Chapter 13

Love & Anger

Alice POV

The drive was quiet, two quiet in fact. It made me feel on edge to what I might have gotten myself into. Tala seemed calm, but yet iv never known him any different. Even when telling me everything for the first time in that cafe, he did it with such ease; like it was nothing.

After a 20 minute drive I could just make out a large tower building coming into view. The light from the moon shined off the white snow, making the building stand out even more. I'd heard so many stories about this place but never actually imagined it was all true; possible worse.

As we pulled up to the gate, Tala pressed a button for the gates to open. It had skips and construction machinery all over the wide front yard. The outside still looked old and worn.

We came to a stop, right outside a large set of double wooden doors. Without saying a word I got out the car and placed the coat Tala gave me on. I took a good look around "So... This is where it all happened huh?"

Turing to look at Tala he gave me a slight nod "I am only showing you a few things, not it all, yes?" Alice has never heard Tala speak in threatening tone before. After giving him a quick nod Tala started walking towards the doors "ok then, let's go inside" he said.

General POV

Cassia couldn't seem to sleep, not only had that phone call freaked her out but

Kai had not yet come back to bed.

Putting a long t-shirt on she went down stairs to grab a drink and to find some paracetamol for the headache.

Before she reached the kitchen everything seemed so quiet, still. No Alice, no Tala and no Kai. She was sure he would have been in his office, but it was locked when she tried to open it. After a few nocks and shouting his name she gave up and walked towards the kitchen.

After going through most of the cupboards she gave up on the paracetamol and just took a glass of water through to the living room.

The living room had cream carpets with a huge brown corner sofa in the middle of the room facing the fireplace, where a 55inch TV hung above it. The room had a huge open glass window looking out onto a patio and the back garden.

Cassia walked across to the window. Placing her glass of water on a side table, she gazed though the window taking in the beautiful night sky. It was a clear night with only the stars and a full moon, that brightened up the cold winter nights of Moscow.

Taking a few deep breathes, Cassia couldn't help but think back on everything that has happened since coming back to Russia. Her modelling career is at its peak of greatness, meeting and joining up with Kai and Tala in the business, going back to her childhood home along with having to accept her past and tell the world about it. Then there is Kai, Cassia couldn't help but sigh at the thought of him. Everything they went through in the past and now here she was, dressed in one of his shirts, in his childhood home, knowing that from tonight her life was about to changed.

Cassia closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around her body , always knowing that one day Kai would come back into her life and know matter how much she tried to deny her feelings for him, they would always be there. Today was that day, the day when he became that drug she tried so hard to forget, but still knowing how addictive and ruthless he is in every way.

Cassia stood in the same spot for a few minutes in thought, only to be disturbed by a pair of muscular arm being wrapped around her waist, a broad chest being pushed against her back and a hot breathe by her ear. "You should be in bed" Kai said in a dominating tone, before kissed her neck.

A slight smirk appeared on Cassia lips, while moving her head slightly to the side, giving Kai easier access "I'm not tired, and I have a headache"

"Your not tired because your thinking two much. Whats wrong Anna?" Cassia tired to think of an answer, but without wanting to shout out her feelings it seemed hard.

"I don't quite know. I guess I feel a little overwhelmed maybe" Kai turned Cassia around, he wanted to look into her eyes. They always gave her away especially to him. "With me?" he said while wrapping his arms back around her waist.

"With everything I guess. My modelling, the company, you and Tala, even Alice. Since coming here, everything has changed. Especially this" Cassia looked away as she said them last two words.

Kai knew she meant him. Noticing the worry in her voice, he took his hand from her waist and pulled her face back to look at him "What are you worried about? Your modelling is about the take off bigger than it has ever been, me and Tala will be watching the company and as for Alice, she is a big girl and can look after herself. But 'this'... " He gave her a soft kiss on the lips "What I said in the pool, I meant every word Anna. You chose this path, no one made you"

"What about Pixie?" Kai gave her a slight frown. "What about her? Iv told you already, I don't want her. Your my Anna, no one else can take your place" She gave him a slight nod, knowing full well the change can ether go two ways. Good or bad.

