Chapter 21

The same day Carly and Freddie sat in the kitchen of the Shay Apartment, Carly surfing on the ICarly Site with the new laptop that Freddie had bought her as present and was a totally shocked at the one thing that she discovered there: Someone with the Alias Green Goblin had posted a link to an online video were Carly and her cheating ex-boyfriend were in a very heavy make out session at his house. It took quite some time before she could recollect herself but then she finally said to Freddie, who sat at the kitchen counter sipping on a glass of lemonade: "Freddie you've got to see this, we've got a very big problem!" The ICarly Tech producer quickly put the glass down on the kitchen counter and then he went over to the couch to take the place right next to his girlfriend.

As Carly played the video on the screen of her laptop with a Girly Cow sticker on the back of it, Freddie had somehow a bad feeling coming up in his stomach as he saw Carly and that jerk Pete involved in a heavy make out session and all he could think was: Why did he film such a private moment like that and post it on the internet? It surely took a lot of energy to fight the urge to practically hunt down this jerk right now and tell him exactly what he thinks about him and definitely in a very physical way. Carly was getting pretty angry as she read through some of the comments below the video: Poor Freddie, I hope he realizes soon that Carly is just playing around with like she did with Pete. She really couldn't believe what she read there, the whole tenor of the postings basically was: Carly Shay was and always will be breaking other guys' hearts, because she gets bored very quickly by them. After she had finally found the strength to speak she said: "This is….outrageous! How could he do that? Posting all these lies about me on the Internet, tell everybody that I was the one that cheated on him just like I did it with every guy before him."

As she finally couldn't look at the comments section anymore, she practically slammed her laptop shut Freddie then took it from her lap and placed it on the table in front of them. He didn't really know what to say right now, but deep down he knew how horrible all this was for her right now so he put one hand around one of her shoulders and Carly let her head immediately collapse on it. In a very soft voice he finally said as he gently stroke through the long hair of the brunette web hostess:

"He's just jealous of the wonderful relationship we have together and wants you to feel miserable now as a kind of revenge but we can't let him, okay?"

Fighting hard to keep the tears at bay, she took one deep breath before she replied: "Okay we won't let him win." Of course Freddie knew very well that this thing was far from over, but he was determined not to get let all these hurtful comments get to him even if it was easier said than done. There was some silence between them, Freddie thinking hard how they could end this the peaceful way because anything else would surely complicate matters.

What if Pete isn't willing to tell the truth? Does he really want to try and totally ruin Carly's reputation on the Internet? Of course he seriously doubted that this junk would have any negative impact on the viewership of the web show but he absolutely couldn't let this slide. The ICarly Tech producer hated that jerk even more, after he now pulled that stunt at his girlfriend's expense and he kept asking himself what advantage Pete actually had because of all this. It disgusted him so much, that Pete would sink down to this low level but he also had to admit that it didn't surprised him one bit that this came from a person with such a big ego like him.

Trying his very best to lighten up her mood just a little bit after that shocking news Freddie suggested to his girlfriend: "What do think about a little movie night at my place, so that you can put your mind at rest just for the rest of the day and tomorrow we will talk to Pete about this rubbish okay?"

That suggestion finally put a little smile on her face and she answered back: "That sounds very good to me and thanks for staying by side, because I truly don't know if I could handle this whole thing without you." She shortly lifted up her head from his shoulder, kissed him softly on his forehead; Freddie took her right hand into his and gently squeezed it.

The tech producer was totally glad to see her shortly smile, even if it might be a little bit forced at this point what was totally understandable but overall it really broke his heart to her this sad. Meanwhile at Pete's apartment on the other side of the city, Carly's cheating ex-boyfriend grinned widely at the numbers of viewers and the comments below the video that he had posted and was totally happy how things were going very good so far.

Carly could probably tell, that it was him that posted the video online and he could imagine how miserable she was feeling right now because he had known in advance that she definitely wouldn't want this video clip to been seen by anyone especially her current boyfriend. Back at the apartment of the Puckett's in the Bushwell Apartment Complex Sam was also fuming, as she had spotted the link to this video and all the lies about her good friend Carly Shay and she truly would beat that jerk up pretty bad if she would know where he lived.
