Chapter 5: The Rin'negan
As the trio of Ash, Misty, and Tracey rode Lapras across the water, Ash stared out across the sparkling water. He had been practicing his ninjutsu techniques and felt the drain. His chakra was now dangerously low, but he still felt weak.
All he could think of was how helpless he was when Ayumu collapsed and died. He swore he would get stronger and prevent that from happening again, but was frustrated with his progress. He couldn't even last a continuous hour practicing his non-Sharingan jutsu.
Heck, now he didn't even have enough chakra to keep the Sharingan active.
Glaring out at the water, he started performing his hand seals-although shakily, his frustration causing him to momentarily forget one of his father's lessons: do NOT drain your chakra to absolute zero!
"Snake. Ram. Monkey. Boar. Horse. Tiger! Fire release: Great Fireball Technique!"
With that, Ash inhaled and prepared to launch a large fireball out across the ocean.
When he exhaled, all he got was a small flame right before he fell unconscious and collapsed on Lapras-never hearing Misty and Tracey yell his name as Pikachu and Lapras called out in panic.

Ash's eyes snapped open to find himself in a realm coated in a thick mist. The ground he was standing on was covered in a light layer of water. A light appeared within the mist and Ash was drawn to it-inadvertently walking towards it. When he reached the source, Ash found it to be a small campfire with a person sitting in a comfortable lounge chair. Ash couldn't see who the person was, only their feet.
"I didn't expect to see you here…not for a long time." A familiar voice called and Ash's mouth hung open in disbelief as the person stood up and turned to face him.
Standing before Ash was an eight-year-old boy with black hair that fell in messy spikes and brown eyes.
"A-Ayumu?!" Ash said, blinking in disbelief. "How am I here? I was practicing with my jutsu and then I blacked out."
Ayumu scowled at him and said "You had chakra exhaustion you idiot! Father told us to NOT drain our reserves to absolute zero, and you nearly did just that!"
Ash glanced at the ground, too embarrassed to reply. Ayumu just shook his head and pushed his bangs back.
"Well, now you have a choice. You can continue your journey as you were…or you can go onto the next life with me and dad." Ayumu said, glancing at the mist.
"I can see dad again?" Ash asked and Ayumu jumped in front of him and held his arms out-blocking him.
"Oh no you don't! It may be your choice, but I don't want you moving on just like that! What about your Pokémon? What about mom?" Ayumu asked.
"Sorry. You…you're right. You were always the genius among the both of us. I was the one that always needed help learning new jutsus or genjutsus. I even screwed up a genjutsu when I first broke the seal. I meant to show dad explaining the Sharingan, and I sent a genjutsu of my friend's worst fear….bugs…Though I blame the seal for that! I was rusty!" Ash said.
Ayumu stood up and the chair and campfire vanished, and he walked into the mist. After taking a few steps and turned his head to Ash, Mangekyō Sharingan glaring at him, the fan-blade shaped markings from his pupils spinning.
"By the way" Ayumu said, "I DON'T want to see you here until it is your time!" Ash shivered, as kids Ayumu was always stronger than him-even only being a year older.
"Oh! The Old Sage wanted to see you before you wake up!" Ayumu said as he vanished.
"Old Sage?" Ash asked, as the mist started thinning and a man was show to be…floating in front of him. Below him were six black orbs floating in a circular pattern between him and the ground.
He wore a white cloak with three black Magatama designs on each side of the collar. His skin had turned grey for some reason, and he also had the six black Magatama design on his chest. He had spiked back, red hair that had greyed with age. A long goatee of the same color trailed from his chin to his chest. He had a design on his forehead that looked like a third eye that was red with three concentric circles around the "pupil" with three tomoes in each ring. On his eyebrow ridges, above each eye, was a protruding horn that curved up above his head. He held a black staff with two ends-one was circular with six rings-three on each side representing the sun and the other was an incomplete circle representing a crescent moon. His eyes-Ash could recognize anywhere.
Those purple eyes with the concentric circles around the pupil.
The ancestor to his Sharingan...
The Rin'negan!
"Could this be? The Sage of the Six Paths?" Ash asked himself.
"I haven't been called that for a while." The man answered with an aged, gravelly voice.
"You are…Ash Ketchum-Uchiha….descendant of my son Indra." The man said.
"Indra? Your elder son's name?" Ash asked.