*Scene Change*

Alice was stood in the main lobby, once where kids would sign there life away. Now a reception room to give people bigger opportunities in life. Everything was brand new, you could smell the new paint and furniture.

"It's a little different from when I lived here" Tala said, while watching Alice take it all in.

"I can't imagine what it must have looked like. Iv only seen one room and I'm impressed" she gave him a big smile. "Do you still hate this place Tala?" She walked across to where he was standing. "Like... Does it still remind you of bad times?"

"Not the whole place no, but some of the individual rooms, yes. Strangely I do have some good memories in this place. Not many, but some" Tala said with a serious tone.

Alice watched Tala as he went into his own thoughts. One seconds we was smiling then the next, his face turned hard. She didn't say anything, just walked towards him and placed a hand on his arm. He quickly turned towards her, capturing her gaze. He quickly shoved her hands off his arm and started walking towards a door.

"Are you coming or what?" Tala said in the same threatening tone as he did outside.

Alice POV

After walking around the new sleeping quarters, library and part of the training facilities, we ended up in the dining hall. It looked just like a school cafeteria, with tables and chairs all placed around the room.

Tala had hardly said two words to me the whole walk round. If I asked any questions he would just grunt or nod. It feels like every room we went into he tensed up more and became more annoyed with each question I asked. I wanted to see more of this place, each room still had little bits of its horrific history. No matter how much paint and re-modelling, it was hard to forget what actually used to happen here.

Taking a good look round I noticing a vending machine across the hall. It looked fully stocked with all different kinds of crips, chocolate and dried fruits and nuts. Walking across, my mouth started to water at all the sweet treats available "Tala do you have some change? I want to try this Al..en..ka chocolate" Turning around, Tala was steering at me with a blank expression. "Whats wrong?" I asked. He slowly walked towards me, pulling some change out his pockets and placing it into the vending machine.

"Here" he said while handing me the chocolate. I didn't have time to say thank you as he started walking towards the door. "Hey? wait up" He just ignored me "Tala, whats wrong?" I shouted louder, before running after him.

I followed him back into the main lobby, where he had unlocked and opened the main entrance. "Are we done with the tour? Theres so much more to see isn't there?"

Tala slammed the door shut with excessive force. He turned and walked back towards me "Have you not seen enough? I told you it would only be a quick one, what is that not good enough for Miss Princess Heart?" He shouted so loud, it made me jump and take a step back.

"What? No... I was just asking. Tala I didn't mean to offended you, I just..." He grabbed both of my arms and shoved me against a solid wall. I felt the back of my head slam against the wall and his grip so tight I couldn't move my arms "Ow Tala STOP, your hurting me"

"You think its interested what went off behind these wall? Well let me tell you something, you will never be able to imagine or understand and if you even came close to, the reality of it was a thousand times worse" not only was Tala's tone aggressive, but his blue eyes had a slight tint of black.

I couldn't say anything back because I knew it was true. I will never understand what did happen in this place, or to him but I can try to.

Turned my head away from him, I could feel my eyes started to fill with tears. I didn't know if it was because of how Tala had reacted or to the fact my head had just been slammed against a concrete wall.

Tala's grip loosened on my arms but he grabbed my chin and turned me back to look at him. His eyes had gone back to the soft Blue colour, his face looked more relaxed and calm.

As my body relaxed, the tears came from my eyes and rolled down my cheeks. I wanted to burst into a full blown cry and hug him so tight, that maybe memories will disappear.

Tala whipped each tear from my cheek, never letting me lose his eye contact. "Are you ready to leave Alice?" He whispered. All I could do was nod, and follow him out towards the car.

End of Alice Pov

*Scene Change*

He watched the Abby from afar, close enough to see but not to hear conversation. He used the trees to camouflage himself from wondering eyes. The snow caused his legs and feet to numb, to the point of pain.

As he watched the two exit and go towards the car, he stared at the girl. She was not the usual standard female that Tala drags around with him. He tried to get a better look at her, she had familiar features to the Heart girls; Alicia Heart.

