A/N: DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER
Now that's over, I hope you enjoy chapter three.
Chapter 3: Diagon Alley
I graciously thank the man holding the door to the Leaky Cauldron open as I step through to a small bar filled with witches and wizards. No one paid any attention to me because they were all lined up shaking hands with a boy about my age who was standing in front of a gargantuan of a man who was smiling kindly.
"You want to go to Fortescue's?" My dad asks.
"No." I sigh "I just want to stay in the Leaky Cauldron." I respond wearily.
My father nods and we take a booth in the far corner of the room. A waiter attentively takes our order before my dad and I turn to face each other, both waiting for the other to speak first.
"I was always dreading this day would come." My dad finally spoke.
"I'm sorry." I say at the same time.
We both chuckle lightly before my father motions for me to continue.
"I'm sorry I got so mad. You know that I'm not always the best at channeling my feelings, and when I don't know what to say I get angry. Not to mention my short temper. It was just a lot for me to handle, all this responsibility suddenly thrust upon me and there was nothing I could do about it. Also I shouldn't have yelled at you about mom, I know you always have a hard time talking about her." I explain, trying to let my emotions show through my words "I just don't want to go." I bit down on my lip to stop the threatening tears from spilling.
My dad takes my hands in his "I don't want you to go either sweetie. If I had it my way, you wouldn't even be leaving for Hogwarts; I would just teach you magic myself. But I can't choose your fate. I hate to see you go, but I know you must. I'm going to miss you so much."
We look at each other, our eyes showing it all. The unspoken 'I love you's and the ungiven hugs. Having to do something like this shows you just how much you cherish your family. Before I couldn't get away fast enough from my father to go hang out with my friends, but now I am just wishing that I had more time to spend with him.
"I know this is going to be a lot for you. Having to find new friends and manage life without a guiding hand. But trust me, sweetie, you'll do just fine. You are a strong independent girl and I will always be in your heart." My father continues.
"You don't know that, dad. You've always been there to help me through everything, especially mom's death, even when I knew that was hurting you just as much as me. I don't know what I'll do without you… I don't want to leave." I cried. This was really the last time I was going to see my father, and just twenty minutes ago, I was planning on spending it yelling at him. I'm just a foolish little girl, I didn't even appreciate what I had until it was going to be ripped away from me.
"I do know. You are just like your mother, and she was so strong, even on the day she died. She helped get 16 muggles out of that burning building before she died. And you are the exact same way. You will be just fine." My father reassures me. "And you'll need this." He says and pulls out a small bag.
"It has your Gringotts key, vault 821, some of your clothes, though you will have to buy more to get you through the year, a picture of you, me, and your mom, and the papers you have to give to your Manipulators Cult consultant." My dad explains.
I look at the tiny bag, incredulously.
"How did it all fit?" I ask in awe.
My father chuckles "Undetectable enlargement charm. Very useful."
"Thank you." I say. "And I have something for you."
I take the locket off from around my neck and place it in my dad's hand. He opens the locket and sees the pictures of me and my mom in them. When he looks back up at me he has tears streaming down his face. I was surprised. The only time I had seen him cry this much was when mom died, and even then he had tried to hide the fact that he was crying.
My father pulls me into a tight hug and whispers in my ear.
"Thank you, Tessa. Thank you so much. I will cherish this forever."
We stay like this for a while, but when we finally pull back my father uses the back of his hand to wipe his tears.
"You probably have to go now." My father says, his voice cracking slightly. I nod in agreement.
I pull him in for one more hug and say to him "I will miss you so much." He replies "I will miss you too."
"I love you." I say, hoping he understands how much emotion I am trying to put into that common phrase.
"I love you more." He says, with the same level of emotion.
"I love you most." I whisper softly, but he still hears, and smiles.
We pull away and I grab my bag. I place a kiss on my dad's cheek
"Go show the 1970's what Theresa Walsh is made of." My dad says proudly.
