DarylDixon'sLover- I think you meant Rick instead of Kris? But I will take your comment into consideration. Thank you for the review.

Guest(1)- Yes I favor Rick in my other story but I do not find it gross at all. Kris and Rick have no blood relation. Yes she's Lori's sister but that's it. I have thought it through actually and don't find it the least disturbing. I'm sorry you feel that way.

rjtinka-Haha thank you! Yeah Kris is a badass! Oh yeah I do it to myself as well. I'm sorry I keep changing your hopes! Thank you for loving the story. But I can promise you this Rick with not end up with Lori! & I try my best(; Thanks for the review!

SwoneeSwan- Your review literally took the words out of my mouth when I read that other review! I couldn't contain my laughter when I read it! I loved it so much! You have no idea! It was literally the best thing I've ever read! I completely agree with you. What she did with Shane was gross not this. Haha I am more debating her being with Rick or Daryl more than Shane. But you are right they have to much hate, at this moment. But I appreciate you not pushing the couple on to me.

Also I think you were right about her being unbreakable but I just haven't opened her up yet because of the point in the story. In the next chapter she starts to open up some more and well show emotion. But I don't want her to be a coward. She will always be the tough. But I don't mind a reader's opinion. Thank you for the review, it made my day!

Huh- Thanks for the review, and I'll take in your opinion. But I do not find it gross. Nor am I hypocrite. My morals might just be a little different from yours(:

tatyasdias- I was worried at first about making one up because then somebody would be like her name is 'blah blah' and I would have looked dumb but thank you I hope it was good. Yeah I worry about my accent getting into my writing because I'm from the South. When people say you all I say y'all so yeah haha. Thank you, I think you are also a follower on my Nicole Series. Lol. Yeah that's what I thought when watching the show. If somebody would have been there for him better maybe he wouldn't have been all 'I'll kill you' on Rick. And I'm not sure if she'll end up with Shane but at this point anything can happen. My favorite Kris guy changes every day. So you never know. Anyways thanks for the review and I like the idea, a lot.

kyolover16- Thank you so much for the review and liking the story!

Guest(2)Aka Sara!- Yeah yeah, lol. I don't know why you read these when you know the ending and all the sneak peeks!

babydake93-Thank you for the review, and I'm happy you are loving the story! I'll try to update as much as possible!

Okay I know it's been a while but holidays took some time. No matter I am back with a whole new chapter. I am thrilled about how many people are interested in the story! I love all the reviews and I am just going to shut up.

Remember if you have any questions or opinions don't be afraid to leave a review. I answer them all and love reading them!

Anyways I'm shutting up! Enjoy!

Kris laid against the window holding her hand over her hip. It was hurting a little more than she let Shane see. She did not want to show him weakness. He always used it against her. Though he was being a decent guy right now she knew he would be back to him new self by tomorrow. It was a shame though, she had actually enjoyed being around him. She was just worried about what Lori was going to say.

She hadn't said anything about knowing the men to Shane. As far as he knew it was some random guys looking for a good time. But choosing the wrong girl for it. Or that's how he put it. She figured she'd keep it to herself about knowing the men. Not wanting Lori to give her the "You're a woman" speech for the millionth time in her lifetime. She wasn't going to allow Lori to baby her either. It was a small cut that's all. The glass hadn't pierced her that deep. Maybe a few centimeters or so. She would be better in an hour after she got it bandaged.

She wanted nothing more than to lay down in a bed. But a sleeping bag would do.

They turned on to the driveway heading towards the farmhouse.

"I think it be best if we said I feel on some glass." Kris said looking away from the window to Shane. He looked at her from the corner of his eye before looking back forward.

"And what about your cheek?" He asked slowly down the car a little. She figured he wanted to get their story together. Bringing her free hand up, she gently touched her face. She tried not wincing at the touch. It was a little sensitive. Looking at herself in the mirror for a moment, she realized it did look like she was hit.

"Fine. We'll tell them the truth." Kris sighed looking back forward. "Lori is going to never allow me to go anywhere with out a fight."

