Peter sat up when bright light started peeking in from the window. He got dressed robotically and walked out of his room. The flat was quiet as he was the only early riser without Remus in the house. He continued his walk into the kitchen grabbing a granola bar, Lily had started bringing the muggle snack to them once she and James started dating, before heading off to work.

Peter got to St. Mungos and stopped in front of the mannequin for a minute before entering. He checked in with his apprentice, Mira Traidora, who had Peter follow her around for the next two hours. Once his two hours were up, Mira let him go on his lunch break, she just didn't know that instead, Peter was going to find Antonin Dolohov.

It took a while to find Dolohov's room, as Peter was scared to ask the main desk in fear that they would know what he was about to do. Eventually, he came across it. He turned his head to see if anyone was looking at him and opened the door. When Peter walked into the room he saw Dolohov sleeping in his bed. He hesitated for a second before stalking toward the sleeping man.

Peter pulled his wand out and whispered, "Enervate."

Antonin's eyes shot open, his body jerked up into a sitting position, causing Peter to flinch back. He took a breath, knowing that if he didn't do this then Dumbledore would know something was wrong, and Voldemort would find him and the rest of the Marauders. He refused to think about what would happen to James, Sirius, and especially not Remus if he failed. So he was determined to do what was necessary to save his friends.

"A-antonin Dol-lohov," Peter closed his eyes and counted to five, "I need to know about the D-d-death Eaters. What are you planning?"

Antonin gave Peter a blank look before smiling, "I have no reason to tell you anything, you can't even speak properly while I sit without my want in a hospital bed. Now you should leave, you're wasting my time and yours."

"D-d-didn't He-who-must-be-named tell y-you I was g-gonna come?" Peter whimpered feeling as if someone dunked him in ice water.

"He did, but he likes to test us from time to time. The Dark Lord just wants to make sure he understands where our loyalties lie. Don't worry, little man, you'll understand soon."

Peter tightened his grip on his wand, pointing it at Dolohov's face, trying to look as threatening as he could. Dolohov just laughed at him, and Peter snapped, he was going to show this man just how strong he was. It was then that Peter decided to try something he had never before.

He stepped closer to Dolohov and cast the spell, legilimency was different from any magic that he had cast before; Peter saw so many things, starting with a bunch of young students in dark robes trimmed with white fur. The flashes of memories continued, a young Dolohov screaming as a wand pressed into his arm, men meeting together in black masks standing in the night, an angry Voldemort torturing his followers at random, and finally, men gathered around in a dark room surrounding a table. Peter saw one of the papers lying on the table, blueprints of St. Mungos.

When Peter was yanked out of the memories he saw Dolohov staring listlessly at the ceiling for a moment before his eyes refocused. Antonin stared at Peter, shocked, obviously not expecting this man to be able to do such complex magic. Peter was just as surprised but he had what he needed and left the room.

Soon enough, Peter's lunch break was over, so he went to find Mira. He worked with her for the next three hours before being allowed to leave. As he was leaving it became apparent that she knew something was wrong because she had told him to try to get a good sleep the night before he had any other shifts. Peter smiled and reassured her that he had just been nervous for his first day and left. It was less than two minutes after he left the St. Mungos that he apparated into Hogsmeade and set off for Hogwarts.

He walked into the school through the main doors feeling the heavy quiet surrounding the building. Without any students inside Hogwarts felt less like the home it had been to the Marauders for seven years and more like a sinister trick. Luckily it only took a moment of walking around the eerily empty school before he saw the Gryffindor ghost, Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington.

"Hello, Peter, what are you doing here?" Nicholas asked, his transparent body floating toward the man in question.

Peter smiled, glad to see someone else even if the person was dead, and said, "Hi Nick, I'm looking for Dumbledore do you know where he is?"

"Right this way, I'll lead you to him," Nick started to glide across the halls with Peter following behind.

"Albus, Peter Pettigrew is here and said he was looking for you. Now I'll leave you to talk, good day Peter," Nick floated away through the ceiling and the two were left alone.

"Mr. Pettigrew, how may I help you?" Dumbledore asked.

Peter just quietly said, "Sir I did what you asked."

Dumbledore nodded and inquired, "Ah yes, tell me what did you find?"

"He-who-must-not-be-named is planning to break into St. Mungos, Professor, that's why Dolohov is there right now. The other Death Eaters are going to use him to get inside," Peter explained in a small voice.

Dumbledore smiled, remarking, "Thank you, Peter, that was very helpful. You should go home now, I do believe that Mr. Lupin has returned as well."

Upon hearing that Remus was home Peter grinned at Dumbledore and ran from Hogwarts to find a place he could apparate from. As soon as he set foot in Hogsmeade he disappeared with a splitting crack. He barely stopped moving when he rematerialized outside the flat door, opening it and walking in.

He found Remus and the other boys in Sirius and Remus' shared bedroom. Remus was lying on a bed it looked as though a bad moon had just passed. Peter was shocked by how pale Remus was, which only caused the new cuts and bites on his body to stand out more. Peter took a small step closer and saw that the bites were made with human teeth. It was then that Remus noticed Peter standing behind James

"Morning Peter," Remus said with a tired look on his face.

Apparently, that was the last straw for Sirius because he stood from his chair next to Remus and hotly imitated his words, "Morning Peter. Remus, what time do you think it is? Because I think that it's 12:45 at night but obviously it's morning right?"

Remus looked down and muttered something unintelligible in response. Sirius just shook his head and walked out of the room. Peter sat down in the chair Sirius had vacated while James followed after Sirius. The two Marauders waited in silence for the other boys to return. After about ten minutes James and Sirius reappeared at the door, Sirius sat next to Remus on the bed whispering apologies while James grabbed Peter, guiding the boy out of the room.

When they walked out of the threshold James said something about telling Peter what had happened in the morning before walking toward their shared room. Peter grabbed water from the kitchen, making sure to walk past Remus and Sirius' room to check if they had fallen asleep yet. Noting that they were lying on the bed peacefully Peter decided the fight must not have been terrible and sat on the couch thinking about what had happened that day. Peter had tapped into a power that he didn't know he possessed and something told him it would be useful one day.