"I will." I reply before heading to the bathroom, where there will be less people.
Once I had made sure that there was no one else in the bathroom I turned the Time Turner backwards 19 times. When I looked up I saw thousands of people whizzing past me, and if they stop it was only for a millisecond.
No ones P.o.V:
A park, only a few miles away from the Walsh household, is teeming with people, both young and old. Wilfred Mott is sitting on one of those park benches, reveling in the early August sun. One of those rare summer breezes passed through the park, but this time it brought more than refreshment. A piece of paper was lying on the pavement, the wind making it crawl as if it were alive. The paper twists and turns until it gets caught on the leg of Wilfred's bench. He picked up this stray piece of paper.
It was a picture. But not just any picture. The people in the picture weren't still. There were at least a dozen people, and all of them were moving and talking to each other like friends. What caught Wilfred's eye was a woman in the picture. She was laughing with two men, one with long dark hair and the other with medium length light brown, almost dirty blond hair. The woman in the trio has long rich brown hair and hazel eyes so full of life and wonder. Everyone in the picture looks happy and carefree.
"I'm going to show this to Donna, she'll love it." Wilfred says, and hurries home to show his granddaughter this strange photo he found.
Tessa's P.o.V:
All of a sudden everything stopped and I was again alone in the bathroom. I was a little hesitant to start walking because I was a little woozy from watching everyone flash by. But I soon regain my balance and I slowly walk out to the main portion of the Leaky Cauldron. It looks almost exactly the same as 1991 but a little less dirty. The chairs are all down and the walls are made of a soft oak, I think.
I soon realized that I had no idea how to get to Diagon Alley, my dad never showed me how. I spot two kids around the same age as me and walk over to them. The girl has flaming red hair and dazzling green eyes and the boy has long straight black hair and dark, almost black, but cheerful eyes.
"Hello, do either of you know how to get to Diagon Alley?" I ask, hoping the answer is yes.
"Oh, of course, Sev and I are going down there too." The girl says "I'm Lily by the way, and my friend is Severus."
"It's nice to meet you, my name is Teresa, but you can call me Tessa." I reply.
The three of us soon head to the back wall of the small room and a young looking man, Severus tells me he was the bartender, Tom, comes over and taps a certain brick. The wall then seems to transform from a solid barrier to a large archway that opens up to a cobblestone street teeming with people in all assortments of clothing. I turn my head every which way wishing I had time to go into all the shops, but alas I have school supplies that won't buy themselves, though wizards really should find a way to make that happen.
The morning sun shines brightly above us casting a warm radiance over the alley that gives the windows a luminous glow, the perfect canvas to display merchandise to the eager passer-by. I was enamored when I saw a gleaming new Clean Sweep 6 taunting me in the Quality Quiddich Supplies store, and was tempted to buy it, but Lily pulled me away to look at some Quick Note Quills and Never Ending Parchment. Severus was excited when we strolled past the shop that sells spell and potions books, wanting to look inside every one.
We head into Fortescue's, the ice cream parlor, and order three ice cream sundaes before finding a booth. We sit and talk about nearly everything. Our lives before finding out we were wizards, I kept my story the same, just in the right year, making sure to eliminate any technology past their time. I found out that Lily was a muggleborn, but she lived right down the street from Severus, who introduced and taught her about magic. Lily also has a sister, Petunia, who according to Lily is just about the sweetest person on earth, but to Severus an "annoying, selfish, and dense brat". I'm not quite sure who to believe.
I also found out that Lily wishes to go into some sort of medical field when she gets older. She believes that with her magic she has so many more options for treatment, and one day hopes to cure cancer, because her grandmother was recently diagnosed with it. With her brains and determination, I bet that she could. Severus wants to be some sort of spell master, who could educate others on how to do things the right way, because learning it from a book never allows full comprehension. It always leaves out a step to fully intensify the effect of the spell. Severus has found this true in both spell books, and potion recipes.