"Indra and Asura. My two sons. One was a genius and a prodigy-becoming withdrawn. The other always needed help and matured because of it." The Sage of the Six Paths said, glancing down at Ash, "But where are my manners. Though everyone calls me the Sage of the Six Paths, I was born with the name Hagoromo Otsutsuki."
"Master Hagoromo…creator of ninjutsu…" Ash whispered, and Hagoromo's grip on his staff tightened.
"I created Ninshu! Ninshu was meant for peace! Ninjutsu is made for warfare!" Hagoromo growled out and Ash took a step back at the man's tone.
"I honestly wanted the people to use the Yin-Energy of Chakra to connect to others. Instead they connected it to their Yang-Energy and started firing increasingly lethal jutsus at each other. I failed in my teachings of peace just as I failed as a father. For being revered as a god, I couldn't prevent Indra from becoming withdrawn in his power-which lead to a feud between him and Asura which carried on through their descendants." Hagoromo said.
"Now just wait a moment! No one can see the future! You couldn't have known how they would react in the future! I'm sure you tried your best!" Ash exclaimed, causing the man to chuckle slightly.
"You, despite being Indra's descendant, are quite like Asura's descendant- a blonde Uzumaki. It's quite refreshing to see for a change-instead of all of Indra's descendants being like him." Hagoromo said, as he held up his left hand.
"I need you to remove the glove on your right hand." He added as Ash pulled it off and held up his right hand.
The two hands touched palm-to-palm and Ash felt a surge of power as his chakra instantly refilled and the power centered on his right eye.
"Before you go, I must break through a lie your father created around you two and your mother." With that Ash gulped.
"Your father died when he was 23 years old-succumbing to the illness he had at the end of battle…when you were three years old!" With that, Ash let out a sound of disbelief.
"B-but I last saw him when I was seven!" Ash exclaimed.
"A genjutsu created by him. I must say, his illusions surpass even the greatest genjutsu specialists." Hagoromo said, looked at Ash, who had dropped to his knees in shock. "However, I believe it is that he wanted to protect the two of you, preparing you both for the harsh world as the protectors of the Pokémon Lands…and you are chosen for a reason…that you will find soon enough. But for now, it is time for you to awaken."
With that, the realm around them became unbearably bright, forcing Ash to close his eyes.

"He's waking up!" Misty's voice was heard before he could open his eyes. When he did, Tracey, Misty, Pikachu, Lapras, Sylveon, Latios, Latias, and even Mewtwo recoiling in shock.
"Your right eye…." Mewtwo's tenor voice echoed from his telepathy.
"Mirror…I need a mirror…" Ash said as he pulled off his right glove, and stared at a blue crescent-moon marking on his right palm.
As Misty handed him a pocket mirror, Ash glanced at his reflection and nearly dropped the mirror in shock. While his left eye still had the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, his right pupil was now purple with a lighter colored purple covering his entire eye, with concentric circles around the pupil.
"The Rin'negan….ancestor of the Sharingan." Ash said quietly in shock, though everyone around him heard him.
"That's….the Rin'negan?!" Misty exclaimed in shock, while the Sharingan emitted a red glow that seemed almost…sinister, the Rin'negan had an other worldly purple glow…it seemed to gaze into and judge your very soul.
"It's…not as powerful as the original." Ash stated, as the knowledge he received came to his mind, "I only have one technique of the Deva and Preta Paths each. The Shinra Tensei and the Blocking Technique Absorption Seal."
"….Only…" Tracey deadpanned before shaking his head. "Anyways, we've arrived at Mikan Island, where one of the four Orange Island Gym Leaders is located."
At his words, Ash grinned in excitement, as he had the Rin'negan "deactivate" into his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, before both deactivated entirely.
Much to Misty and Tracey's annoyance, Ash kept activating and deactivating the Rin'negan in his right eye as they headed to the Pokémon Center to switch out Latios for Wartortle.

As the group approaches the gym, Ash spotted a coconut, but thanks to his Sharingan, his eyesight became naturally more "enhanced", and he spotted the thin wire attached to it. Turning his Sharingan on, he spotted a figure and a bucket attached to the string.
Casting a small Genjutsu: Sharingan to make him think Ash was still standing there as he used the Tree Climbing Exercise to use chakra to stick to the side of the tree and climb up it and grabbing the bucket and dispelling the illusion and the "Ash" the kid was seeing disappeared into a flock of crows.
