Tara's Thought's
"Talking"
Memory
Someone else's Thoughts
Re-cap
"Are you suggesting I could fall victim to such paltry magic?" Beneath him feet, ice began to form before it suddenly shot out freezing a massive ice circle around both Lyon and Natsu. He truly did intend to fight Natsu alone, "Leave me, I can take care of this myself..."
Natsu climbed up back through the hole, now focused back on the fight instead of the mysterious magic from before as his eyes also narrowed.
Lyon's expression darkened a little more with his next words, "Once I finally defeat the demon, everyone will worship my name. Cold Emperor Lyon. I've worked to hard to let a brat like him tarnish it."
"So you want to try and defeat Deliora?" Natsu questions. Tara had nearly forgotten that Natsu hadn't been at the top of that hill when Gray and Lyon had fought about their past together, along with Lyon's reason for doing what he was doing. Tara couldn't help but wonder if Gray had told anyone about his past for that matter...
"Are you kidding me? That thing looks half dead already!" Natsu remarks annoyed and interrupting Tara's thoughts, "So let me get this straight, your going through all this trouble just so you can fight it? That's pretty messed if you ask me."
Both Lyon and Natsu faced off against each other, "I must rise about Ur's legacy. I will not rest until I have fulfilled my dream!" Lyon yells at him while attacking with his ice created eagles.
Natsu dodges easily by jumping backwards a few times before suddenly launching himself forward again, "Why go this far? Can't you just challenge her and be done with it?"
"Well I would if I could but Ur has been dead for years!" That was one of Lyon's touchy subjects.
Natsu remembered something suddenly before muttering to himself, "I didn't realize she died when she sealed that thing..."
"That wouldn't be the case if it wasn't for Gray!" Lyon yells as his anger and grief rises. He uses the already made ice ring as an advantage for a secret sneak attack from behind Natsu.
He how ever was able to block with both arms and his heat, as he melted the ice a mist formed around his body, "Look, I don't know what happened to you in the past but I do know what your doing in the present and it's hurting a lot of innocent people!" Natsu said back to Lyon standing his ground.
His words were noble, kind, honest and caring but that was what Tara expected from the famous Salamander; How ever Lyon was unfazed, "And since you don't seem to realize this yourself... I'll have to knock some sense into you!" Natsu informed his opponent as his fist became engulfed in flames.
Tara closed her eyes and took a deep breath, outside the temple she could feel not only Gray's presence but that Lucy, Happy and now Erza. There was a tremendous amount of sadness around Gray but there was something more, a feeling Tara couldn't quite place and it made her uneasy. The sinking feeling in her gut grew as Tara made a choice... She decided to believe in Grays words and trust that Natsu could handle the fight against Lyon on his own... It made her ashamed of herself... But I have to figure out what's going on before it's too late to solve this problem... If you ever learn of this... Please forgive me Natsu... With those thoughts, Tara took the opportunity to sneak away from their fight undetected as she felt Grays presence grow closer to her own...
Tara was good at hiding her feelings from the world but this was new for her, to trust in someone else as she continues down the maze of a temple. She felt like she was being pulled towards Gray as different memories continued to flash through her mind, Ur's sorrow, regret and love for the those in her life were as strong as her magic. That's the only reason it could have such a large affect on me. No matter what... I can't let Gray feel this guilt... it wasn't his fault! She finally reached the point that Gray would have to come across her path as Tara finally got the images in her mind to subside. As his presence grew stronger so did so did Tara's determination. She couldn't understand why she felt this way but she knew she couldn't let him suffer like this.
His image slowly came into her view as he also started to see her as well, "Tara?"
"Stop Gray." Her tone was flat but held a firm command.
He didn't stop running almost as though he didn't hear her but she knew he had so she didn't hesitate on her next actions. *Water Dragon Pounding Fist* A powerful ball of water knocked Gray right off his feet and sent backwards.
"What are you doing Tara?" He demanded of her angrily but his expression changed once he noticed the look on her face. She had always been good at hiding her feelings but this time he could see the worry and sadness in her eyes, something about her look knocked the wind out of him more than her attack had.
She took an offensive stance, "Do you hold guilt about her death?" She demanded from him.
"How do you-?" He started but she interrupted him.
*Water Dragon Wing attack*
Gray managed to dodge this attack of high speed spiraling water that came from around her arms, "Answer me!"
"YES!" Gray yelled back at her as he hangs his head using his bangs to cover his eyes, "If I hadn't gone... If I had of listened to her.. then she'd still be... she'd..."
*Water Dragon Wing Attack*
Spirals of deadly water formed around her arms and attacked Gray by surprise on each side, the attack wasn't enough to do any real damage just gain his attention. Gray yelled out but still managed to stabilize himself back on his feet and stared at her about to demand what her problem was but when his eyes connected with her own he lost his words. Her eyes seemed to sad, almost heart broken...
Why is she doing this? Why Tara? What is it your trying to tell me? Gray's mind swam with a huge amount of questions yet he couldn't bring himself to ask her directly. It almost felt like she was still holding some things back from him, He had no intentions of telling anyone about what he had learned about her here, it was the first big thing she had ever trusted him with.
"Then perhaps you should listen to her final words to you now then... Let go of the darkness that's within you..." Tara whispered and a single tear fell down her cheek. Before Gray could say anything at all she disappeared right before his eyes, Ur's final words to me? What does Tara mean and how does she even know about Ur or any of this? Without taking the time to think about it Gray took the chance to charge past and straight for Lyon and Natsu. Unknown to him that Tara was still close by and still watching over them, She knew that there was still some unfinished business with her s-class quest and the temple would be the safest spot to avoid being found out by the others, she already let her secret slip but right now there were bigger concerns for her to focus on.