Lilly carries the conversation much more than Severus does when the questions are directed to both of them, but he does give some details that Lily misses, or throws in a witty quip.
When our sundaes where done, and our blood full of sugar, we pay for our food and head out, ready to start shopping.
When we walk past Apothecary, we stifle our laughter as a frantic mother exclaimed,
"Oh no, Molly, I told you not to wear your new robes into Apothecary, and now they have bat spleen all over them!"
I couldn't help but feel sorry for the forlorn girl, but the way her mother reacted was just so funny. Once we got over ourselves I just had to ask Lily and Severus
"What are you looking forward to buying most?"
"Wands." They both answer simultaneously with longing grins on their faces.
At the end of the street there was a building that towered high above the other shops that was made purely out of snowy white marble and I knew at once that this was Gringotts. Upon entering there is a set of burnished bronze doors that were propped open to reveal another set of silver doors, engraved upon them a cryptic message that warns individuals of the severity of robbing the bank. These doors lead into a grand foyer that is immense in size. Lining either side of the hall was desk upon desk with… goblins sitting attentively behind them. Dressed in scarlet and gold uniforms, these goblins were about 3/4ths our size, had long pointed noses, and cunning glints in their eyes.
My footsteps echo loudly, resounding off the hard marble walls and floor as I make my way over to an unoccupied goblin with Lily and Severus. Pulling a small golden key from his pocket, Severus rolls the object in his palm before placing it up onto the table. I search my bag for a few moments until I produce a key that was almost identical to Severus's.
"My vault is number 819, but I'm not sure about her's." Severus announces and the goblin merely nods his head.
"Um, I think my father said it was vault 821." I reply.
"Another Thorton, eh? Well, this all seems to be in order. EDGEWICK!" the goblin yells and a stout goblin shambles over to us.
"Follow me you three." Edgewick instructs before turning around and hobbling over to a hallway that leads off to another section of the bank.
"So, what kind of pet do you think you will get?" Lily asks, her voice full of excitement because she had never had one before.
"I want an owl, they sound so cool!" I answer truthfully.
"As do I." Severus agrees.
Edgewick opens a door that lead into a narrow stone passageway, lit only by torches. Looking down I see a rickety track with a battered down cart attached to it. I see 4 problems right now, 1.) I am Closter phobic 2.) I hate the dark 3.) I hate roller coasters and 4.) I am deathly afraid of falling, and by the looks of it, the first part of the track was a 30 foot drop.
"There is no way I am going on that cart." I state bluntly.
The goblin simply answers "No ride, no money."
"Really?" I whine.
"Really." Edgewick confirms.
"Fine, but it's your own fault if you get thrown up on." I pout before cautiously stepping into the rickety old cart.
Let's get one thing straight. That ride was the WORST experience in in my entire life. The initial drop was absolutely terrifying, and that wasn't even the worst part. The cart was racing down the tract and jerks around every corner, I felt as if I was going to fly off any second. I tried to close my eyes but that just made it worse, it made the turns feel sharper and the drops steeper, but when your eyes were open the freezing wind that whips towards you stings your eyes horribly. My knuckles were white from me clinging to the sides of the cart and my eyes were wide with terror. I tried to scream but no sound came from my mouth as we zipped passed the stalagmite and stalactite.
The cart stopped abruptly and the three of us were pitched forward, slamming into each other. We slowly get off that death trap and I struggle to keep my breakfast down. Lily was looking a little green too, but Severus was overall fine.
"Never again." I vow with heaving breaths as I almost double over in discomfort.
"We still have to go back up miss." The goblin answers with a small smile playing on his lips.
I groan loudly and bang my head against the stone wall next to me. My new friends chuckle at this before Egdewick inserts a key into a tiny slot on a huge door, and it swings wide open.
"This one is mine." Severus announces as he stepped through the door to grab handfuls of coins.
"You're lucky Miss Walsh; your vault is right over here." The goblin says while padding over to a door only a few feet away from Severus's.
