Sorry for the long wait to only be given a short chapter, life sometimes get's in the way but I'm back. This chapter is kind of chaotic so be

James woke to the sound of Peter's snoring, he took a minute before getting out of bed, trying to convince his body to go back to sleep. Instead of falling back into the soft tones of dreamland, James made breakfast. Glad that all of the Marauders were finally together, he had something important to tell them, James was going to ask Lily Evans, the red-headed love of his life, to marry him.
James only took an hour to prepare breakfast, though he was shocked that both Peter and Remus were still sleeping. During their days at Hogwarts Remus and Peter would wake James and Sirius by spraying them with water when they slept in.
When he finished making the pancakes he brought some into Remus and Sirius' room. This way Remus wouldn't have to come and grab them and Sirius wouldn't have to leave Remus alone in his injured state. James walked into the room and smiled at the sight of his two friends safely sleeping in each other's arms.
Not long after that Peter woke, followed shortly by Sirius. James began taking turns with Sirius to check on Remus every hour. Remus finally woke at one P.M. with the boys all putting him back in the bed as he tried to leave the room.
All the Marauders sat in Remus and Sirius' room playing gobstones and keeping Remus company. After a few hours of relaxation and games, Peter left, spouting some unlikely excuse about leaving a very important item at St. Mungos. James was the only one who seemed to hear what he said and assumed that the boy needed to get out of the room. To get away from the man he, so obviously, harbored feelings for and his boyfriend.
It had been something James had noticed at the end of sixth year when Remus and Sirius began to truly fall in love. Peter would always look at Sirius with jealousy if Remus was being cuddly or if the two had kissed. James had seen the boy's face fall when Remus climbed out of Sirius' bed in the morning. With the realization that Peter was in love with Remus James created a system, if the couple was acting especially lovesick he would give Peter something else to do, giving the boy space from them.
James waited until Peter returned to share his news with his fellow Marauders. While he waited he played wizard chess with Remus. Hours after he had left, Peter opened the door. James ran to the door, not unlike an excited dog, and dragged Peter into Remus and Sirius' room.
Once everyone was inside and his friends were seated on the bed in front of him, James announced, "I'm going to ask the beautiful Evans to marry me."
All of the Marauders cheered, though none were surprised and Sirius went into the kitchen to get some firewhiskey. They all drank and celebrated until they began to fall asleep, Remus was the first to go, curling up against Sirius, then Peter who slept on Remus' other side, Sirius sprawled out in his dog form, and James lay on the floor excited for the next chapter of his life.