A smile crept up on his face " Well Tala, looks like you and Kai have everything figured out. Its a shame you missed my calls, it could have prevented this from happening but looks like its two late now" he said to himself.

As the car pulled away he moved back into the shadows of the forest with only a grin upon his face.

*Scene Change*

Tala's hands gripped firmly on the steering wheel, trying to pay full attention to the icy roads in front of him. No conversation were made between ether of them since leaving the Abby. Alice had her feet on the seat while her knees where placed firmly at her chest with her hands wrapped around them. Her head laid against the window, trying to avoid Tala from seeing her tears that wouldn't stop streaming down her face.

Tala knew the way he reacted was wrong, something just boiled up inside him. Why did she want to know about all the bad stuff? Why couldn't she accept who they were now and not back then?. He had never met a girl like Alice, She confused him no end which made it even more frustrating for him to understand her reasons for being here with him.

He looked across to her, she hadn't moved from that position since he started to drive back. He could see the tears through the reflexion, her eyes slightly starting to go red and puffy. " Did I hurt you?" He tried to keep his tone soft.

Alice didn't move, just smiled and thought about lying for a second only to be reminded by the splitting headache "Only my head, but its fine".

"Alice, I am really sorry, I don't know what happened. I just needed to leave and you didn't want to, I didn't mean to hurt you" His words shown his pain, the regret of not thinking before he reacted. Thats what his father always did, get angry and hurt people.

Alice didn't move, just a few more tears spilled out of her eyes. "Dam it Alice please stop crying. We wont make it back at this rate, I can't watch you cry" He seemed aggressive but Alice new he didn't know how to deal with emotion like this, it was unnatural to him.

"Can I ask you a question, Tala?" Alice turned for the first time and looked across to Tala. He Nodded, even though he didn't want to answer any question she threw at him but from the way he reacted before and how upset she was, he knew he didn't have a choice.

"Do you miss your dad?"

"What?" Of all the questions she could have asked he didn't expect that one. "What does that have to do with anything?" Alice could tell he was confused. "Its a simple question Tala. Do you miss him, yes or no?"

"I..." He couldn't seem to speak, no one had ever asked him that before "I... guess I do sometimes and other times no"

"From what iv been told, he was just as much to blame for everything Biovolt did to the world. Maybe it's a good thing he's dead" Alice wanted to see some sort of emotion, Tala had grown cold and distant since leaving the house.

"He knew his wrong doings, it was just to late for them to be amended, so yes it is a good thing he is. Maybe people will leave the old memories behind and remember new ones from the Abby now" Tala kept a calm tone, there was no point in getting mad, everything she stated was a true fact.

Alice just steered at Tala, his face had relaxed along with his body posture. He sat back into his seat looking out onto the icy roads. "There is one benefit to that place" she said.

"And what's that's?" Tala replied, looking across to her. "It's moulded you into this strong, kind and handsome businessman you are today. Don't let him or the Abby get under your skin, your not him, your better than he was" Alice leaned her head back against her window, steering out into the snow.

Tala was stunned by her words, even though he had grabbed her and hurt her earlier, she still believed he was all them things "How do you know I am better than all that?"

Alice didn't moved her head, she just struggled her shoulders and replied in a whisper "I just do".

No other words got said the rest of the drive back. Her words lingered in Tala's head, why did she bother him so much? This girl confused him more than any other female ever has.

*scene change*

Both Kai and Cassia lay entwined with each other across the large sofa, with a blanket covering them. Cassia laid her head upon Kai's chest, hearing every heart beat. The horrible feeling she had earlier that night had disappeared along with her headache. Even in the Abby years ago, Kai always made the bad feeling go away, even if it was only for a short time. Her eyes started to draw closed as she felt him play with bits of her hair.

Kai could feel her chest rising and falling in slow movements, he played with strands of her hair knowing this used to always relaxed her. It was 3am and sleep felt like it had come and gone, if he tried to sleep now his body would just rebel and frustrate him. Normally when he felt like this work was his main priority, but now he had Cassia laid in his arms keeping him warm. For the slightest moment he forgot about the phone call and what he needs to do about it.