He opens my door and when it swings open I marvel at the sight of what is inside. The vault was filled with silver, bronze, and gold coins, all shimmering from the lights hanging at the top of the vault. Not to mention the nice jewelry and furniture that sat in the shelves that lined the sides of the vault. I knew my family was never in any economic trouble, but I never knew we were loaded. I stuff a sufficient amount of the little coins in my bag, bring sure to honor my dad's words of not spending all my money in one day. But really, that wouldn't even be possible.
All four of us then climb into the cart of doom and were our way back into the entrance to the bank. It was worse going back up because I felt like the tiny cart could lose traction any time and all of us would go plummeting to our deaths, such an optimist right? Lily, being a muggleborn, had to exchange her notes for Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts. I thank the little goblin before I turn around to catch up with my new friends. We quickly exit the bank, talking of where we want to start our shopping.
Once we were back on the street Lily, Severus, and I decide to take a look at our lists of school supplies. It read:

We decide to get our books first at Flourish and Blott's. I was in heaven. That bookstore was bigger than and Foyle's or even Waterstone's! There were rows upon rows of every book you can imagine. Huge leather bound volumes, small books the size of a postage stamp, books in ancient runes, books with nothing in them at all, and I just couldn't choose one.
The owner of Flourish and Blott's was ever so kind, and eagerly helped Lily, Severus, and me find our books. Lily listened to him intently with a concentrated look and asked many thought evoking questions, looking very much like a determined student. I found out that Lily and Severus loved to read as much as I do, so we even picked out a few that weren't on the course list, just for some late night reading.
After exiting Flourish and Blott's, Lily, Severus, and I head over to Madam Malkin's for new robes. We wander around the store, admiring the red velvet capes, and black satin coats before getting ourselves sized for our own robes. Three hats, nine robes, three winter coats, and hundreds of pin pricks later, Lily, Severus, and I exit the store holding stuffed bags and rubbing our sore skin.
Next we go to Apothecary to get our phials and scales. As we walk past the frog eyes, Severus talks animatedly about how to make a proper cold sore solution, and how the books were all wrong. I pick out a nice set of phials with blue stoppers and collapsible brass scales. Lily and Severus both picked the same type of phials as me but with green stoppers and advanced scales. We all grabbed pewter cauldrons and a pair of Dragon hide gloves before paying and heading back out to the alley. We look at our lists and see the only items we haven't bought were wands and animals. Heading into Ollivander's, the only sound we hear is the chime of a bell as we open the door.
"Hello?" Severus calls. No answer. Just our light breathing fills the silence.
"Maybe they're not open?" I suggest.
"Maybe, they're closed down?" Lily says, eyeing the peeling wall paper and cracking wood. We hear a small rustle and we all look up, towards the shelves upon shelves of wands. The rustling got louder, and soon a ladder came whizzing up on its track, carrying and old man with silver eyes and long, thin boxes in his hands.
"You called?" He, who I assumed was Mr. Ollivander, says and jumps down from the latter and pads over to his desk. He then uses a swish of his own wand to send the boxes back to their spots.
"Yes, we are here to purchase our wands." Severus speaks up, Lily still in momentary shock.
"Then you, my dear children have come to the right place. Ollivander's makes the finest wands in all of Europe. Wizards travel many a miles to obtain an Ollivander wand." Ollivander explains, proudly.
"You, girl." Ollivander points to Lilly. "You will go first. Name?"
"Lily, sir." She responds timidly.
"Wand arm?" Ollivander asks. Lily looks at me and Severus, now, without an answer and a nervous expression. I, no wiser than her, shrug my shoulders with a sorry expression, but Severus mouths the word 'right'.
"Right." Lily squeaked, as if she was a criminal talking to a juror.
"Okay, now I will just take a few more measurements. And we will find your wand." Ollivander says and a small measuring tape whips around the desk and starts measuring the length from Lily's shoulder to her hand.