"You stood up for yourself. You should be proud. Not many woman can say they took on three large men by themselves." Shane told her causing her look at him with shock. A small smile curled on her lips.

"You think so?" She asked laying her head against the seat.

"I know so. It's pretty impressive" He lightly chuckled at the thought of it. She smiled turning back forward. The house started coming into view. She sat up straight pulling her shirt over to hide her injury. He parked near the RV where Andrea, Glenn, T-Dawg, and Dale were standing. She waved at them before reaching for her things.

"I'll get it." Shane told her grabbing the tent and sleeping bag before she could.

"Thanks." She said opening the door and climbing out. Andrea was the first one to approach her. She took off in a jog towards her. Before the blonde could ask anything, Kris held up her hands. "I'm fine."

"What happened?" Andrea asked her eye flickering to Shane taking in his bloody clothes before returning to Kris.

"Bar fight" Kris said sarcastically slowly leaning against the RV for support. Shane walked around the car holding her things over his shoulder.

"Come on let's get you bandaged up." Dale offered reaching out and helping her away from the RV. She watched him cut his eyes at Shane before leading her away. She should have known it would look bad to him. Her coming back beaten and Shane coming back covered in blood.

"It wasn't Shane." She whispered as they approached the door of the RV.

"I figured since-" She shook her head cutting him off. He helped her sit on the stairs of the RV.

"No he was actually decent to me believe it or not." She weakly smiled taking the bottle of water he offered her. She gulped down half of it not realizing how thirsty she had been. She wiped the water from her chin before sitting the bottle behind her. Glenn had made his way around and were now standing near her. She pulled off her vests before lifting her shirt over her head leaving her in nothing but a bra. She watched Glenn blush at her boldness. She stood up looking down at her hip. Like she thought it wasn't that bad.

"This is no time to be shy Glenn" Dale told him. "I'll need you to go get me a clean rag along with the kit" The boy nodded before walking into the RV. He came back out holding a small first aid kit and a rag. Dale sat it on the ground beside him before opening and pulling the alcohol from it.

"Where you stabbed?" Dale asked pouring some alcohol on to a rag.

"Yeah with some glass but I removed it." She told him accepting the rag and touching it to the cut. She winced as the alcohol stung the cut. "Do you have an bandages?"

"Kris your side" Glenn said grabbing her attention. She looked at him before looking to her side. It was large mark that was forming into a bruise. It was where she hit the bar no doubt.

"Damn." She mumbled running her hand over it gently. She sighed picking up the rag again. She stuck it to her cheek. Dale finished placing the bandage to her hip.

"Do you want one for that?" Dale asked holding the bandage to her cut hand. She nodded allowing him to wrap her hand in medical tape. She didn't know her sister was around until she heard a gasp. Kris turned around to see Lori. She rushed to her side looking over her sister.

"What happened to you?" She asked her hands were shaking trying to reach her sister. "Shane said you got in a fight and were stabbed and I... I" Kris could see the tears building up in her eyes.

"Lori I'm fine." Kris sighed before turning to the two men. "Thank you" They gave her a nod. She pulled her muscle shirt on before gathering the rest of the clothes in her hand. The breath was knocked out of her when Lori threw her arms around her sister's neck. Kris almost fell if it wasn't for Lori's tight grip holding her in place. She pulled away from Kris keeping her hands on her upper arms. Kris gave her sister a soft smile. The worry written all over her sister's face. "I'm fine, don't cry. You know I can handle myself. How many times am I going to have to tell you that before you believe me?"

"You call this handling yourself?" Lori asked dropping her arms from her sister. She motioned towards the blood on her shirt. "This isn't handling yourself. If you would have waited for Shane this wouldn't have happened." Kris gave her sister a look of disgust stepping away.

"What did you want me to do allow those men to rape me until Shane got there?" Kris asked crossing her arms over her chest. "Because that's exactly what would have happened if I wouldn't have fought. I am not one of those women who wait to be saved or are afraid to fight a man, nor will I ever be. I'll stand up to a man and if that gets me beaten to a pulp I don't care. Because at least I stood up for myself."

