over.
"And Jaypaw's mentor will be Cloudtail!"
Jaypaw sniffed the air to locate the white furred tom. Jaypaw scented him near the back of the gathering of cats. Cloudtail let slip a glimmer of dismay but quickly covered it.
"Hey, Jaypaw." Cloudtail sounded uncertain.
Jaypaw showed his teeth. "You don't have to feel sorry for me."
Cloudtail recoiled. "I never said, I mean-"
"I want you to attack me."
Cloudtail was pacing the training hallow, and Jaypaw kept his blue eyes on where he knew the white tom was.
"We'll talk about what you have to work on afterwards."
Jaypaw tried to locate where his mentor was, but Cloudtail kept moving. Frusterated, Jaypaw launched himself into Cloudtail's general direction.
Jaypaw felt his paws knocked out from under him, and he gasped as he crashed into the ground.
"No, You should have known I was going to leap to the side."
Jaypaw got even more frusterated and instantly leaped again. towards his mentor.
Cloudtail was caught off guard, and Jaypaw crashed into him. Cloudtail stummbled, but managed to stay on his paws.
"That was better," Cloudtail meowed.
Jaypaw lay panting in the sand as he waited for more instructions.
"I think you should relie on surprise and speed when you're fighting," Cloudail meowed after a few heart-beats. "If you could catch another cat and get him on his back, you could just tear at his belly until he gives up." Cloudtail suddenly started pacing again.
Jaypaw caught his breath as he waited for Cloutail to speak again. At least he seems to be trying to help me.
"Jaypaw, attack me. And try to trip me this time. Use your senses to figure out my position."
Jaypaw pricked his ears. He could hear Cloudtail's breathing and figured out which direction he was facing. Jaypaw crept forward with his belly fur brushing the ground, and raced between Clutail's legs. Cloutail grunted in surprise as Jaypaw used his forepaws to wrap around Cloutail's forpaws, and with his hind paws, he thrust himself into Cloudtail's belly, unbalancing him. Jaypaw didn't stop there. He twisted his entire body while he had his mentor's front paws, and rolled the white tom onto his back.
"Now you're in position to deliver some painful attacks." Cloudtail sounded impressed, and Jaypaw realized he *was* in a position to finish the attack.
"We need to come up with some follow up moves for when the battle really starts to rage." Cloutail sounded excited now.
Suddenly, there was a rustling of bushes and Jaypaw scented Lionpaw and Ashfur.
"Cool, we can train together," Lionpaw meowed in excitement.
"Cloudtail might want to work with Jaypaw alone for now," Ashfur crushingly replied.
Jaypaw felt disappointment wash off of his brother's pelt, but Cloudtail padded forward.
"I think it would be fine to test Jaypaw against another cat his own age, that can see," The white tom meowed. "We still need to work on battle moves, and it would be easier if we could see what Jaypaw can do already"
"Fine by me," Ashfur meowed. "Lionpaw can show us what he can do, too."
Jaypaw felt exhilarated as he padded into the center of the clearing with Lionpaw.
"Don't think I'm going to go easy on you just because you're my brother," Lionpaw meowed.
Jaypaw just barred his teeth.
"Begin."
Jaypaw intantly raced forward, but Lionpaw must have side stepped him. Jaypaw pricked his ears to listen for Lionpaw, and felt his brother land heavily on his back. Jaypaw thought fast and shook himself so Lionpaw lost his grip and Jaypaw used the same move he had use on Cloudtail.
Lionpaw yelped in surprise as Jaypaw pummeled his belly with his forpaws.
"No." Jayfeather was glad that his meow was strong as he spoke to his leader. "Starclan do not want this battle to happen."
Jayfeather felt the warriors' confusion around him.
"If Shadowclan are planning to invade-" Brackenfur meowed but Jayfeather cut him off.
"Are we going to start a war over useless land, right before leaf bare, just because some random apprentice says so?" Jayfeather let his fur bristle with anger. "I wasn't told about a battle, and I don't think Starclan intended for there to be one."
Firestar recovered from his confusion first. "But what if Shadowclan *is* planning to attack?"
"Let us find that out before we waste blood over a pointless conflict." Jayfeather spun around and marched out of the den. He would not let this battle happen.
Jayfeather was in the Dark Forest again. He spread his awareness to try and find another cat, but picked up nothing. Instead, he padded forward into the gloomy shadows of glowing trees.
Jayfeather stopped when he thought he heard voices ahead of him
Tigerstar! Jayfeather backed away from the massive dark tabby, and felt himself brush against another cat. Jayfeather spun around and found himself face to face with Tigerheart.
"What are you doing here, Jayfeather?" the young warrior asked.
Jayfeather brought himself up to his full hight. He detected fear in Tigerheart's meow. "Nothing," he retorted after a few heart-beats.
"I don't want you to go without an escort."
Jayfeather rolled his eyes at Firestar's meow. "I can manage, thank you."
"Come on, see if you can hit me."
Jayfeather gathered himself and leaped towards Breezepelt. Sharp claws caught him on the side of the head, and Jayfeather landed clumsily on the place where Breezepelt had just been. Jayfeather shook his head to clear the ringing, and felt a heavy weight land on his back as Breezepelt attacked him from behind.
Thinking quickly, Jayfeather rolled over and managed to slam Breezepelt into the ground. Jayfeather writhed out of Breezepelt's loosened grasp and spun around.
"You can't hope of beating me, blind medicine cat."
Jayfeather crouched, ready for his enemy to attack, and bared his teeth. He hadn't always been a medicine cat. He had trained as a warrior first.
"Breezepelt, you can't kill a medicine cat," Poppyfrost meowed from somewhere near the stone walls.
"Poppyfrost! Why are you still here?" Jayfeather growled as Breezepelt slammed him into the ground. Jayfeather heard Poppyfrost stumble away, but not leave.
Breezepelt suddenly leaped away from him.
Yeah, I know it is just a big mess, but I did have full chapters for each segment, but they were all lost to a computer crash. I am lucky to have found this much. Review if you thought it was interesting. Also, this stuff is much older than Jayfeather's Conclusion, so it wasn't my best work.