Once all the measurements were done, Ollivander wanders back into the labyrinth of shelves. When he comes out he was holding at least 15 different boxes. He opens the one on the top of the pile and hands the wand inside to Lily.
"What are you waiting for, girl? Give it a wave." Ollivander says to Lily who was just staring at the wand.
Lilly gives the wand a flick and the chairs fly from the window near the door right up to the counter.
Ollivander snatches the wand out of Lily's hand "Oh no, that will not do." He says as he places it back in the box.
And this repeated until there were two wands left. Ollivander takes this one out and hands it to her.
"Try this." He says in an assured tone.
When the wand is placed in her hand, Lily starts to softly glow. Her whole body just seemed to light up. She raises the wand about her head and gives an extravagant flourish. This time, beautiful flowers spring up from an empty vase. Lily is absolutely radiating pride. Ollivander is clapping and laughing like a giddy child muttering "I knew it, I knew it!"
Ollivander hands Lily the box and then beckons Severus to come forward. While he was getting measured, Lilly and I tried to clean up some of the mess she had made. We pick up the papers and boxes, straighten the pictures and move the chair back to their original position before plopping down in them.
"What was it like; you know when you got the right wand?" I ask, excitedly.
"It feels amazing. First you get a little tingle in your stomach. Then the feeling spreads through your body like a wildfire. It feels like your whole body is just filled to the brim with power and happiness. It feels so right, like you've found a piece of your life that was missing. Or like right after you've won an award that you trained really hard for and know you deserve. It was just… absolutely delightful." She sighed, with a look of ecstasy on her face.
It did sound wonderful, to find the right wand. I hope I have the same feeling when I find mine.
I look up just in time to see Severus wave a wand and for red sparks to burst out, dancing about like fireworks. Ollivander leans over the counter and says to Severus
"I told you this would be the one."
Severus smiles and thanks Ollivander before he takes my place next to Lily and I nervously wait at the counter while Ollivander returns all of the wands Severus didn't choose to their rightful place. When he comes back he looks down at me with peering eyes. It was quite unsettling, those silver eyes looking at you, like they were examining the depths of your soul.
"Name?" He asks, still looking at me.
"Theresa." I respond, just wishing he would at least blink. Was this how Lily and Severus felt when they were getting their wands?
"Wand arm?" He also asks while bending down to get the tape measure that fell to the ground during Severus' turn.
"Left, I think." I say, because I am left handed, that's the same thing, right?
"I haven't had a left handed wizard come into my shop in months." He laughs and then walks to the back of the room muttering to himself blindly. He comes back, carrying a plain brown box. He opens it and a brown, knotted looking wand lays in the cushioning. I pick it up and give it a wave. Nothing happens. I place it back in the box and sigh.
"Maybe it's defective." I wonder aloud. All of the wands Lily and Severus tried did something.
"Nonsense, it's just not the right wand for you." Ollivander waves off my concern and heads back into the depths of the towering shelves.
"I wonder... Maybe." He mumbles when he returns with a black box. "Here, try this. Holly and Phoenix feather, 11 inches, surprisingly supple." I gingerly pick up the wand and examine it. I didn't feel any warmth run through me. Just power. The wand's power was emanating from its core and into my fingertips.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Give it a go." Olivander says. I flick the wand and the papers along the desk are set alight. Lilly jumps back at the flames, but Ollivander sets them out with a spell that shoots water out of his wand.
"No, no, no, no, no." He says and snatches the wand out of my hand. Placing it back in the box, he continues. "With your temper, one outburst could set half of Hogwarts aflame."
"What do you mean, 'my temper'?" I growled.
"Well… that, and someone must have a real temper to get that kind of reaction out of a wand, even this one." Ollivander says with a curious expression on his face. Without a word he hobbles back into the store.
He returns with a purple box and opens it. Deep red, almost crimson, is swirled through an ivory wand. I pick it up and as soon as the wand touches my fingers, I can tell it is the right one. I feel a sense of calmness wash over me. The warm sensation Lily was speaking of is there too, spreading through my body like a wild fire. I feel at peace, centered, balanced.