"But it's not handling yourself. You're always getting beaten up Kris. Getting hurt is not handling it. When will you understand that?" Lori raised her voice at Kris, it caused Kris to clench her fist. Every time. It never failed. They would be having a moment and then it turned into a fight. She really thought Lori was worried. She shook her head.

"Next time I'll lay there and allow them to fuck me until help gets there. At least I'll be handling it right?" Kris hissed before shouldering past her sister and heading to find Shane. She needed to get her tent set up. What did she want from her?

Kris was never right in her family's eyes. She had never said she was right about everything either but shouldn't her sister be proud her sister stood up for herself. She kicked her foot against the dirt. Her family never understood why she did the things she did. They never understood why she'd never go to the police when her boyfriend hit her. She wasn't a coward. She was going to fight until she couldn't fight anymore.

She seen Shane standing near the tree with her things at his feet. She walked over before kneeling down to the supplies. She felt Shane's eyes on her. From where he was standing she was sure he heard and saw her and Lori's argument. She pulled the strap up before looking up at him with narrowed eyes.

"What?" She asked in a snappy tone. He shook his head shrugging his shoulders. Her eyes rolled before she turned back to the task. "What ever."

"I think you handled it well." She snapped her head looking at up at him. He pushed away from the tree before walking away from her. She stared after him as he walked away. Something was different. Maybe her and Shane had an understanding now. He didn't hate her as much now or something. She wasn't sure. But she wouldn't be lying if she said she liked it better when they weren't at each other's throats.

"Do you need help?" Kris jumped around to see Carol kneeled down beside her. She wasn't sure when the woman got there. Kris nodded her head pulling the tent from the bag. Kris flinched when she stood up to fast.

"Damn that sorta hurts." She mumbled looking down at her hip. Carol stood up next to her offering her a hand. She shook her head stepping away. "I'm okay. You get use to it after a while."

"I wanted to ask you about that." Carol said causing Kris to look over her shoulder at her.

"About what?" Kris asked remembering she had wanted to ask her the same thing the other day but Shane had pulled up.

"The other night you said something about dating the wrong kind of men. I was just curious to know if you've dated one that..." She trailed off looking down at her hands.

"That what?" Kris asked sitting back on her knees.

"Hit you?" she asked looking up at her with a sad expression. Her eyebrows knitted together on her forehead at the question. Why would she want to know something like that?

"Umm, I've dated a couple of them." Kris shrugged. "There was Tony, Terry, Brian, and a couple of others but that's all the only ones who ever did damage."

"How did you leave them?" Her voice was so soft it worried Kris a little.

"I just did. Plus having a cop brother-in-law was a bonus." Kris weakly smiled before turning back to her work. "But I never left them for hitting me. I usually left them because I got bored with them or tired of them never because they hit me. I know it's a little strange but-" Kris simply shrugged as she pushed the spike into the ground.

"Why didn't you leave them for hitting you?" Carol asked causing Kris to look her over before narrow her eyes in suspicion.

"Why didn't you leave him for hitting you?" Kris asked catching on the what the woman was doing. She had a feeling at first but as she watched Carol eyes widened she knew.

"How did-" Kris cut her off with a shrug.

"It's not that hard to figure out. I'm good at reading people, plus I know the signs." Kris told her standing up to get another piece of the tent.

"He was my husband." Carol explained watching the girl walk around. Kris stopped looking over her shoulder at her.

"What happened to him? He's not here right?" Kris asked looking around for a moment. She didn't miss anyone did she? She knew Carol had Sophia but she hadn't mentioned a husband.

"No. He died a couple of days ago." Carol explained causing Kris to frown a little. She sighed walking back over to the woman and kneeling down. She placed her hand on the woman's arm.

"I'm not sure if I should be sorry or not." Kris said bluntly causing Carol to sadly laugh. She could see the tears building up in the older woman's eyes. Losing a daughter and a husband? Kris couldn't imagine that happening in just a couple of days.

"He was awful to me and Sophia. I don't know why I ever stayed with him." Carol sniffled before wiping her eyes with her sleeve. "I sorta feel free though you know?" Kris licked her dry lips before smiling.