"You can't keep avoiding them you know?" A a sweet male voice cut into her thoughts.
Tara didn't have to look up to know who it was, "I know, I just need a little more time."
"I worry about you, Ta-chan..."
Tara looked over to her best friend hovering not far from her, "There's no need... So long as I have you Stephan..." Tara looked forward again, "Now let's finish what we came to do!"
"Yes, Mi'lady!" He grumbled sarcastically which was ignored.
"So... care to share your Master plan?" Stephan asked as he flew beside Tara, he usually didn't both asking since he could always see through her mask but this time was different...
He looked at her face which seemed to be thinking for a moment before she answered, "I've seen and felt Ur's past... Deliora is not a real threat. Not as long as Natsu is here, his slayer magic can easily over power what's left of that monster."
"H-How do you know for sure?" Stephan stopped slightly bewildered by her answer.
Tara looked at him with a rare smile, "I'm a dragon slayer too so of coarse I know his power plus I know his kind heart. Ur's magic... while in the iced shell form she slowly drained the demon of magic over the years. That's why I know he can easily defeat it... My biggest concern is Gray and Lyon."
"Why them?" They continued forward but it seem like they were going up top.
That was exactly where Tara was going, "If I can show them what I've seen, have them feel the same as I did then I just might be able to complete Ur's final wish... To rid the darkness from their hearts." He knew she was holding something back...
Stephan was going to ask more but he was starting to understand her change in character wasn't really a change, Tara had always been protective of those she cared for. Him, the guild and her friends; the only difference this time was that she was acting upon those feeling and now allowed someone to know her secret after several years of keeping it a secret.
"Come on, Erza and Lucy are heading that if I'm correct, which I usually am. We should be able to avoid them while I prep for the real reason were here..."
Stephan nodded his head, I hope you already know this Tara but I will always stay by your side... Just like you always stayed by mine. Stephan thought to himself as he grabbed the back of her shirt, carried her up to the top of the temple and kept them both out of sight.
They got to the top of the mountain just in time to Erza take out the one wizard known as Toby who had been the only to keep the moon drip spell going, It wasn't even a few seconds later that they could hear the ear splitting roar from the beast.
Stephan moved a little closer to Tara and Erza and Lucy left with their new captive likely to gain answers, "It will be alright Stephan, Trust me."
"I do trust you." He answered her without hesitation.
She nodded her head with a warm smile towards him before she went to start drawing a magic circle into the ground, "What is this Ta-chan?"
"This magic circle will help the spell I'm going to cast to break the curse on this Island." She answered as she continued her work.
Stephan was confused as he tipped his head to the side, another roar was suddenly heard causing him to jump slightly but the time he didn't cower at all. Tara finished what she was doing as she now stood in the middle of the spell. As she began to whisper to herself, Stephan could hear the ensuing battle beneath them before suddenly Natsu's magical power flowed through the air. A massive explosion then happened as Water began to pour out of the temple.
Stephan watched as some of that very drifted up wards and towards them before it started spiraling around her as she continued to chant, Stephan floated up into the air, they had been there for sometimes now and he got worried as to whether or not the others would show up there while Tara was in the middle of a spell.
He say them head towards the outskirts near the ocean, "Their close to the village now Ta-chan, I think Erza clicked in that the other's forgot about the reason they came here."
Tara of coarse didn't answer but he knew she had heard him, the air pressure around him suddenly dropped and he turned to witness Tara's spell start form. A funnel of a vibrant sapphire blue tinted water was spiraling around her faster and faster as it got higher into the night sky.
*Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Sapphire Lotus Water Dragon Typhoon Tunnel*
Tara gritted her teeth as the spell went high into the sky, she wasn't actually aiming for the moon so once the tunnel reached it's destination, cracks could be seen above the Island. Stephan was stunned as Tara pushed her arms out the top of the funnel spread out in all direction completely shattering the crystallized moon drip that had formed over the villagers and whole Island. Stephan was amazed as he watched Tara sighed and turn around. He always thought she was amazing but she looked so beautiful standing there as water and crystals fell from the sky, "Told ya." She smiled before collapsing to one knee.
"Ta-chan!" He cried out and went to her.
She slowly stood and smiled, "I'll be alright how ever there is still something I have to do..."
The members of Fairy Tail were about to hear Erza's plan when A blue light coming from the Temple caught not only their attention but also the attention of the villagers. As they watched the light slowly turn into what appeared to a water funnel and shoot straight towards the moon just like Erza had planned to do.
"W-WHAT!?" Gray, Natsu, Lucy and even Happy where blown away but what they were seeing.
Lucy was horrified, "I-Is that really going to hit the moon?!"
"Destroy the moon Blue girl!" The village head man all but chanted.
Something suddenly clicked for Gray, That must be Tara! He thought to himself but he wasn't the only one who noticed something. At the same time Natsu had sniffed the air and he caught a hint of a familiar scent again, "I... I know this smell..." He mumbled.
Gray heard him but chose to ignore it as the tunnel hit something suddenly and they saw the sky cracked, "NO WAY!" They all yeled except for Erza who was amazed by what she saw.
The tunnel then went in all direction completely shattering was there, "There was a crystallized formation over top of the Island caused by the Moon drip spell."
"Is that what you were going to tell us Erza?" Lucy asked after hearing what she said.
Erza smiled fondly for some reason before nodding, "Yes." The feeling I get from this magic reminds me of her... It must be Ta-chan... Erza thought to herself but didn't say a word about the connection she had made.
How ever that's when the rest along with the villagers figured out what both Tara and Erza had... The villagers were actually demons from the very beginning...