Two much in his own thoughts Kai didn't even hear Tala and Alice arrive back until the front door opened. He had his arm wrapped around Alice's waist, like he was protecting her from something. She had red swollen eyes, like she had been crying. Tala pulled her into a hug and whispered something, she just agreed and walked up stairs.

Tala didn't notice Kai and Cassia laid out in the living room. He just stood with his own thoughts for a few minutes, until a slight rage came over, and punched the wall next to font door.

Cassia jumped slightly from the sudden bang but fell straight back asleep. Kai noticed the frustration in Tala and decided now might be the time to talk. Moving out from under Cassia he replaced himself with a pillow.

Tala Pov

I could't help but wrap my arms around her, hold her to show her I'm sorry. Watching her cry silent tears the whole way home because of me, it was two much.

She didnt hug back, as such. She placed her hands over my biceps, as I cradled her head and placed it onto my chest. "I am really sorry Alice" it was no more but a whisper, but i knew she heard me. Her grip became firmer and slightly less distance. Alice just smiled with forgiveness and headed upstairs.

I watched her walk along the stair case and didn't move till I was sure she was in a room and the door was closed.

Why? Why did I do that? "URGH". I needed to punch something, anything. Before I knew it I'd put my fist into the wall, and slammed my head against it as well. I hadn't been this angry at myself for a long time.

"Tala" that was Kai. I didn't turn around, just removed myself off the wall. "We need to talk"

"Not now Kai, I'm not in the mood to have a lecture" I turned and started walking towards the stairs. "Tala, its important" Kai said firmly, I knew I wouldn't have a choice.

As I came back down the stairs I noticed Cassia laid across the soft, she was in a peaceful state. "She got you to come round then?" I said, with a smirk.

"Hn" Kai just looked away and started walking down to the games room. It made me smile how Cassia has always been able to turn Kai from a lion into a kitten, and most of the time she doesn't even realise it.

Once down stairs, Kai poured us both a whisky and sat down. "What so important Kai?"

"You left your phone here" I was a little confused at what Kai was getting at. "Whats your point?" Kai threw me my phone across, the screen was all cracked. "So because I didn't take it you decided to break my phone?"

"It rang while you was out and Cassia answered it. A call she should never have answered Tala" Kai voice went from soft to stern. I knew then who he was talking about.

"What did he say? I take it he didn't revel himself?" I sat down across from Kai and took back the whisky.

"No, shes still here. I had to tell her not to mention that she answered your phone and I'd deal with it"

"Has he rang back? Shit Kai" I placed my head into my hands.

"I rang him back, told him to stay away from her. If he goes anywhere near her I will kill him" I just nodded at Kai. "You need to ring him and see what he wants, make a deal with him anything. As long as he keeps away from Cassia, it will destroy her if he turned up. Im relying on you Tala" Kai didn't have anything to say. He got up and walked towards the exit. Before he opened the door we both heard something or someone on the other side.

End of Tala POV

General POV

Once Tala was stood behind Kai, he opened the door. Alice was stood with an inocent face, trying to disguise what she might have heard.

"Alice, what are you doing? Tala said.

"I left my bag down here, I'm sorry didnt relaise you guys where in here" Tala turned to find Alice bag next to the large sofa on the floor. Kai gave her room to enter and grab her bag.

While she collected her stuff Kai closed the door behind him and stood to block it. Alice noticed what Kai had done, she couldnt aviod telling them, she heard basicly everything.

"Alice, what did you hear?" Kai said trying to keep his tone soft.

"You don't have to block me in Kai. I knew from the beginging there was more to you two than just this little company" Alice had to think smart, with both of them at her she knew it wont be easy.

"This is not a game Alice" Tala said, while grabbing another whisky from the bar.

"Could have fooled me. Whats so important that you dont want Cassia to find out?"

"That is non of your concern" Kai stated, still blocking the door.

"See thats where your wrong, as her manger I need to know all aspect of her life. Protecting her is my main job. And from the sounds of it you guys are breaking contacts. Keeping secrets is not aloud, this is her comapny aswel" Alice tried to go in with the business head.