"Yeah I know what you mean. Like him dying freed you from him in a way." She watched the woman nod before looking up at the blue sky.

"I just wish I had Sophia back." Kris wasn't really good with cheering woman up. Men were easy. She just patted their backs and said "Cheer up buddy things will get better", but woman were different. She didn't know what to say to cheer the woman up about her missing daughter. She looked down at the ground when Carol looked at her. She felt a hand gently lay on her back. "Let's get your tent ready." Kris looked up nodding her head.

Once she had her tent completely up she had moved everything into it. She set out her sleeping bag getting it ready as well. She had her bags in the corner of the tent. It looked empty. She sat down on the sleeping bag looking around the tent. It was the closet thing she had to a room since the outbreak. Usually she crashed in abandons cars, or found sheds abandoned in the middle of nowhere. She never said somewhere more than two days.

She sighed pulling her hair from it's bun before running her fingers through it. Her hand accidentally brushed her cheek causing her to wince. Yeah that's a little sore. She sighed dropping her hand back into her lap. She felt a little lonely sitting by herself in the tent. Standing up, she unzipped the tent before stepping out. She could go visit Carl for a while. Her to do list was done for the day. She zipped her tent back up before she started towards the house.

The weather was amazing today. No clouds just the bright sun high in the sky. A soft breeze blew through the leaves. It felt amazing against her skin. It was the type of weather she liked. Turning towards the sky, she took a deep breath closing her eyes.

Something knocked into her shoulder knocking off her feet. She landed on her ass with an oomph. Her eyes turned to a glare to see what exactly had knocked her on her ass. A hand came out grabbing her up arm and pulling her to her feet.

"Oh I'm sorry, Kris. I was in a rush" Glenn sighed causing her glare to soften. She shrugged him off wiping the dirt from her clothes. "I didn't hurt you did I?"

"Nah, I'm okay." She told him knowing he was worried about her injury. She looked at him before nodding towards the house. "Who's all inside?"

"Lori, Andrea, Maggie, and Carol." Glenn told her quickly. She could tell he really didn't want to talk to her. He was in a hurry to go somewhere. Kris raised her eyebrow looking him over.

"Where you off to?" She asked seeing the nervous look.

"I- uh- I- nowhere." Glenn stumbled over his words causing Kris to smirk a little. She looked around them before returning her gaze to him.

"Mhmm" She smirked, loving how nervous the boy was getting under her gaze. She patted his back softly. "You do what you got do man." She stepped away from him deciding going into the house wasn't the best.

She wasn't sure where all the men were. She hadn't seen Daryl or Rick since she left that morning. Shane had gone off after giving her her things back. She sighed placing her hand where her gun used to be. It was gone now. She would have to get one from the guys or something.

It was silent as she walked down the path around the house. She took in the sight of the farm. It was really pretty and so quiet. Something that looked like it never been touched by the world around. As if the farm was another world where walkers didn't eat the living. She walked near the tree line heading towards the open fields.

After setting up her tent and everything, Kris didn't feel like taking a nap. Her body wasn't as tired as it was before. But her side still stung as she walked. The muscles in her back sore from her being thrown around today. Years of wrong boyfriends finally paying off. She could easily push the pain away. She didn't know if that was rather pathetic or a talent. People like her family would say it's pathetic that she was use to this kind of torture. Then there was people like Shane. They said she was strong for being able to do half the stuff she did.

She smirked a little at Shane's comment earlier. He thought it was pretty impressive that she could take on some men. They were idiots, who weren't that hard to take down. She could have took them down with some witty words with out moving a finger. She snorted at herself crossing her arms over her chest.

She had handled herself, no matter what her sister said. She took care of the situation. So she got a bruised cheek and small cut, it could have been much worse. She could have been raped and killed. Then maybe after Shane brought her beaten body back her sister would finally appreciate that Kris could actually handle herself.

Unlike Lori, Kris didn't hide behind men for protection. She fought and always would. She wouldn't go down with out at least leaving her mark on the other person. Maybe that was why so many girls in high school didn't dare look at her boyfriends or say anything to her face. Of course they talked behind her back calling her a whore. But she would just hold her middle finger towards them before blowing them a kiss. Sometimes she would lick her lips before yelling, "You better keep your boyfriend close, I might have to show them what a real woman is." And that is how she was forced to have mostly guy friends instead of girl ones.