As if the wand has a mind of its own my hand swishes the wand in a graceful manner and opal sparks shot out of it, shimmering like glittery confetti.
"Ah ha, I knew it!" Ollivander exclaimed, clapping boyishly.
"How did you know, if you don't mind my asking?" Lily inquired, with that student like look on her face.
"The wand she first tried was way too weak to respond to her strong will. So then I tried one of my most powerful wands, which with her temper would be way too strong. So then when I thought about it I remembered I had a wand made, that one, birch swirled with dragon blood, 11 inches, unicorn hair core, fairly supple. The birch and dragon blood are complete opposite, so when put together they balance each other out." Ollivander explains. "But be careful, if that falls into the wrong hand, the dark side can overpower the light. Also if you lose it, I may not be able to find you a replacement."
I gulp. I have a terrible knack for losing things. I hope this isn't one of them.
We thank Ollivander for his time, and our wands, before paying. As we exit the shop, a pudgy, straw blondish hair colored boy and his mother walk in. We exchange head nods and head to Magical Menagerie, our pockets considerably lighter.
Inside the shop was dark. I could hear the rustling of feathers and squawking from all the owls. I also heard a few distinct meows. I see all of the glowing eyes peering at me, reminding me very much of Ollivander.
I wander around the store looking at all the owls, only barely making out there colors. A few chirped at me and I couldn't help but feel bad that I could only choose one.
I stop when I see a pair of golden eyes loom over me. I look at them, and see they hold a sort of higher intelligence. I couldn't make out the color of this owl, but expected it to be a dark shade. We just stare at each other for a while, neither moving, waiting for the other to make the next move. I slowly bring my hand up to the cage and the owl nips my knuckles softly. This has to be the one.
I wrap my hand around the ring and pull the cage off the shelf. It was a lot heavier than I expected. And bigger. And… is that another owl?
It was. There was another owl sleeping peacefully, it's head resting on its back. It was a beautiful barn owl, white with gold spots all over it. The owl jerked awake, ruffled that it was awoken from its sleep. It looked at me, annoyed, before setting its head back down to rest.
I walked to the back of the shop, where there was actual light and a cashier. When I got into the light I found out that the original owl was black with specks of white around the neck. They were both absolutely stunning; it would be hard to pick just one.
"Oh, you're getting those two. Beautiful, aren't they? Two boys, like brothers." The cashier says with a fading Scottish accent and I nod in agreement. "So loyal, they are. Especially to each other. Can't live without one another, they go mad. Our poor new assistant had to find that out the hard way on her first day. Also happened to be her last."
Oh, I was not expecting that. Well, they are both gorgeous, and what if I have to send two letters at once? I mean, it would just be wrong to separate them, right?
"I'll take both." I say and put the cage on the counter. The cashier smiles as she tells me the price.
"That'll be 32 galleons, miss."
I pay the price and take my new pets to find Lily and Severus. I find Lily awful quickly. She couldn't decide between a small owl or a bottle tailed ginger cat. She looks to me for the answer.
"What do I do, Tessa? I can't decide, they're both so cute. I want to get them both, but I only have the money for one." She nearly cries.
"Well, I do love cats, but an owl would be so much more practical. And anyways it is the only way you can talk to your family, because I don't think Hogwarts uses the postal service." I rationalize.
"You're right." Lily sighs and strokes the cat's fur. "I am so sorry." She apologizes to the cat before taking down the owl and heading toward the back of the shop.
When we get there, Severus is already paying for a majestic eagle owl with bright orange eyes. In the light I can also see that Lily's owl is a cute Saw Whet with big yellow, childlike eyes. When we were all paid for we head back to the front of the shop talking excitedly about our new pets.
"So what do you think you're going to name your owl, Severus?" I ask.
"She a girl, so I was thinking Ember." Severus replies and Lilly adds in "Oooh, I like that name." and I can't help but agree.