Just as the kid sat up straighter, Ash dumped the bucket of water over his head before jumping down and landing on the ground.
"Gah!" The kid screamed, "How did you see through my trap?!" He yelled while climbing down the tree.
"Senta! Are you causing trouble for our challengers again?! You're supposed to be doing your homework!" A woman's voice called and the kid-Senta-turned to face an older girl with a black tank top and pink skirt who had blue eyes and auburn colored hair.
""Cissy!" The kid exclaimed in surprise.
"Sorry about that. My little brother is always causing trouble. Anyways, since you're here, you must be here for the Orange League, right?" She asked, and Ash nodded, stepping forward with his Sharingan deactivated.
"I am your opponent. I am Ash Ketchum-Uchiha, and I challenge you to a battle." Ash said, holding up his right hand in a fist with the index and middle fingers extended upwards-the Seal of Confrontation.
"We…do things a little differently in the Orange League. We set up some challenges to test our opponents. Whoever can beat us in those challenges earns the badge." Cissy explained.
"Oh? What are these challenges?" Ash asked, honestly curious.
"We use Water-Type Pokémon in two challenges: A water gun can shooting competition and a surfing race where we stand on the back of our Pokémon." She explained as they headed inside to a pool.
"Why bother. They're just going to lose." Senta grumbled and Ash grit his teeth slightly, Sharingan and Rin'negan activating in frustration causing Cissy to stumble slightly.
"I don't know about your right eye, but the left eye is definitely the Uchiha's Sharingan!" Cissy exclaimed as Senta paused at those words before spotting the Uchiha Crest on Ash's armor.
"Go Seadra!" Cissy yelled, releasing the evolved form of Horsea into the pool where two stacks of cans stood at the other end of it.
"It has a lighter coloration than those in Kanto." Ash noted to himself, pulling off a Poke Ball. "Go Wartortle!"
In a flash of light, his original Squirtle that had evolved entered the pool as well.
After a quick explanation, of the current challenge, the two Pokémon started firing water gun at the cans. It was a close race, finally ending with Wartortle winning by one measly can.
"Not bad." Cissy said, as they recalled their water Pokémon, for our next challenge we start at the water near our beach, go around a flag, and race back to the beach. The first one back wins.
"Lapras! I choose you!" Ash called out as the Transport Pokémon emerged from her Poke Ball and Ash pulled off his scythe and armor-leaving on his shirt, pants, sandals, and kunai holster-and swam over to Lapras before climbing onto her back and standing up. He added chakra to his feet to stick to her.
Cissy revealed her Pokémon as she swam-a Blastoise. As she climbed up to its back, she stood up with seasoned ease.
The two Pokémon took off and were evenly matched as they approached the flag. Lapras, however, took a slightly wide turn and Cissy took the lead.
Ash's eyes narrowed in frustration. Lapras was built more for traveling on the surface of the water, and couldn't move as swiftly in the water. Ice however….at this realization his eyes widened.
"Lapras! Use ice beam to make a path ahead of you!"
Hearing her orders, Lapras fired the ice beam leading up to the beach and Lapras's fins caught more traction on the ice and pulled ahead of Cissy's Blastoise, landing on the beach just ahead of Blastoise.
"What?! No way!" Senta exclaimed in frustration.
"Wow. It's been a while since I lost." Cissy exclaimed as Ash pulled his armor back on. Lapras sat on the beach looking proud of herself.
"For this victory, I present you the Coral-Eye Badge. With this, there are only three left before you are qualified for the Orange League." She said, handing Ash a pink badge formed from a seashell.
Giving a huge grin to his Pokémon, Ash put the badge in a case and tucked it away and jumped back onto Lapras. He gripped the scythe he had with his right hand, and-having forgotten to put his glove back on-the moment the crescent moon mark touched the metal it sucked chakra from him and extended and the end with the ninja wire changed. At the end was an incomplete circle shaped like a crescent moon with two black rings within the circle, one on each side. The ninja wire came out at the top of the crescent.
"Wow. I meant to salute them." Ash said, making everyone chuckle awkwardly. Glancing back to the mark on his hand, he pulled his glove back on, with the scythe remaining changed. However, Ash glanced at the hand again with a grin on, deactivating the Sharingan and Rin'negan before reminiscing with his meeting with Hagoromo and Ayumu.
