I'm back. After this chapter I am hoping to have more consistent updates. Have fun reading!
Peter looked at James and Sirius from where they sat on the couch. Just moments ago they had been accusing Remus of being the traitor, Remus. The man Sirius pretended he loved. In the beginning, Peter had fallen for it, but never again. Not after the things, Sirius said. Peter just shook his head, the Dark Lord was right, these two only cared about themselves.
"I have to go," Peter muttered. He had a friend to find.
…
Eventually, Peter found Remus. Sitting alone at a bar he looked miserable. Peter stepped toward Remus' dejected form.
Peter reached out and tapped his shoulder, "C'mon Moons, let's get you to bed."
"Pete? Issss that you? Pete you know I didn' do it? It not me, Pete it not me I ssswear."
Remus was so drunk he almost fell off his seat trying to convince Peter that he wasn't the traitor. Peter hadn't seen him this way since the prank Sirius had pulled. He reached out and grabbed his friend. It was time for Peter to take care of him. Peter was finally going to show him love and not the selfish thing Sirius had given him.
"I got you, Rem. I have you. I promise I won't let you go," Peter softly whispered as he pulled Remus away from the bar.
…
Remus woke with a pounding headache and the memory of Sirius yelling. He had done it, Remus ruined the Marauders by being a werewolf. Through his thoughts, Remus heard the door open. He watched Peter walk into the room with food in his hands. Remus had a distant memory of someone putting him to bed and holding him while he sobbed.
Peter made eye contact with him and smiled, "G'morning Rem, I've got breakfast."
It was then that the dam broke. Remus started sobbing he cried with his entire body. Peter didn't deserve to be dragged away from the Marauders. He didn't deserve any of this. Suddenly, Remus felt a wait around his shoulders. He could hear muttering but he couldn't understand.
"Pete, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Pete-" Remus choked on his tears.
"You're okay Rem. You've done nothing wrong Moons, It's alright, truly."
Peter hugged Remus until he stopped crying. His gasping sobs evening out into even breaths of sleep. Peter leaned down to the sleeping man and kissed his forehead with a whispered I love you. Sirius would never hurt Remus again, Peter would make sure of it.