She never really got along with most of girls in her school. They never trusted her around their boyfriends. It's not like she have sex with every guy she met. She didn't have a low self esteem where she would have to sleep with guys to make herself feel prettier. If anything was the problem it was the completely opposite, she had to much confidence. The only girl friends she had ever truly had was Claire and Zoe.

Kris never understood why such a sweet innocent girl like Claire hung around her. Kris was loud when Claire was quiet. Kris was fearless when Claire was scared of her own shadow. But they got a long well. Claire wasn't like Lori. She didn't judge Kris for doing something stupid. When Kris wanted to do something stupid Claire would sigh then go along with it. Most the time Kris would have to talk her into the things but in the end Claire would always do them. Claire's parents hated Kris. They would always say she was a bad influence on their daughter but Claire ignored them.

At least when it came to that. Other than Kris, Claire did everything they told her. She was an honor student hanging out with a smart mouth wild child. They always told her she would end up getting Claire in trouble but Kris refused to let Claire go down with her. If they got in trouble Kris took the blame telling them Claire had nothing to do with it.

Zoe on the other hand was almost like Kris's long lost sister. They two were too much a like. Zoe was wild, fun and didn't give a damn. Kris met her at the diner she worked at after high school. They hit it off instantly becoming friends. But unlike Kris, Zoe had been with the same guy since high school. Kris never understood why Zoe and Kyle stayed together. He was the sweetest guy. A bit of a nerd. And well Zoe was far from it. Kris swore that Kyle was Claire's soul mate but he and Zoe were in love. Even Kris could see that.

She hadn't seen Zoe since that day when everything happened. When Kris took off early from work. Kris had went back to the diner to check on everyone but nobody was there. Claire went off to school somewhere up North so Kris wasn't sure where she was that day. She missed them both deeply and hoped they were okay. They were both smart so Kris hoped they both survived. She knew it was a long shot but she really hoped she would find out if they were alive one day.

Being caught up in her own thoughts, Kris never realized somebody was watching her from the darkness. Even if she wouldn't have been thinking she wouldn't have heard their steps anyways.

Kris sighed stretching her arms over her head. She flinched as her ribs protested the action.

"Damn men." Kris groaned placing her hand on her side. She really wanted a bath. The dry blood under her nails were driving her crazy. So was the dirt on her arms. Even after the world when to hell, Kris wouldn't pass up a good bath. She would kill for a good hot bath or shower. She knew it was close to impossible to be able to get one. But hey a person could dream.

A leave crunching under pressure caused her to stop her movement completely. Her eyes cut to the direction it came from. Being on high alert, she waited to hear it again. When it didn't, she knew it wasn't a walker. It wouldn't have stopped knowing it was heard. So it only left it to be a living person.

"You know I heard you." She snapped placing her hand on her hip. She waved her hand towards herself rolling her eyes. "How 'bout you show yourself?"

She jumped back when a walker was thrown to her feet. She looked down at the dead thing seeing the arrow sticking out the back of it's head. Glaring she looked up knowing who had thrown the walker towards her. Sure enough stepping out from between the two trees was Daryl Dixon. His cross bow was thrown over his shoulder casually. She kneeled down never taking her eyes from his. Her thin fingers wrapped around the arrow before she yanked it out.

"You know it isn't polite to spy or throw a walker at somebody." She teased standing to her feet. She held out his arrow tilting her head slightly. His eyes flickered to her bruise cheek before narrowing and turning to met her eyes.

"Ain't nobody spyin' on you. Nd' if it wasn't for me your ass would have gotten eaten." He snorted before snatching the arrow from her hand. He watched her roll her eyes before she started in the direction she was headed earlier. Putting the arrow back, he started walking after her.

"What you still spyin' on me or something?" Kris threw over her shoulder as she continued to what ever the hell she going. She heard him snort making her roll her eyes. She looked over her shoulder at him. "If you're going to follow with me the least you could do if have a descent conversation with me."