"Soon." Ash said as Misty and Tracey climbed onto Lapras and she took off across the water, "Soon the Uchiha name will become famous amongst the lands once more as reality-more than just legend."
"However, I wonder what Hagoromo meant by the fact I was 'Chosen' for a reason…" He whispered to himself.
Somewhere deep beneath the sea, a bird-like Pokémon paused and looked towards the surface, and somewhere above the clouds, a phoenix-like Pokémon glanced at the ground.

Anyways, here is the first announcement: My newest story idea. I recently got Sonic Colors, and-having grown up playing Sonic the Hedgehog games on the SEGA genesis, I know more of his personality and abilities.
In the book series, Harry Potter started becoming a brash, self sacrificing hero (despite his upbringing…which raises the question if J.K. Rowling knows about a thing called Psychology…even Tom Riddle became Voldemort with a similar upbringing…..anyways, moving on.)
In the Anime "Sonic X" (AND I MEAN THE JAPANESE VERSION-NOT THE TERRIBLY EDITED ENGLISH VERSION!) They used an ability shown off in "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle" known as Chaos Control using the Seven Chaos Emeralds, to go from their world-an Earth in a parallel dimension-to our world.
What if Harry had been the person taken under Sonic's wing? What do we get?-A brash, cocky, action-addicted Potter that Hogwarts (and Dumbledore) are NOT prepared for.
However, Sonic's sidekick and "little brother" Miles "Tails" Prower will also help-allowing Harry to question things that don't make sense….like "IN A WAR, WHY DO YOU NOT USE LEATHAL FORCE AMONGS ENEMIES TRYING TO KILL YOU AND CONTINUOUSLY TRY TO "REDEEM" THEM AS THEY KILL OFF YOUR FORCES?!"
So basically, there are three sides in this struggle: Voldemort's, Dumbledore's, and Sonic's. Sonic's team is NOT afraid to fight back at full power.
The newest story will be: The Blur of Hogwarts.

Harry unconsciously scooted backwards as his Uncle Vernon kept turning a deeper shade of red. He hadn't meant to do something "freakish"…he had no idea how he ended up on the school's roof! As Vernon stomped to him, cracking his knuckles, there was a rush of wind passing him and standing in front of Harry in a protective stance was a…..blue hedgehog? What was happening to him?
"Sorry walrus-man, but I can't let you hurt the poor kid." It said in a mocking tone.
"BOY! What did you do NOW?!" Vernon yelled at him, as Harry shrunk in on himself. As Vernon's fist flew forward, the hedgehog grabbed it with a gloved hand and started running….incredibly fast. All Harry could see was a blue blur spinning his uncle like a top. Now THIS was not good…when Uncle Vernon got angry….
Before Harry could even complete his thought, The blur stopped and his Uncle went spinning out of the hallway into the kitchen.
"C'mon Kid! We've gotta leave now!" The figure said, picking up Harry and tossing him over his shoulder before literally running out of the house at a speed so fast everything around him seemed like a blur.
Outside of the house, an old man in violet-colored robes and half-moon glasses watched the blur with his wand out, unable to keep track of them. He sighed as he glanced at Number 4 Privet Drive. "This does not bode well for my plans…." He said.
About Sonic (from Screw Attack's "Sonic vs. Mario" "Death battle"…I'll include a link to it at the top of my profile.)
Sonic the Hedgehog is the "Fastest thing alive" and a Freedom Fighter battling to save the world from the tyrannical Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. Sonic's most notable ability is his speed. He can easily break the sound barrier in mere seconds.
While his top speed is unknown, he is clocked in at an average of 765 Miles Per Hour. (1231.15 Kilometers Per Hour.) (How does this guy not blow through shoes?) He can further increase his speed with his trademark "Figure-8" technique.
But he isn't just fast on his feet. He can curl up into a spiky ball and rip through his opponents with the Spin Attack. His Homing Attack rockets towards enemies and can hit multiple times, and with his Spin Dash, he can reach top speeds almost instantly (How does this guy not vomit?).
During his adventures Sonic has used a variety of different shields to improve his abilities. Each shield can block minor projectiles and have environmental advantages but will disintegrate after blocking a deadly blow. The fire shield can absorb, well, fire and heat, though it can't survive in water. No duh….With it Sonic can use the fiery dash attack.
