Another chappie for you guys :) We have a snow day today, so I took a break form studying and decided to write this…
I looked in the mirror, attempting to calm myself. Today was my wedding day, and I was very nervous. After all, what bride isn't?
I put on my pearl earrings and re-pinned my hair.
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in!" I yelled.
The girls, my mother, and my future mother-in-law came in.
"Hi Flora!" exclaimed Stella, looking at me. She and the other girls gasped, taking in my attire.
"OH MY STARS!" she squealed. "You look beautiful; Helia's going to have a heart attack!"
I blushed. "Thanks, Stell,"
My dress was an off-the-shoulder dress with a sweetheart neckline. The top was corset-like, and the dress had elegant ruffles from the waist down. All in all, it was a dress I really liked.
Layla hugged me. "I can't believe you're getting married,"
I sighed. "Neither can I, but at the same time, I'm so excited!"
We all laughed.
"Anyway, Flora dear, the reason we're here is to tell you that it's time," said my mother, putting an arm on my shoulder.
I smiled. It was time!
The girls filed out, and my father came in.
"You look so beautiful, honey," he said, tears forming in his eyes.
I laughed. "Thanks, Dad,"
"I can't believe my little girl is getting married," he said, taking my hand.
"Well, you still have Rose," I smirked.
He smiled. "That's true. Take care of yourself, and Helia,"
"I will,"
"And always love and respect him. That's the secret to any marriage," he said with a little smile.
"Should I tell Mom you said that?"
He paled. "Preferably not,"
And with that, he led me to the room where we would take our vows.
I put my arm in his, and we walked.
Everybody stood up, and Helia turned around.
Everything after that was a blur.
Well, except for the vows and the kiss.
When we broke apart, as husband and wife, everybody was cheering. I laughed as Tecna ran straight for the food.
I really did love my family.