"I ain't followin' you." He resorted watching the small smirk appear on her lips. She turned back forward watching where she was going.

"Fine well have you seen a pond or something near by?" She asked.

"Couple minutes ahead." He answered nodding in the direction though she couldn't see him. She bent down picking something up from the grass before she continued to walk. Her sped started slowly down until she was talking right next to him. Giving him a perfect view of what she had in her hand. A dandelion.

"This is my favorite flower. I know some people say it's a weed but that's why I like it so much. Not many people can see how beautiful it is. They only see that it's a problem. Never really giving it a chance to prove it's not just a weed, but a flower." He watched her from the corner of her eye as she closed her eyes and blew the flower. The small white pieces broke apart flying away in separate directions. She smiled as a piece landed on her nose. "Plus their aren't many flowers that grant you wishes." She dropped the stem before blowing the piece from her nose. She raised her eyebrow looking at him from the corner of her eye. "What do you see it as? A weed or a flower?"

He didn't answer her instead just shrugged at the question. She looked back forward sighing. She didn't expect him to answer the question anyway.

When she was talking about the flower she had been referring to herself. Some people saw her as a problem, but others didn't. She felt like a dandelion. Not truly knowing if she was flower or a weed. Something beautiful or something that was a problem that needed to just go away. She pushed the thought from her mind not wanting to think about those things. She didn't realize Daryl had asked her something until he waved a hand in front of his face.

"Damn girl, are ya even listenin'?" He asked cutting his eyes at her. She shook her head clearing her thoughts.

"Sorry I was thinking about something. What did you say?" She asked sheepishly smiling and cocking her head to the side. He turned away from her looking a head.

"Why ya out here lookin' for a pond?" He asked shifting the crossbow on his shoulder.

She shrugged holding her arms out in front of her. "I wanna wash some of this filth from my skin, didn't want to waste our good water." He nodded ending the conversation once again. She blew out some air looking up at the sky. "Ain't you going to ask me what happened to my face?"

"Not really any of my business." Daryl answered from her side. She playfully gasped looking at him.

"Are you sayin' you are the only one here who doesn't get in somebody's business?" She crossed her arms trying to be serious. "Damn it guess I'll have to find somebody else to bother." She shrugged dropping her arms to her sides. She almost laughed at the way the corner of his mouth twitched. She leaned forward looking at his face. "Do you got some kind of disease where you can't smile or something?" He gave her an annoyed look causing her to roll her eyes. "I'm take that as a yes"

"I heard your fight with Lori." Daryl told her before redirecting her in the direction of the trees. She followed in the direction he pointed stepping over a root.

"Which one?" She snorted over her shoulder at him.

"Earlier." Daryl said following behind her. She shrugged not looking over her shoulder at him, having already learned her lesson last time.

"You mean when she told me I was pretty much dumb for fighting of those men?" She asked watching where she walked in the trees.

"Yeah" Daryl answered behind her. Kris shrugged kicking a rock with the toe of her boot.

"What about it?" She watched the rock disappear into the bushes she was aiming for.

"Nothin' I was just sayin' I already knew what happened to ya" Daryl said from behind her. She cocked her eyebrow stopping and looking over at him.

"Do you agree with her or somethin'?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest.

"Nah" He shook his head continuing on his way. He walked past her her eyes watching him. She softly smiled at herself before going after him. Wow two people who agreed with her on one day. That had to be a record. She could get to used to this.

Lori stepped out of the house onto the porch looking around for her husband. She spotted him leaning over the hood of a truck. He was looking over something spreaded out in front of him. He had been stressing himself so much over losing Carol's girl and with Carl getting shot. To make it worse, he was still trying to get Hershel to allow them to stay. She sighed walking down the stairs towards the man. He looked over his shoulder as she placed her hand on his shoulder.

"Carl's up. He's feelin' much better." She whispered giving him a squeeze.

"That's good" He sighed turning back towards the map. She walked around leaning against the side looking at her husband.

"I really wish you'd stop stressin' so much." She really didn't want him to over do himself. She knew there was a lot to do but he didn't have to do it all at once. He shrugged it off pushing away from the hood and straightening his body.