"And you, Lily?" I ask just as we go out the door.
Before Lily can answer we hear a loud thud. We all whip around and see the ginger cat Lilly was going to buy, with its face slammed in the glass door. It must have tried to escape, but the door must have closed on it. Severus was taken aback, but I was horrified. I felt terrible for the poor thing and when it started to walk away, dazed, it fell to the ground. Even from here we could see that now its face was all squashed in.
Lily was in absolute hysterics. She had her hand on her mouth, her eyes wide and her face pale before she broke down. She just starts to hyperventilate, and then the tears come. They flood down her face and they just won't stop. Severus and I have to frog march her down to the Leaky Cauldron to stop her from collapsing in the middle of the street.
When we get to the Leaky Cauldron we sit Lily down and order hot chocolates all around. We try to calm her down and our soothing words seem to be working. When the hot chocolate comes, Severus and I try to make small talk with Lily, but she just quietly sips her drink, not paying much attention to anything.
When she is finally ready to talk she takes a deep breath.
"If I had gotten the cat instead of the owl, that never would have happened, it's all my fault." She says, her voice sounding numb.
"No, Lily, it's not. If I was anyone's fault, it's mine; I'm the one who told you to get the owl." I say, feeling bad she was taking the situation so personally.
"Come on, don't blame yourselves, if it was anyone's fault, it was the cat's, for trying to escape. There is no point feeling bad about it." Severus interjects.
"Then how come I still feel bad Severus, how come?" Lily inquires with bite in her voice.
"We better get going; our parents will be expecting us." Severus says to me, ignoring Lily's question.
I nod "It was nice meeting you two; I hope to see you at Hogwarts."
Severus ushers Lily out of the booth and puts down some coins for the drinks.
"We do too. Maybe we can meet up at the platform at Kings Cross." She says and Severus agrees.
"Okay. See you then." I say before we exchange goodbyes and Lily and Severus head to the fireplace. With a blast of green fire both of them are gone.
I look down contentedly at my hot chocolate. Maybe this life wouldn't be so bad. I already made two friends who seem really nice. Well, I'll just have to wait until Hogwarts. That will be the real test.
I pull out some coins of my own and pay the difference for the drinks before getting up and walking over to the reception desk.
"Reservation for Thorton." I yawn, finally realizing how tired I am.
Tom runs a long finger down the page.
"Ah, Thorton, right here. Room 102." He says while handing me a key. I thank him before stumbling up to my room.
I turn the key in the lock and close the door before setting all my new things down on my dresser and flopping down onto my bed.
'I'll buy clothes tomorrow.' I think tiredly before drifting off into a deep, peaceful sleep.
A/N:Yeah... I was typing and then this nearly 6000 word monstrosity took place. I'm sorry that it took 3 weeks for me to update, but I hope that this will satisfy you readers for now. I really need to work on not procrastinating.

MissSlythedor- I totally get what you were saying. When I read it over it did sound rushed. I'll try and fix that when I can, but right now I'm more focused on the chapters that are ahead of me. Is it horrible to say that? Anyways, I'm glad you liked my story.
greenpinapple- Here it is, Chapter 3. Do you like it? I hope you do. And I like the second version much better than the first, I'm happy you do too. But as I said before, I do think it is rushed. Hopefully this one is better.
I would like to thank everyone who reviewed/followed/ favorite, it means so much to me. Though this time I would like at least one person who is not MissSlythedor or greenpineapple to review, just because I know both of them now and don't want them to be saying my story is good just to boost my ego if it really isn't. I will not stop updating if this does not happen, but I would like it to happen at some point.
Hopefully I'll see you soon,
~BecauseImClever12
And yes, that is a 'Tangled' quote in my story. Well, it probably wasn't originally from 'Tangled' but that's the movie I remember it from. You probably don't even know what I'm talking about do you? No? Okay, I'll shut up now.
Also, props to you if you know who the people mentioned in between the line breaks are.