The lightning shield can't survive underwater either, but it gives Sonic a mid-air jump for further aerial control. With the bubble shield Sonic can breath underwater and control his jumps with a powerful bounce. Why is water continuously mentioned?
Because he can't freaking swim! (Trust me, in places like Scotland and England-THAT will be a problem!)
Sonic's ultimate power-up, however, ISN'T a shield at all! After absorbing thousands of Power Rings on his adventures, Sonic has become an embodiment of Chaos. Using the power of the Seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic can tap into their incredible power and summon the form of Super Sonic.
Super Sonic can fly, breath underwater and is completely invulnerable…not to mention his speed is increased a thousand-fold. But as with most things that are unbelievably powerful, it has a time limit. Without a steady supply of Power Rings, it can't even last a full minute.
And when his Super Form finally subsides, he is reverted to normal at PEAK physical form…REGARDLESS of his condition prior to the transformation.
While Sonic's always risking his life to save the world from all kinds of dangerous robots and demigods….he's kind of a jerk. Sonic is cocky, arrogant, and addicted to action. He gets cranky and unstable when cooped up for too long (I have great ideas for this in "Order of the Phoenix!"). But despite his rough personality, he'll do WHATEVER it takes to save the day.
OKAY…NOW IT IS TIME FOR MY CHALLENGE!
IN STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE, the revealed one of my favorite and one of the most intimidating villains….Darth Maul. While cut in half, he was revealed to have survived in the Clone Wars series and replaced his lower half with a robotic half similar to General Grievous'.
This is a Harry Potter crossover challenge with lovers of "darker" Harry stories in mind. Harry in this challenge is….Darth Maul's apprentice.
DO's:
* Harry is to use a dual-bladed red lightsaber like his Master.
*Harry is on his own side in the war, NOT Dumbledore's OR Voldemort's…he can recruit allies to his side, with them being whoever you like, but one of the MUST be Sirius Black…
*One of Harry's Force Powers is The Emperor's Force Lightning.
*It can be a Harry/Daphne Greengrass, Harry/Luna, Harry/Hermione, or Harry/Ginny, but they must be turned Dark as well. How this is done is up to you.
Don'ts:
*Harry and Dumbledore or Voldemort as allies. Remember: Dumbledore wants Harry as a weapon/martyr and Voldemort wants him dead because of the prophecy.
*Ron is not a friend, nor is Molly Weasley. Remember, they follow EVERYTHING Dumbledore says.

Water Release: Water Fang Bullet (Multiple masses of water-can be arranged in a 360 degree location around foe-is pulled from a source of water and turned into spinning "drills" that slam into and tear apart the foe)
Water Release: Water Formation Wall (User spits out a large amount of water, after converting Chakra into water, and forms a circle around the user. It knocks back foes and blocks other jutsus.)
Shadow Clone Technique (Creates solid clones that can act independently of user. When dispelled, anything they learn is transferred to the person who created it.)

Naka Shrine Pass Technique (A sealing technique that was once used to hide the Uchiha's Naka Shrine. Itachi used it to hide the basement where Ash's Sharingan Eyes are awaiting a transplant for a future generation. A special Formula is used to move the seal and reveal the hidden room.)

*Rin'negan Techniques*:
Deva Path: The Deva Path grants the user to manipulate attractive and repulsive forces with objects and people. The gravity-manipulating technique Ash is granted through it CANNOT be used continuously, as it has a five-second recharge after each use.
(Deva Path) Shinra Tensei (Heavenly Subjugation of the Omnipresent God): Depending on the amount of force put into this technique, the user can easily shatter wood, bone, metal, or stone walls. By using this technique as a defensive measure, ALL attacks will be deflected-regardless of size and strength. The increased strength the attack uses, the longer the recharge time.
Preta Path: The Preta Path only has one technique-even at full power-it grants the user the ability to absorb chakra in any form using the Blocking Technique Absorption Seal. It is a defensive path that, because of its ability, is immune to most if not every ninjutsu-with the exception of Sage Techniques using Natural Energy.
Blocking Technique Absorption Seal: A highly advanced sealing technique granted by the Preta Path, absorbing chakra from any ninjutsu technique. If the user gets close enough, it can drain chakra from an opponent. This chakra is used to revitalize the user's chakra reserves.