"You talk to Kris yet since your argument?" Rick asked keeping his eyes on the map. She narrowed her eyes slightly.

"No she wasn't in her tent." Lori told him.

"She must have went off with one of the members. Feelin' bad about what you said." Rick shrugged only making Lori narrow her eyes slightly.

"Are you sayin' I was in the wrong?" She asked pushing away from the truck and crossing her arms over her chest. Rick sighed knowing what was coming next.

"All I'm sayin' is she came back alive because she fought off those men by herself, Lori. If she would have waited for Shane something could have happened" He looked at her feeling the anger radiating off of her. Leave it to her husband to take her sister's side. He was always helping her and she hated it. Even before the outbreak, Rick was always cleaning up Kris's mess with the police. He got her off on everything, never made her learn her lesson.

"You sound just like her. How am I the bad guy for wanting my sister to be safe?" Lori yelled angrily.

"Nobody is sayin that. All we are tryin' to say is she survived with out us, remember?" He explained.

"Yeah and when we found her she had a busted lip." Lori snarled at her husband.

"She's Kris. She is always gettin' into fights." Rick reminded her before turning back to the map. He traced something with his finger ending the argument for the moment. Something else caught his attention. "Hey she tell you what happened to her the other day?" Lori snapped her attention to him biting her lower lip.

"She ran into the screen door." She answered shifting on her feet.

"You believe her?" He asked.

"Of course. " She demanded something catching her eye in the field. She rolled her eyes at the sight of her sister laughing along the side of the hunter. "Great" She huffed causing Rick to look at her before following her eyes to the field. Kris was laughing throwing her arms around. Like she did when she was telling a story. Kris had a big thing about using her hands when she tried telling a story. "I should have known he would be first person she scope out."

"Who? Daryl?" Rick asked still watching Kris walk towards them.

"Yeah. He has Kris's type written all over him." Lori snorted walking around her husband towards the direction her sister was coming.

"Lori." Rick warned watching the woman walk away. He sighed before following. This wasn't going to be good. The two splitted up as Lori approached her them. Him going around the brunette towards the camp as Kris stopped in her tracks.

"Where've you been?" Lori snapped. Kris sighed running her fingers through her hair.

"I went to the pond to wash some of the blood and dirt from my arms." Kris shrugged showing Lori her freshly cleaned arms.

"What were you doing with Daryl?" Lori asked causing Kris to narrow her eyes slightly.

"He showed me to the pond why? What's wrong with it?" Kris asked her eyes flickering to Rick before returning to her sister.

"I should have known he'd be the first person you'd hook you claws into." Lori sighed. Kris took a step forward causing Rick placed his shoulder behind the women.

"What the hell is that suppose to mean?" Kris asked looking over Rick's shoulder at her sister.

"You know what it means. Even after the outbreak you still haven't changed your taste in men." Kris bit her tongue wanting nothing more to call her on her shit. Yeah but Lori has.

"First of all, Daryl isn't like the other guys I've dated, second of all he's my friend." Kris snapped crossing her arms over her chest.

"Let's not start another argument." Rick sighed causing Lori to turn to look at the back of his head before turning back to her sister.

"Fine do what ever you want I'm done tryin' to look after you." Lori snapped before turning on her heel and walking off. Rick looked over his shoulder watching her leave.

"I don't need you babysitting me Lori!" Kris yelled looking over his shoulder at the retreating woman. She let out a huff turning to look off over the field. She looked at Rick from the corner of her eye. He was still watching Lori. Using the tip of her boot she kicked the dirt under her foot. "He really isn't like them." He turned his attention to her.

"I believe you." She turned back towards him cocking her eyebrow.

"You do?" She asked a little confused. He gave her a little shrug.

"Yeah you aren't a liar. You've never lied about them being different before, you've always made them out to be what the truly were." Rick shrugged as Kris's lips turned into a small smile.

"Well thanks." She smiled before looking back at the house. "How's Carl?"

"He's doing good. I'd tell you to go see him but.." He trailed off rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.