"ALICE, you don't get it do you" Tala screamed, while slamming his glass down on the bar. Alice had already seen Tala this way earlier, she tried not to show her fear.

"If the wrong people get to Cassia, thats it everything is over. Do you understand what im saying? If we let these people come back into her life, shes gone again" Tala said more than he should have but Alice understood, it sent chills all down her spine.

"There still alive, arnt they?" Alice said looking back and forth to ether of them. Both just stood quitet not answering. "Well... they are arnt they ?And you guys have been protecting them, havnt you?" They still gave no reaction. Alice walked over to Tala and knocked the Whisky out of his hand "Look at me and TELL ME" she creamed.

Tala didnt have a choice, he glanced over at Kai to see him nob slightly. "Yes" it was no than a whisper.

Before Tala could look at Alice she slapped him round the face "YOU LIED TO ME. I TRUSTED BOTH OF YOU" She was about to hit him again but Tala caught her hand with his own. "Alice stop it, you don't understand"

"You are not only putting Cass's life in danger but mine aswel, those men are dangerious. How supid are you both" Alice wanted an explination.

"If I knew youd understand i'd tell you but you wont so there is no point" Kai spoke finally and walked over to Alice "I would never do anything to hurt Cass, we are doing this for protection. If she finds out her whole life will fall apart, please Alice don't tell her"

"Have you both forgotten that they raped her. YOUR FATHER SET UP FOR YOUR SISTER TO BE RAPED" Alice glanced back at Tala, his face was full of sadness "Alice, we know what where doing, trust us" Alice had never seen ether of them pleade before. It made her feel sick, she didnt know what to do, the whole world was at stake not just her and Cass.

"Do you not realise those men are walking the streets, where children play and women shop. Whats to say they wont hurt someone?"

"They wont Alice, we keep a close eye on them. If they go anywhere near anybody they shouldn't, a gun is waiting for them" Kai tried keeping a calm tone. "Cassia means everyhting to me Alice, im not about to lose her again because of them"

Alice felt tears in her eyes, how can she believe anything they say. Tala let go on her hands and rubbed the tear off her cheek "Alice I wont let anything happen, I promis"

She couldnt believe was she was about to say but what other option did she have?. Walking away from Tala, she picked up her things off the floor again and walked over to the door. Before openeing it she turned slightly, seeing both worry in there eyes. "You better keep for your promis, I want to know every new detail about them. Do you understand?" Both boys nodded in agreement " Oh and Tala... What ever was going on with us, its over with" with that she walked out the room and back upstairs.

Betrail and pain was all she felt. Once upsairs she saw Cassia laid out across the sofa, she wanted to leave the house now. Walking across to Cass, Alice started to cry again. For a second she thought about leaving her there and just going back to the hotel on her own, but she knew tomorrow was a busy day.

"Cass. Cass, wake up" Alice shook Cassia shoulders slight, trying to wake her up. After a few more pushed Cassia woke "Alice, what time is it?"

"I don't know, can we go please?" Alice tried hiding her crys with a smile.

"Alice your crying, whats wrong?" Cassia concer was instanbtly there, she hadf hold of Alices hands.

Alice just shook her head "I don't want to talk about it, can we just go please?"

"Sure just let me find Kai to tell him"

"NO, Cass please I need to leave" Casia noticed the pleading not only in her voice but in her eyes. She just nodded and got up from the sofa.

Within seconds Alice grabbed the keys and started up the Porsche . Cassia just followed her out the door without another word said.

Both Kai and Tala came upstairs when they heard the door slam and a car start. "This is your fault" Tala said facing Kai. "If you just let me go to bed, she would never have found out" Anger was all over Tala.

"Tala you need to keep her sweet, Il deal with the other prob..." Tala cut Kai off. "NO KAI. Im sick to death of you thinking you know better, we are dealing with this together" with that Tala stormed off up stairs.

Kai looked over to where Cassia was sleeping before he left her to speak to Tala. Regret was all he felt, why did he leave her? laying back down on the sofa, it was still warm and smelt of Cass, but it didn't satisfy him enough. He wanted to hold her close to him, tell her she was his and nothing else matters.