"Lori probably went that direction." She finished before letting out a sigh. She turned back towards him clapping her hands together. "So what are you doing?"

"Nothin' really." He shrugged both of them starting to walk in the direction of the camp. "How you feelin?" Kris shrugged placing her bandaged hand over her hip.

"Sore as hell. But you know me, I'll manage." She smirked looking at him from the corner of her eye. He nodded before a small smile appeared on his lips.

"How big were they on a scale from Brian to Tony?" Rick asked causing her to laugh a little. Leave it to him to use a scale of her exes. Brian was the smallest of her boyfriends. He stood about 5'7 and a had a lean figure. Tony was the biggest of them. He was about 6'2 and mostly muscular.

"Okay so one was about two Brians, I took him out with a bottle. The second was about two and half Brians, pool ball." She laughed moving her hands out like she was hitting somebody. "And the last was about the size of Tony but a little smaller, it took a couple hits to get him down. At first I threw a pool ball at him which started it. He was the one who landed the mark on my face and stabbed me." She explained moving her hands in the motions as she talked. She quirked an eyebrow showing her a smirk. "Bet you can't guess what he used for the mark on my face?"

It was a sort of a sick game they played together. Since he was a cop Kris loved to see how good of skills he had. If something left a mark, he would make him guess what it was she was hit with or if they used anything at all. He stopped making her turn to him. She moved her head side to side so he could get a good look at her face.

"You were in a bar right?" He asked taking the details of her face. She nodded her turning the bruise cheek towards him. "Pool stick."

"Damn." She joked shaking her head. They turned back to start walking again. "You always guess it I don't know why I bother." He shrugged at her causing her to playfully roll her eyes.

"You want to help me map out the area?" He asked as they arrived back to the hood of the truck.

"Sure really don't have anything better to do." Kris shrugged pulling herself up on the hood. She crossed her legs Indian style sitting down on the other side of the map against the front window. Rick stood in front of the truck across from her. She leaned forward placing her chin in her hand and placed her elbow on her knee. "Do you think y'all find her?"

"I'm not sure. I hope we do." She nodded before sitting back to look around the farm again. Leaning her head back, she closed eyes letting the sun warm her skin. She looked down to see Rick was looking up at her. Her eyebrows creased together on her forehead.

"What?" She asked reaching up and touching her bruised cheek.

"Where were you when everything happened?" He asked moving off his elbows to stand. "Lori said you weren't at the diner but you usually work on Wednesdays."

The question took by surprise. Why would be want to know something like that? She bit her lip looking down at her legs. She simply shrugged her shoulders swallowing the lump her throat. "I took off early that day."

"You didn't go home?" He asked her causing her inwardly groan. She looked up at him with a reassuring smile.

"No I just hung around town for a while. Had some errands to run and stuff." She explained casually. "Then everything happened and I tried to get home but everyone was already gone."

He nodded taking her answer then turned back to the map. "What were you Daryl talking about a minute ago?"

"Oh, I was just telling me an old memory." She shrugged finding it weird that he would want to know that. "When I talked Claire into breaking into the school so we could go swimming."

"I knew that was you." Rick mumbled.

"How could you not? I asked you to borrow your cutters to cut the lock on the gym. What'd you think I needed them for?" She asked with a smirk on her lips. She always wondered why he never asked her about it. She figured he knew she did it not that he didn't know.

"Hell I don't know. Cut brakes?" He smirked back at her. She rolled her eyes trying to not laugh.

"What you two kids talking about?" Kris nearly jumped when Shane appeared out of nowhere. He was standing to her left at the truck. She shook her head clearing her thoughts.

"Um, nothin'. I'm going to go. I was going to ask Carol to fix the hole in my shirt and I need to find her." Kris explained moving off the truck away from Shane. She really didn't need him adding this to 'I'll tell Lori about' list. She landed on the ground turning around towards them. She waved them bye before heading towards the house. She remembered Glenn saying something about Carol being inside.

She looked over her shoulder seeing both men were now looking over the map together. Blowing the air from her lungs she crossed her arms deciding to head back to her tent instead of going inside. She could use a nap.
